I would think you of all people would know that when it gets petty, its time to give the thread a rest. Not rocket science, the board has moderators who make the decisions they think are best while at the same time keeping the conversation flowing.

Still am, Snoopy, you are correct. I guess my issue isn't as much with the disagreements that took place than the automatic assumption and insinuation that selected people are always the source of the problems, like this thread seems to indicate.

Steve, I think the thread was locked (although I was nighty night when it happened so I really can only speculate) because it got to the point where people were talking hair color and alias names and about stuff that really had nothing to do with the subject at hand. It was petty disagreement, and it had nothing to do with why the schools were closed in Richmond. I would have closed it for the same reason.

Because Ray is such a nice guy, with no ax to grind mind you, I think we should all strive to keep this thread free from conflict and arguments, and hijack the thing to Timbuktu.

I, too, sometimes take a break from this board because of the insanity that seems to run rampant here now and then.

Yes, there are people, I believe, who spend countless hours trying to rile people here. And unfortunately, due to human nature, they succeed.

I have suffered several losses recently in my life and while I used to run here for help and support, I hold back now because evil does exist here as it does everywhere in this world. The idea is to recognize it.

But, Ray, as I'm sure you know, evil eventually trips over their tails. And they MUST exist in order for us to recognize the good ones.

The kind and decent people of this board keep me coming back. And believe me, they outnumber the unkind, vile ones. They are the ones who edify and uplift, not contradict and confuse.

I cannot blame you for how you feel, but like my Dad said the other day, there's one in every family....

Well EROS, sometimes somebody can say you're evil and it can make you feel good.
So Evil can be said in a nice sarcastic way and not be hurtful.

I am tired of people picking on DBers. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing so long as it is done in professional manner. Obviously, there are some topics that are more appropriate for the DB but that does not mean that everyone has to agree as to everything on the CB.

Robin, I don't think people who disagree with others are vile and evil. Also I am EXTREMELY offended by your remark since I happen to belong to that little group of unkind and vile people you are referring to.

Not everyone gets off on being a being a hypocritical Christian with Prayers and PD for all.

Friends, let's take a breather for a moment.

What I see here, is people being labeled and using that label as a focal point of attack.

We are not labels but individual people.

There is a lot of serious stuff going on in the world, whether you are worried about your job because of the economy, worried about war with Iraq or worried about doing what was once a mindless activity like getting gas for your car.

People are stressed and when they are stressed, they may not react to comments that would ordinarily be taken as constructive criticism.

In my humble opinion, complaining about this board and then leaving is not constructive. If you want this board to be a better place, then try to add constructive posts and get people talking and examining their feelings. Sometimes, it hurts to examine why you feel they way you do about something written here. But sometimes the hurt will lead to revelation and personal growth.

Understanding that not everyone believes what you do gives you the opportunity to think about things.

This suggestion is for everyone who visits here.
