Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them evil or vile. People can and do disagree. That is called free will and it is one of G-d's gifts to humanity. Calling someone evil and vile over positions taken or views expressed on a board (espicially a board as bland as the CB) is inappropriate. Even at our worst, the DBers (with some exceptions) do not call each other evil or vile just because we disagree. I know that there are many people on the DB who strongly disagree with my political views on the DB but I do not remember being called evil or vile.

Yes it Robin.....I think evil is lacking compassion for other human beings when they are obviously tortured. I think evil is pm'ing back and forth about someone and smiling in their face. There are a lot of faces of evil and one of them might be condemning people for not thinking or acting like "the crowd".

I totally agree....

I called people vile and evil who ACT vile and evil, not because they disagree with me.

If they disagree with me I am sorry. I don't mind differences of opinion AT ALL. I obviously have one! I don't mind if you disagree with me, I just don't find it appropriate to be nasty about it.

Gee, I guess the terminology was too strong but on a site where there is nothing but the written word I had to use what I was thinking.

I personally find "yes men" uninteresting. I have been on this board for years knowing that MANY people don't have my views but that's not my goal or intention. I just stated an opinion, as everyone else here has. And as everyone insists, that is my right, isn't it?

And if the CB is so bland, why come here??? CBers come here for whatever they come here for and they get called quite a few names for it also.

Because of work, DIS Con planning and vacation, I haven't been around here much so I apologize in advance if I am speaking out of turn. But this thread seems to be getting way off topic and is leading down the same road that the locked thread was.

Jenn, I think your words ring true. People are not always what they seem and words may not have a hidden meaning based on past posts. Unfortunately, sometimes they do and it is hard to realize what is real and what is implied.

Ray, you really do have to have a thick skin to be here sometimes, but I would love to see more of you here. You are truly a kind gentleman.

As for "evil" people posting here, IMHO people's words are not necessarily evil, but they can be very mean-spirited, mocking and sometimes, cruel. Some people don't see their words as cruel, but to many, they are. If folks could take the "edge" off their words and if you are angry, don't reply until you have cooled down, it would keep the discussions civil...... a pipe dream I know, but it would be nice.

As for this thread, any more of the back and forth nonsense and I am locking it. Enough.

One of them might be just condemning the crowd for being themselves. Since I take it I'm included whenever I hear it, or maybe because I have no problems with these people, just want to say thanks a bunch to everyone concerned. Again. I don't see removing a post as exclusionary minnie, I see it as removing something that could be hurtful or sarcastic to others. If one is not involved, it is not necessary to go back and rehash old dirt anyway. I guess it is like people "rubber-necking" to see a car accident. Can we please just move on, people?
