Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

I am a bit upset I never got the chance to experience this. It was on my bucket list but I did not have the funds to do it before it closed. I would have in another year or two.

Shopdisney has some of the clothing on sale. Has anyone bought the adult tunic? Wondering if it is well-made.
I haven't purchased it but have seen several people wearing it. It looked high quality.

As a performer my heart breaks for this cast and crew.

I highly recommend Craig’s initial 3 plus hour video or Andrew Barth Feldman’s hilarious 20 something minutes of chaos to show how brilliant these humans are

@only hope, Someone else may have answered this further along in the thread, but I can tell you that the uniform jacket (is that the tunic?) is extremely well made. My husband and I each got one. His fit perfectly. Mind did not fit so well, but it fit passably. We were able to arrange a trip at the last minute after calling very frequently and finding no openings. So we had just a short time before we traveled, and no time for alterations. I plan to get my jacket altered. It will be worth it.

Sorry if this has been discussed already (I haven't kept up with the news) but have they announced yet exactly what this will become for the future now that it has closed???

Great concept on paper just not enough customer uptake due to the cost vs limited stay ratio.
Unless Disney comes up with a way to reuse this built for purpose resort then they will just leave it to rot in place and take the write-off.

The resort rooms a very small, no windows, and a very small number of rooms total. Very limited dining options, no resort amenities (pools, grounds) and the "Star Wars" tech is already obsolete.

So sad, and the barrier to using it being access in the "shuttles" is absurd. They can't just find a larger vehicle somewhere if it's such a big issue?

Maybe, though, they will finally build the Oga dinner and a show restaurant.

So sad. This experience was amazing, the innovation and technology was unique, and the CMs truly made the Starcruiser a dream come true for Star Wars fans of all ages, who were able to experience it.

It is unfortunate that Disney could not transform this into a dinner show or something else after it closed.

Feels like bad luck to turn the biggest imaginative gamble Disney failed with into the new offices for Disney imagination.

I cannot imagine new Star Wars ideas are getting any more theme park money. Iger is a serious fan for sure- but this was serious bad. I think he wants to sweep the Starcruiser under the rug and any new SW additions would bring this disaster to mind- so he’ll take the guaranteed win of updating the Millennium Falcon ride with Mando/Grogu and ride off into the sunset.

(I don’t disagree it could be a huge money maker. In fact I think it was stupid they didn’t include a TS Star Wars restaurant in both Coast’s GE- I just don’t think today’s Disney has the chutzpah to do it after the Galactic Starcruiser bath.)

So, does this mean each office will have its own restroom and bed? Maybe this is what they mean by working remotely.

Now I do wonder about the food services and if that will stay.

Does that building have any real windows? For some reason I recall that they had "windows" where you were looking into space or whatever, but couldn't really see outside. Seems like it would be claustrophobic if you couldn't ever look outside during your workday. (I mean, not necessarily a window in your own individual office space, but at least windows in the hallways or common spaces.)

Wow. I would love to read a book about what an outright disaster this was and how it came to pass.

No the office furniture would replace the bed(s) except for the built-in bunks (I guess). They could always change the interior layout of the Guest room areas to an open architecture configuration. The individual temperature control equipment would also be a challenge.

Not sure what you are indicating here but it had a central kitchen and a larger dining area. I doubt the bar would survive.

Not in the public facing areas and each Guest room only had a video screen showing a fake space scene. Also the parking area is not near the building.

This whole thing sounds odd. Since Disney wrote off the whole thing it may end up as a tear down and replace.

I was being a little facetious with the bed staying comment. I think they would remove it as well, but the restrooms removal for each unit would take some time (= cost). I think some of the rooms could have the common wall eliminated for larger office space(s).

I was speculating that the dining room would remain and that CM food services would be available for purchase almost akin to a corporate cafeteria.

I thought during construction, the panels for each room could be removed to allow for a "traditional" window replacement. Maybe I misread it.
