NYE Western Cruise 2008 - New Thread

I had one of my wisdom teeth removed back in May. Mine was not typical, It had a cyst on it growing into my jaw bone. They put me to sleep to remove it, full recovery was a few weeks, but I was eating most foods after a week or so once the swelling went away. I am getting the rest of mine removed at the same time I have jaw surgery in a few weeks.

Kids bounce back a lot quicker then us older folks, I sure he will do fine. It's cool he got in so fast, not a lot of time to dwell on it. Best of luck to your son.

Mika goes in to start a new treatment tomorrow...

I'll keep this going as long as she keeps having a good prognosis. SHe is still eating, it's just difficult to swallow cause her glands are swollen. It hurts to think that any one of these relapses could be her last.

Tigg, I have Cinnamon (my kitty) ashes in a nice urn and its in my den. Sometimes I go sit w/her. I reluctantly got another kitten, but am happy that I did. I didnt want to "replace" Cinnamon... The new kitten, Sassy (and she is just that), was a stray... So it feels good that I was able to give her a good home. She sort of looks like Cinnamon, except she has short fur and is a lot less shy.

Whatever decision you have to make, my thoughts are with you!

I'm surfing the web and watching the phone. I am hoping the doctor will pull another magical cure out of his pocket but know that eventually the remissions will be shorter and treatments harder.

We are not going to let Mika suffer.

I've already decided that when she does go I want her ashes.

I've been on our ressie for awhile now...but i see you got in...so that's dead news....Good Luck with Mika....you know I KNOW how hard that is....we do have Niner's ashes in a maple box urn with a nice bronze inscription next to his "scrapbook" and some "dalmatian"stuff.....I still miss him every day....after 15 yrs, it was like losing a child for sure....

Just got home from the airport. The concert was fantastic, only I spent the whole time wishing Claudia was with me. She is doing great at her conference, she is staying at the Hilton on Hotel Plaza Blvd which is right across the road from DTD, so she has been using Disney Transport in the evenings to go to the parks for dinner.

I think I only know one Devo song.

Let's play one of theses things is not like the other.

I really think James is missing the boat without the funky hat and prison issue jumpsuit with red duct tape.

Seriously though James was amazing, no opening act just him and his band. He played for nearly three hours, and really seemed like he was enjoying himself. A good part of his dialogue between songs he did in french for the Montreal crowd, most of which I didn't understand, but the audience loved it.

Mika had a rough night...

Her glands in her throat are really bothering her. She starts a new treatment today. We'll ride this out and see how she is when her regular doctor gets back next week. She IS my baby. My first ever furbaby for John and I. As long as she is comfortable, we will do this.

Colleen, I'm so sorry to hear that Mika isn't doing well. My thoughts are with you. I was wondering, if you could post the website again for the Magic Matey tee shirts. We have less then 6 months and I'm sure it will go by fast.

I started getting items to put in the Fish Extenders. I'm probably going to make one. Jeff came up with a pretty good idea to use gift bags and fasten them together. I'm thinking that they might tear but I could always bring tape. The more I think about it, the more I think that's what I'll do and add a little more support to them.

I officially started my diet yesterday and am going to stick to it this time. I bought a pretty cocktail dress last year that is black and red and will probably wear that on New Years Eve. However, I need to lose 15lbs. to fit in it. Jeff will be wearing his black suit with a red shirt and white tie.

I was thinking about our cruise dinners. Is it possible, that the late diners in our group can or want to all sit together. I've read trip reports of other groups doing this as well as booking a wine tasting just for their group. What do you all know and think about these ideas?

We had to breakdown and buy our airline tickets. We got them through Southwest for $990 for Jeff and I. The Good news is that we will be in Orlando earlier and will be able to go to the MK on the 25th. We weren't able to get a Candlelight Package on December 26th. All of the packages for each group of restaurants were already gone. Oh well, next time. I was thinking about getting a Disney Cruise PassPorter and want to know if anyone knew if it was worth getting?

I took the Magicmatey site down cause it cost me to keep it up every month...I can make iron on transfers (on a fabric backing) of your choice of whichever logo if you like and then mail them to you.

(or I could email you the jpg if you have good printing capabilities.)

Our 2005 group wound up dining together (Nan would up on a different rotation but we went to the head server the first day and he fixed it right away.) We had 13 at our table.

Since our group this year is a bit bigger, we could link the ressies and at elast try to sit near each other and have the same rotation.

I am still holding out on airfare...gotta get thru the next month or so before I can determine if we will fly or drive down to FL for the cruise. I doubt we'll drive as early as mom but driving is def an option.

I listened to the soundtrack of A Knight's Tale today, one of Heath Ledger's movies. It's got a kick a$$ soundtrack! They (XMs Cinemagic) played Thin Lizzy, BTO and David Bowie all from the movie. I was jammin!

Mika got her treatment. She goes back on Tuesday for a blood panel to make sure none of her internal organs have been affected. As long as they stay healthy, she is ok. She got an extra shot of chemo and has to re-start her steroids for now.

One of my best, fun memories from our 2005 cruise was one night when Grim, Dede, Tig, Dom, Karen, and myself met at Rockin' Bar D after hours. I think Nan was there a bit, but then went to take her kids to see Narnia. Anyway, we did a little drinking, did a lot of laughing, talking, and watching the Santa girls in mini Santa suits do a singing act. It was so relaxing and laid-back, and the place was almost empty, with a few people dancing. It would be great to do that again with our 2008 group!

Deb, do you want me to make you shirts? Tell me what size, what color and which logo and maybe that'll be your first day's gift in your fish extenders

(I would package them so it won't matter what size extender you have on your door. Maybe I'll zip tie them to your door fish )

I know during the day, I like the pool. In the afternoon, I would take in a stage show. Dinner is a must for us (with exception of one or two nights at Palo.) and then whatever show looks good for the evening...sometimes it's a movie on deck, sometimes it'll be at the clubs, I really enjoyed who wants to be a Mousketeer - so maybe one night at the Family club. Karaoke seems to be a must do for this group and a comedian and a magic show would definitely float my boat.

MHO is that we could plan our days at dinner, I would really really like it if the one's who have late dining could try and get the same rotation. If not - the list above will tell you where to find me (and my hubby of course.)
