Obama's Aunt- she only get's one thread!

There will never be enough for the BO and pal Joey supporters here, but I'mn sure you knew that.

The best hope is that for those lurking, they use their common sense and see it for what it is. A big old BO sham.

I still want to know how she travels to and from Kenya, if she is here illegally. :confused3

Me too. And it would be the MSM's job to ask those questions and find out the answers. Unfortunately, they've decided to spend the vast majority of their limited time and resources investigating the candidates of the party they are not voting for.

But if she gets through customs, wouldn't that imply she is here legally, just not approved for full time asylum?

Truthfully, I found this interesting in the CNN article:

Wouldn't one assume it to be criminal matter? I don't understand...what is an "administrative violation" does that mean it is no more serious, than say, a traffic ticket? And I'm not asking this because the woman is Obama's aunt. I just truly thought all persons being in the US without permission would be criminal. OR, is she here legally, just not granted asylum?

If it is true that she "comes and goes" then she may be here on a visa of some sort, otherwise how could she get through customs in the first place? It isn't like you can get here from Kenya by sneeking across the border or on a home made boat. She would have to fly in on a commercial jet, with passport and documents, right?

It seems confusing :confused3

Really, explain how she can travel back & forth, please. I was asked for a passport the other day when I walked over to Mexico and back, even though I don't think it is actually a requirement, yet.

Good questions.
I have been trying to figure out what the administrative violation is myself.
I have been doing a bit of web searching but have not found the info.

As for the traveling back and forth ......Great question ....It never even crossed my mind.
I guess these threads have really taken a toll on my cognitive thoughts.

November 5th can't come fast enough AFIC !. ;)

This is all I was able to come up with so far:

Onyango's refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, noncriminal violation of immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system. Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the U.S.

<snip>

It was unclear why her request for asylum was rejected in 2004..........<snip>

A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Kelly Nantel, said the government does not comment on an individual's citizenship status or immigration case.

Onyango's case — coming to light just days before the presidential election — led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring that any deportations before Tuesday's election be approved at least at the level of the agency's regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.

The unusual directive suggests that the administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango's case coming to light so close to the election.

The East African nation has been fractured in violence in recent years, including a period of two months of bloodshed after December 2007 that killed 1,500 people.

The disclosure about Onyango came just one day after Obama's presidential campaign confirmed to the Times of London that Onyango, who has lived quietly in public housing in South Boston for five years, was Obama's father's half sister.

It was not immediately clear how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order.

You asked how could I know he HASN'T offered to help. I answered. I answered your question based on information stated by Mr Obama himself. I didn't say whether I believed him or not. So if he says that he didnt know she was here getting government assistance as an illegal, well then, if you take him at his word, he wouldn't have helped what he didn't know about. But he does now so I stand by my comment. NOW, that he has acknowledged he knows, shouldn't he be helping out. Again, this is a direct response to you asking "how did we know if he hasn't helped"
**sigh* * but we aren't talking about her situation in Kenya. We are talking about her situation HERE, being illegal and obviously needing government help in the form of public housing
:rotfl2: no need to sigh. Really, it says more about you than it does about me.

Anyway, sorry, I was on my way out the door earlier, so didn't respond fully.

Now that he knows, you say, he should be helping out. OK, then, when did he find out? Just today or yesterday, as this story came to light? How fast does he have to act for it to be acceptable to you? How do you know he's not on the phone with her right now, offering assistance?

Kenya is indeed relevant as it's where he thought she was living, and people are also saying that he should be helping his half-brother in Kenya who really isn't as bad off as they say.

I have seen no evidence that Obama has never offered to help his less fortunate relatives. Of course, there is no evidence that he did, either. Neither of us know the truth, but it could just as easily go either way. But you and others are so quick to assume the worst. It too, says more about you than about him.

Good point, Chuck. I would like to know that, too.

No, I think their common sense will tell them it's another trivial fact, completely irrelevant to Obama's ability to lead the country, and a big old much-ado-about-nothing desperate attempt to win voters to McCain's side. ;)

All of this preaching coming for supporters of a guy who committed adultery while his wife was gravely ill. Then asked for divorce.

Good grief.

Adultery is not seen as a national issue like illegal immigration is, as far as I can tell. The abuse of our wefare system, another issue of national import.

How do these issues compare with adultery?

However, most Republicans don't agree with their candidate on illegal immigration anyway.

An interesting thought was expressed on the previous page. Translated into reality, it goes something like this, "Figure if you throw enough mud up against a wall, regardless of whether it is real mud or fake mud, shouldn't some of it will stick nonetheless?" That's what some folks are hoping for: That some of the fake mud will stick, because nothing else holds the hope of their candidate winning. And note that mud can be fake because the facts are wrong -- that is one way for mud to be fake -- but mud can also be fake because it has no relevance to the wall it is being thrown at.

Yes, me too.

How is he going to help her? If she is poor enough to need public housing, how is she buying plane tickets? And if she is wealthy enough to buy plane tickets to Kenya (not cheap), why is she getting public housing? Is Obama going to use his power and influence to make this problem go away?

All of this preaching coming for supporters of a guy who committed adultery while his wife was gravely ill. Then asked for divorce.

I have no idea whether or not McCain did that, but I will say it was a non-factor for me in regards to Clinton, and it is a non-factor now.

But if she gets through customs, wouldn't that imply she is here legally, just not approved for full time asylum?

It would suggest that she came over on a visitor's visa and over stayed her time.

BTW, who is his Ex wife voting for? Oh yeah, John McCain. If she can "get over it", maybe you should too.

It would suggest that she came over on a visitor's visa and over stayed her time.

But if she "goes back and forth" wouldn't they have a record of that at Customs and or Immigration, and not let her return to the US after she visits Kenya? Something isn't adding up. Either she is her legally, or she is not. If she is not here legally, how is it she is allowed to go to Kenya and return through Customs to the US?

According to a report, she qualified for housing as well as her small job with the Boston Housing Authority through a non citizen program. Her job had no idea about her relations to Obama so if she's not an overt bragger, how do we know that she ever told or asked Obama for any help.

It would also seem as if ICE knew of her situation and she clearly wasn't hiding. So right or wrong, whoever leaked it is more trouble than she is.

I don't believe that Obama was aware of her status, because if he truly were, he would have used his position to help her...I mean, he's running for President for God's sake. So I don't think he was skirting the immigration laws for this woman.

If the rules state she should be deported, she most certainly should. I do have to ask, why haven't they picked her up yet?

This train wreck just keeps going and going and going .................

............ don't worry: The McCain supporters will have less reason to launch such desperate measures after Tuesday.
