Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

I want to be positive but for Obama's critics--that group of folks who have no intention of voting for him no matter what--the feedback is going to be 'why didn't he do this before?'

Nope...they're saying it was a purely political move, and going out of their way to slam him for...wait for it...doing exactly what they said he should do. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Well, IMHO, those people who would ask the question have no heart and no soul. I know in my particular situation, when my controversial situation came up with my friend, it took a few months for me to come to grips with it and to cut her loose so to speak. If these things are relatively new, and Obama (as Wright even pointed out) wasn't in the pew's all that often, he likely did not see a lot of the stuff that is now in the MSM. But, I always defended Obama's attempt to explain who Wright was in the past, and who he thought he was to him, even to yesterday.

But, the playing field drastically changed yesterday when Wright said that Obama was only saying what he was saying because he was a Politician, and that this wasn't really about him or what he said (umm, yes it was). In my opinion, if Obama was only saying what he was saying because he was a Politician, he would have denounced Wright back then.... he didn't, he's a man with integrity and good will.... Wright saying he'd be coming after Obama should he get elected, I mean there were many times in that Q&A when I wondered what the heck he was thinking saying what he was saying, it clearly was for his own posturing.... VERY sad for Obama, and it was written and shown all over his face :(

I took a look at that :scared1: sideshow of a thread and the usual suspects and their blathering. You and Wilderness Bride are brave souls for stepping over there!

Reflection - well said and I so agree. I applaud you both (and Fitswimmer too, who, unfortunately I haven't really seen posting today and hope that's not a bad sign) because I'm too much of a coward to do it, but am SO glad someone is willing to "go to bat" for the cause! Thanks on behalf of all of us timid folk.

It is a bad sign as you mention.... it's most suspect.

Apparently Fits has been put on suspension mode but not banned. She is not allowed to post or come on the DIS and the MODs gave her no reason.

She did get heated last night about all that has been happening on the DIS and that was it for her.:sad2:

Just thought you might like to know. That is whay I posted.

Not clear on the policy at DIS for discussing/mentioning/posting the above, so best to just leave it there. :goodvibes

Zippa D Doodah, LOL, like so many others have said before me, even when I may disagree with you on policy, you are a breath of fresh air and always welcome around me! And, so no one feels slighted, chris1gill and crcormier and many, many more, you guys (not gender specific) are greatly appreciated too. I guess in light of recent events, I just wanted folks to know I really do appreciate their posting.

Awww thanks. I figure we could all use a little levity these days.

Two More Superdels Backing Obama

Kentucky Rep. Chandler and Iowa DNC member Machaceck announce support for the Land of Lincolner.

Chandler provides key support in Kentucky, where Obama is relatively weak. Its primary is May 20.

Machaceck is the fifth of Iowa’s 12 superdelegates to endorse Obama; Clinton has three.

:woohoo:

I found a great page on Politico for SD updates. It's more accurate than the media site pages.

Thanks Suzannen, good to feel appreciated :goodvibes

Honu, looks like both Clinton & Obama picked up 2 Super's today, however, Obama is only 20 Supers shy of Clinton. Considering how far ahead she started, it's a marvelous showing...

Other positive news: Obama maintains a good lead in NC, although Clinton has made some inroads, and the race remains very close in Indiana.

Courting votes with the Tarheels.

"Sen. Barack Obama got an assist from basketball before. Maybe it will work again.

The presidential hopeful used the hardwood hideaway to help him adjust to a white world as a racially mixed teenager, and now he's trying to use hoops to beat the double-team of Hillary Clinton and political controversy.

With cameras trained on his every 46-year-old move, Obama scrimmaged on Tuesday with the North Carolina Tar Heels.

"These guys," Obama said, "are lot better than me."

Great photo in the article of Obama driving to the hoop:thumbsup2

The Clintons are almost as bad as the Republicans. Certainly in the tradition of Lee Atwater and Karl Rove.

The only saving grace about Hillary Clinton is she wouldn't appoint a rightwing nutjob to the SC.

That and the fact that the rightwing would pass a gold brick when they hear "Hail To The Chief" and Hillary walks in.
