November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

Due to possible DVC meet time do those people who are putting together the Dis meet want to maybe move it to Saturday before or after the sailaway party?

Hi all, just checking in on the thread. I am in the middle of a project and have been working 80 hour weeks for the last three weeks, hopefully only one more crazy week to go. After that I need to move in to cruise prep mode!

See you in 5 weeks.
Rick

I know how working those hours go. I'm close to that. About 72 and I've been doing that since January. Hopefully that will slow down for me right before the cruise. Maybe! But alas when I get back from the cruise all that work will be staring me right in the face again. Oh well, it is great to see you back. It has been a while. I think we are all getting into the cruise prep mode now. I can't believe it is almost here.

Why is this a special one, is there something you have not shared???? Nosey folks like me wan to know.

Isn't this a special one for you and Steve and the reason why we are wearing Hawaiian shirts.

Are you guys wearing the Hawaiian shirts to the Vow renewal? If you need a good and inexpensive link to order one let me know. We ordered Steve's and it is very nice and it came from Hawaii.

We have look-a-like shirts that we purchased a long time ago for riding the bikes, but never really wore them. They are mostly blue with a beach like flare for the pattern, but you can email me the link anyway maybe I can see what they have and change our colors to something more brighter. Send to my email address as I need to also ask you another question and you can answer both at the same time. See you in 33 days.:yay:

First off...Welcome. Secondly.. you will be joining a few of us on the Butterfly excursion. We do St Thomas on our own and go to Megans Bay. It is wondeful there. You can hire the taxi as soon as you get off the ship.

I was thinking of the Butterfly Excursion as I thought it would be pretty neat. Just never signed up for it. Wonder if I still have time. I'll see.

I was able to get into the Butterfly Excursion. I saw this excursion online months ago when I was looking through the excursions, but decided to hold off on it. I really like to cruise and relax unless there is something I really want to see. I did want to see this, but held off as I didn't want to be held accountable to a clock. I just wanted to relax the whole time, but I still kept it in the back of my mind. Then when I decided to go I figured it was to late. Glad I tried it now. This should be a nice excursion and worth it to get up early, at least one day of the cruise. :)
I'm okay :thumbsup2 with changing the time for the Meet and Greet. I can't remember what time the ship departs. The time of 4 or 5 sticks in my head for some reason. We could have the meeting at 3 or 3:30 before we sail so we can all meet and still be able to be on deck when we depart.
Got to run have some :laundy: to finish up and have some work from work :surfweb: to complete.
Have a great Sunday everyone. See you all in 34 days. :cool1:  :yay:

If I remember correctly 4 pm is the life jacket drill so I think 3 pm on Saturday would be a great time to do our dis meet (also allow us to get to handing surprises out earlier too) and we would still have plenty of time to get to our life boat drill and then off to the sail away party. :yay:

I too am fine with meeting before the muster drill and sailaway party.

I jjust noticied that we are only to 905 posts. This thread has been going for quite some time. I wonder if we will make 1000 posts before the cruise. This is definately a quiet group.

:) We are getting to the one month mark. I bet the excitement will start rolling very soon and we all won't be able to keep oursleves off of the site talking to one another about how much fun we are all going to have. I know that with every day that passes I find myself on the site a little longer each day.

Nothing like the chatty group of 2006. Well I'm off to bed. Had to finish stuff for work before I went to bed and 5:30AM will come around real fast at this rate. Hope everyone has a great work week.

The group that me and 1DisneyQueen were with in 2006 posted a little over 6000 posts. It was a very chatty group. Some of us even met once a week in a chat room for about an hour or so and chatted about the trip and everything else.
Well I'm off. I am sure it will get more chatty in the next few weeks. I can't believe that the trip is almost here. Seems like just yesterday when I thought, there is still yet a year to go before the trip. Now we have just enough time to dig the suitcases out and start putting in things that we need for the trip.
Want to start getting my stuff for the game as I don't want to wait until the last minute. I saw some things that I want to get and need to do it now or it will disappear. I'm going to start by using what is on the last list that Morgan4 posted. (I too have been keeping a list of everyone as they signed on so that I would have it.) The last people on my list that want to be involved with the game are: two and twins (2 adults 2 girls age 8) and
dleem63 (two adults). Those are the last two names that have appeared on the thread in the past week or so. Well off to bed I go it is now 2:30 and I'll only get 3 hours of sleep now. Again have a great week.:cool1:

Hi all
We will be joining you on this cruise :goodvibes
There will be me Samantha (Sam) and my DH Colin. We love DCL and this will be our 4th time on the Magic.
Beginning to get really excited about the cruise and suddenly realised I hadn't stopped by to say hello and meet you all.
We will be travelling from the UK and staying at BCVs after the cruise.

Welcome Tiggery!!! glad to have you on the cruise. When are you flying in?

We're flying in the day before and staying at BCVs. Hopefully we will be awake enough with the time difference to enjoy a couple of hours of the F&W festival before we fall asleep.:faint:

I would like to get a copy of the art from Mozart with the patriotic Mickey that says Happy Veteran's Day from DeAnna and J.R. to put on our wall. I tried to do it myself with a blank one but not able to get. If you could PM me one I would appreciate it.

I do not have enough posts to PM yet, lurk on the boards but don't post much.

Thank you!

We have not gotten shirts yet. Can't seem to find the time to sit Mark down to find a shirt. He will probably wear a white shirt instead.

I didn't know there was a change in plans. I thought we were exploring the island by Taxi on both days. Crap now I need to look at making plans to do stuff. I guess we may just explore on our own then.

So, how is everyone? I've been reading the posts but haven't posted in a long time. :hourglass :hourglass

Well, it sounds like everyone is getting excited.. just like us. I think moving the meet to Saturday at around 3pm is a great idea. It gives everyone a chance to meet right away and gives our children a chance to meet some other children their age before they even go to the clubs. I know on our last cruise we meet on Deck 3 in the Promenade Lounge and it was great because we were the only ones in there.

I finally booked my hotel for the night before the cruise at the Radisson at the Port. I had been putting it off for a couple of months because the Radisson hadn't been available every time I looked (and looked :badpc: ... and looked :badpc: ). I just couldn't decide on another hotel because we have always stayed there and then this weekend I decided I had to book something. Well all of a sudden the Radisson was available again. So that is taken care of and they could even get us on the 10am shuttle. Anyone else staying here the night before? We probably won't get in until late because we are driving from Virginia :drive: and won't be leaving until around 10:30am or so that morning. DD8 and DS6 have school that day but it is a half day so I'm just going to get them an hour early so they don't miss another day of school. I already feel guilty about taking them out for 5 days the next week.

Now, I need to get everything ready for packing and I need to buy a few last minute items.

Well HI   to everyone and I can't wait to meet everybody.

Gretchen

We booked our cruise two weeks ago so we are officially going. Being Florida residents it makes it easier to go at the last minute. I work in a law firm and our trial schedule is crazy and don't know when you can go until them. Makes it great to have Florida Resident specials.

I have read through the posts and it appears everyone is ready for fun and relaxation. It will just be me and my roommate, two adults, no children. This is our third Disney cruise by first 7 day cruise on Disney. We did a Carnival 7 day in May from Tampa and actually had a good time.

We have booked to go to the Butterfly Farm with DCL on St. Marten but not sure of what to do in St. Thomas yet.

Welcome aboard! We will be joining you on the Buttrtfly Farm.

Not sure about Fish Extenders, can someone tell me if it is too late or what is the last date to decide. If it is too late, next time is fine.

Look forward to meeting some wonderful people on this cruise.

I believe it is Morgan4 is from Ohio, where? I was born in Massillon and all of my uncles and cousins still live in that area.

If you have questions about Orlando, let me know. We live here full time. LOL

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

I just noticed on the main cruise board that it was mentioned on the 7 day Eastern cruise that the DVC meeting is at 10 am normally on Sunday. Anyone know if this is standard or true for our Nov 8th cruise? This is the same time I think I read that the Dis'ers want to meet. I think there are lots of DVC members that may want to be able to attend both. Anyone thought about meeting sometime Saturday after the sailaway party perhaps in order to get the maps and everything out earlier and also allow for everyone to get to both meetings. I don't want to pick just one. :confused3 I want to be able to do it all of course . . . even though on Disney cruises it is never possible. ;)

I too was thinking that the DVC meet may be the same time. We always go to it, so whatever time you want to meet we will work it out. Remember that at 3:00 everyone is not always on the ship.

Welcome to you, Tiggery! It will be great to make more friends from the UK. We are also staying at BCV prior to cruise. There will be four of us so maybe we will meet before we get on the ship.

Have a wonderful trip.

Did everyone see the exciting Disney 2010 itinerary?! We are ready to think about Europe again!:cool1: .

Hi Everyone and welcome to all of the new people who will be joining us on this Cruise!!!!:wizard:

I just booked to do the Butterfly Anytime in St. Thomas, for my mom and I to do together! We both like Butterfly's, so it should be fun to do and see!

Also I am fine if we meet at 3:00p.m. or 3:30p.m. We are taking the DCL bus, getting picked up at the Swan Resort, so I am thinking we should get to the port at 1:00 or 1:30 p.m.

Pixie Dust II,

Did you get your t-shirts made? Just wondering how they turned out, could you please post a picture( when you get a chance).

I am planning on making shirts with the Logo you made, only add my username to it and my name. That way everyone will be able to see us and know we are DISboard members!

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone in person! We have a great group of people going on this Cruise!!!!:goodvibes
