NYE Western Cruise 2008 - New Thread

My confusion was because I've seen FEs with the multi-pockets that had the names of each family member on them. If we're doing it per family, I won't need the individual pockets. Also, are these going to be one-time gifts, or daily, or dately?

I'm not trying to be a pain, I swear, I'm an easy going girl, but I have brainal issues with details! It was the same last cruise, it took my the longest time to be able to wrap my mind around the gift box thing. So pleeeeeease go easy on me!!

Each family should only have to deliver on one day.

Since there are 9 cabins playing, so far,

on two days - two families would be scheduled to deliver their goodies.

As far as linking, it was the reservation number I wasn't sure about. We each call our TA's with a link. We have alot of people on late dining so we really should decide who's gonna link with who up front~

I'll call DCL now and ask how this is done. I'll volunteer to do the linking for everyone.

DCL 800-951-3532

I called this number, and was told that to link dinner, I need to get everyone's reservation number, and just call back to set it up. She said for a large group that can't all fit at one table, we'd be seated at tables next to each other, and we're free to switch seats each night if we choose, since we'll all be with the same servers.

Is everyone comfortable with this? I can make the call as soon as we decide who would like to do this.

I think I mentioned this a long time ago, but Jeff enjoys going to The Cove Cafe in the evenings for a cigar. If there are others who enjoy that, I could get a break.

Don't worry, I'll stick a cigar in Mel's mouth and sit him down in the Cove Cafe with Jeff. I'll make sure you get your break!:rotfl:

I am going to pass on the linking of table mates for dinner. We enjoy the time with each other as we don't get alot of it at home!! Hope you all understand.

Of course we'll understand! And if we see you across the restaurant, we'll just wave and let you eat with your family in peace!

I am interested in linking for sure. Will send you the ress # in a pm.

W/the fish extenders. I can coordinate the delivery schedule and what not.. if that is ok w/everyone. I have time.

as for the size and amount of pockets.. I think its a personal decision.. and can be up to the individual. As for the types of gifts.. again, I think leave it up to the individual, so that no one feels stressed on what to get.. I do think though, perhaps we should include a postcard from our hometown w/the gifts, so that everyone knows who its from and have postcards from all over! Thoughts?

Of course we will wave to you all:wave2: Thanks for being understanding.

I like the postcard idea, and the leave the contents up to us. I am going to try to do something from our area:) I guess my big question is how much to provide, do we set a dollar limit or what? I don't want to feel bad getting a large gift and only bringing something small or vice versa. Thoughts from anyone that has done this before:confused3

I *knew* there was a Cigar bar!

Do they sell them there or just allow the guys to smoke em there?

John would be in heaven if I could offer him a Cuban in a Cigar Bar ::yes::

I've read that you can buy a good Cuban cigar in all ports except the US. The only rule is you gotta smoke em on the boat~ John loves a good cigar - it's a nasty habit but one that I live with ;)

I'll PM you our ressie number too Aisling - you know we are in.

It's ok if you want to opt out. My only rule to the kids on my last cruise was that they had to show up for dinner. It's a good thing cause if not for that I never woulda seen my daughter  :)

They sell pretty good cigars right on the ship. Only reason I know is that I bought a couple for the guy in operations at work cause he wanted some good cigars.

BTW I need the password to see our ressies. I got as far as the ressie # & they said without the password "Oh Well".

Postcards are good!

IMHO, it'd probably be easier to limit size of items, price is so variable~

I think the final size of the pattern posted here was around 5x7.

Opinions? Ideas? Anybody?

I second Kelly to organize this thing :flower3:

Wow - Ladies if we got together and ran a business it would be VERY successful. Everyone is so organized and helpful. That is great.

Aisling - thank you for volunteering to link the ressies. Let me find mine and send you a pm. If you want as well I can add another page/link off the website for those that want to sit at the same table and then in the same group, etc. I think at the time you link you could also request a dinner rotation - not that we would get it but it can be listed as preference.

Does anyone have a favorite wait staff? If so we could request them for the group, etc. (Selfishly I have one but I'm open to new experiences).

My FE doesn't have any room to apply the MM logo but what I thought about doing was creating a color printout, putting it in protective cover, adding magnetics to the back and put it on our door. Also - and maybe I missed this but are we looking to get T-Shirts for this cruise? If so I am 100% up for that!!!

disneykelly73 - Thank you for organizing the FE days, etc. I can also add that to the website later on if you want. Just let me know.

Mom, PM sent :ssst:

Anjelica: check out cafepress.com

I have an account with them and could have the shirts custom made for a reasonable price. Using that instead of me making them might be the smarter way to go ::yes::

;) Now that we are under six months, the commando planners in all of us have come out :cool1: :wizard: :thumbsup2

I have no preferences on staff...getting this many people on one rotation is gonna be a challenge for DCL already. Just an FYI: "Disney tends to fill requests in the order that they are given."

The actual size of the pattern above is around 8 1/2 inches wide and about 29 inches long, with 4 pockets each about 5 1/2 inche tall. It is perfect even without a rod, as I think the fish is actually a clip, that you could just clip it in.

Bless you!

This cruise is getting more exciting by the minute!

My thoughts about FE gifts, whatever you decide, I'll go with the flow!!

Ok..

So, what age before kids stop wanting to get autographs??? thoughts?

I think that perhaps the gifts need to fit in the FE should be the rule of thumb. Not sure on the price limit thing though...

I am so up for organizing..
