Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

Bush is having a news conference right now. You would think after almost 8 years that he would have learned how to speak. Do we really want another idot for POTUS? I am so tired of being embarrassed everytime he opens his mouth. I want someone who can actually make a difference. McSame does not have a clue about what is really going on in this country, he wants to take public financing for the election but still be able to use his family's private jet. Clinton has shown that she will just be more of the same, does anyone really want to go through all the crap the Republicans threw at Bill? IMHO Obama is our only chance at real change.

If anyone thinks that Obama has some hidden agenda I would think the way Rev Wright is carrying on would prove how wrong that is. Wright would be holding his tongue if he thought Obama was going to give him a platform when he got elected.

Maybe it is just to much to believe that the Ameican voting public learned anything from the last two presidential elections.

Pheww!! Glad you were able to avoid the snipers. If you'll just keep walking to the end of the tarmac, I have a poem and a hug I want to give you.

BLAH!!

I know that it was a 'anti-liberal' site - but being Disney people, I thought it was cute. I didnt mean it like that. I apologize if it was taken that way - seriously....

I just thought, being a Disney person - it was cute. I drew a pair of Mickey eats on a $5 not too long ago.... in case anyone gets it, I did it. ;)

No offense, seriously.

I think no truer words will be spoken today....

Wilderness, I don't know where you were, but I'm glad you're back :)

Newt Gingrich was just on The View and he said Hillary has more votes than Obama, Obama has just won a few small states and some caucuses so he has a few more delegates! So now Newt is for Hillary? I just don't get it and he also thinks she will be the nominee. He said MI has their regular primary on Aug 5 or 8, I forget, and they can just vote again. Wouldn't that just be great for the Republicans!! I guess they figure if Hillary can steal the nomination from Obama and drag it to the convention than that puts their candidate in a great place to win.

I just get so frustrated by it all. I wish I could stop listening to it, but it is like a train wreck and I just can't turn my head.

I truly think that Hillary is going to ruin the party if she gets the nomination after dragging this to the convention in Aug. I live in AL, so it really doesn't matter if I vote for her or not as this state will go red. Maybe she thinks she can change the general election rules too. How do people think Obama is an elitist when it is Hillary that puts herself above the rules, and thinks that she can do and say whatever she wants regarless of how false its is?

All I can say is TURN IT OFF.... you should know HRC won the states that mattered, and the other 30 states didn't matter....

Gingrich has always been the Donkey's behind, why he's yapping now, who cares? His days are OVER, and rightfully so...

In other words don't sweat it. My vote doesn't really count either by the way, I live in a state that would never go red, regardless who the nominee is for the Democrats. What we wind up with for the next 4 years is very likely to be what we've had for the last 8, the party is irrevocably torn, which is exactly what the Republicans wanted in the first place. If you want liars, cheaters, inept, pandering people elected, this is the year for it it would seem, and oh by the way, there are 2 wars going on, the housing market is in the tank, people are losing their jobs, gas is 3.60 a gallon (at least), and a myriad of other economic crisis are looming, like our dollar is in the toilet... None of it matters and people don't get it.

It can be very frustrating when that kind of crap gets touted about. Newt doesn't know what he's talking about...don't these politicians who say, "Small states don't matter." realize how INSULTING it is to the citizens of those states?

And last I checked, we have FIFTY states, not 2 or 3 or 4 big ones that made us the United States of America.

We sooooo need to get the old guard out of DC and bring in fresh blood, fresh ideas and some integrity for crying out loud.

Mary...who's also campaign-fatigued, lives in a swing state, and hopes (YES, HOPES) that Obama wins in ND and wins big in NC.

All the right wing pundits are pulling for Hillary and will continue to until this is decided so that it keeps going and going. Ignore them.

Stolen from the conservative thread, because it's amusing:

Hillary vs. Obama... FIGHT!

A heads up, Obama's giving a Press Conference later this afternoon, time to be determined to address the Rev. Wright.

Personally I think after Wright threw him under the bus yesterday, when Obama has shown nothing but respect towards him, even when it wasn't advantageous to do so, he should throw Wright under that bus, better yet throw him over the cliff....

The speeches Wright gave recently were fine in some parts even great in some parts, but his Q&A yesterday was far over the top in how he really felt about Obama, and that is just my opinion.

It's on now & seems he's throwing him under that bus!

Get him under there....now can this go away???? Pleeeease!!!

He's completely throwing him off the cliff, he is obviously very deeply hurt, it's written all over his face.... he was disrespected at the core of fundamental belief system by the antics, particularly the Q&A yesterday, he was not respected, as he had shown respect. Whatever relationship he had in the past is no longer what he has now, if there is anything now other than memories.

That HAS to be the saddest thing I have seen on TV, losing a friend of 20 years.

Coincidentally I lost a friend of 25 years recently due to a fundamental difference in core beliefs that had never surfaced before. It is horribly difficult to come to terms with that and I cannot imagine how much hurt Obama is now feeling over this.

Barack Obama said:
I'm outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle that we saw yesterday. I have been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ since 1992 and have known Jeremiah Wright for almost 22 years. The person I saw yesterday was not the person I met 20 years ago. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but they also give comfort to those that prey on hate and I believe they do not accurately portray the perspective of the black church. They certainly do not accurately portray my values and beliefs. If Reverend Wright thinks that is political posturing on my part, he does not know me very well.

I have already denounced those comments that have come out of these previous sermons. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in my speech in Philadelphia, explaining that he has done enormous good in the church, has built a wonderful conversation. They are a wonderful people and what attracted me has always been the ministries reach beyond church walls. But when he states and then amplifies such ridiculous propositions, that the U.S. government is involved in AIDS, when he suggests that Louis Farrakhan represents one of the greatest voices of the 21st century, when he equates the United States' wartime effort with terrorism, then there are no excuses. They offend me, they rightfully offend all Americans, and they should be denounced. That is what I am doing very clearly and unequivocally here today.

Thought you all might like to see this.

That is what I found so mind boggling...the total lack of respect Rev. Wright gave to Obama, after he went out of his way to not throw him under a bus.

Baffling. But good for him for coming out strong this time. I have an enormous amount of respect for him trying to defend Rev. Wright as his friend. That was not the easy position to take. But Obama definitely also did the right thing when Rev. Wright has now turned against him.

I heard someone say that Rev Wright does not like any blacks that succeed in the "white world". It just boggles the mind some of the things he has said.

I think when Obama first joined that church Wright was not preaching such hatred. The sound bites they have shown have I think been from 2001 and on when Obama was probably not attending church that often after he was elected to the Senate.

I think Wright has the right to defend himself, as he did with Bill Moyers, but I think he now has a different purpose, I am just not sure what it is.

It would be nice to think that people will finally get the message that Wright does not speak for Obama and Obama does not think like Wright.

I want to be positive but for Obama's critics--that group of folks who have no intention of voting for him no matter what--the feedback is going to be 'why didn't he do this before?'

Here is more fodder for Obama to use against McCain.

"Paul Wolfowitz, in his first public remarks on the Iraq war in years, said the American government was "pretty much clueless on counterinsurgency" in the first year of the war."

"No one anticipated this insurgency, a lot of people were slow to recognize it once it started," Mr. Wolfowitz said. "And I do think a real failure — I assign responsibility all over the place..."

Obama was right from the beginning while McCain wants to stay there for 100 years.
