November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

No matter how busy you are you always have time. :worship: It just amazes me that you always have so much energy. In the next week or so I'll be digging out the suit cases and packing some things that I know won't be used until we are on vaca. I think there are hair dryers in the bathroom on the ship? I just can't remember. It would be nice to not have to bring that, but I guess I may have to just in case. Had my hair done last Saturday. Got it cut and colored a color I would have never done before, but I felt daring. Takes a little more work to make it look nice, which is something I don't like to waste time on, but that's life. As far as the color I thought I might as well do it now as soon I'll be to old to take a risk like this. :lmao: I'll send you a pic. The color has toned down since it was done. I think when washing it in the beginning the color rinses out and then it stops at a certain point. I like it and so does DH and I guess that's all that counts.:thumbsup2 Well, let me run. Dental appointment at 8AM. :scared1: What a way to start the day! Can't believe it is on 39 days til we leave for FL. :woohoo: It is fast approaching. I'm so looking forward to this much needed vaca. It will be nice knowing that I don't have to work both jobs for a week. :cool1:

Hair dryers are in the bathroom so don't have to pack one. My defense is scheduled for Oct 30th so I will not be packing until the week before the cruise. I sure hope all those clothes I got from the last cruise still fit, or else I'll be limited on clothes to pack :) Not much time to think about the cruise for me since I'm trying to prepare and find an apt in Boston. Mom, AD, and I are coming up later in Oct to look for an apt for me in Nov. Can't wait for the cruise b/c that means all this will be over !!!

Of course I will. Already have it in the plans.
Yeah talked to mom yesterday night and she let me know you guys already have it all laid out in the plans :woohoo:

Gotta love have parents still continue to take care of their kids long after they have left home be be on their own. :worship: Parents are the greatest!!!:cheer2:

Well, I spent yesterday trying on clothes and sorting clothes and wondering why I bought some of the clothes I bought:confused3 ! I really am going to TRY to pack light this time!

Today dh found the stack of things I have on the other side of the bed in one of the spare bedrooms!:rotfl2: I have already started my line-up of what I am packing---bathing suit, sun hat, gifts for fish extenders, etc and opps he ran right into it!:scared1: I have to start putting things together as I think of them or I will not remember the obvious things at the last minute.

I am trying to talk the dog sitting into staying at our house. Princess Jasmine will love her to death no matter where, but I would really like it if someone is in my house while we are away!

I printed the logo's for the shirts today I used Avery dark t-shirt transfers. Hopefully we will iron them on tomorrow. Planned to do that job over the weekend, but just did not get to it. When they are done, I will take a picture and post it for you.

We escaped the soggy weekend somehow so are still having nice sunny fall weather.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Are we going to try to post photos before we meet?

Are we going to try to post photos before we meet?
that is a good idea! anyone staying at the Comfort Inn the night before?? We are doing the park and cruise package and I was trying to make a resevation for the shuttle and she said just show up. I am afraid it will be a mad house free for all. Anyone familiar with CI?

Thanks PixieDust, WendyJersey and 1DisneyQueen for your suggestions. I have put together a map to make finding everyone easier. I can pm 5 names at a time, and since DisneyQueen has 5 rooms, that brings us down to only four pms. But I like the idea of handing them out at the meet n greet too. I guess I have a couple of weeks to decide.

1DisneyQueen~~ I would post the names on the FE list, but do you think anyone would mind? I could just post the cabin numbers, that way everyone could check to see if they are on that list.

How do you do the multiple quotes in your post. I though that I was doing that, but oviously I wasn't and now I can't remember who all I was replying too! :lmao:

My mind is mush!! Back to sewing pirate costumes!!! Too much to do, not a lot of time to do it!!

Do you see the "+ symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the post you want to quote? Click that and every other post you want to quote. After you have selected all then click "quote" and type away. I hope that helps and it is clearer than mud

What we have done in the past is just list (by DIS name) thoses signed up for the FE, or event. It also lets folks personalize their gifts. To answer your question, No I do not think folks would mind if you listed their names. So they can verify they are on your list or if they have changed their mind and forgot to tell you they will see that as well. Some folks do not want their cabin# posted for non participants. I can understand that, you do not want folks stalking you and trying to get your Mickey Bars.:lmao: I mean most folks cannot read the name on your door magnet;)

Anyway, I do try to respect people decsions and not publicaly give out cabin#.

How neat. Didn't know that one. That makes it better. You can anwer everyone all at once. Although it doesn't help if you are doing a marathon thread count before the cruise like the one we did back in 2006! Every post was counted towards the big 6000 mark.
I can't wait til the trip because this is going to be a special one! :bride:

We booked our cruise two weeks ago so we are officially going. Being Florida residents it makes it easier to go at the last minute. I work in a law firm and our trial schedule is crazy and don't know when you can go until them. Makes it great to have Florida Resident specials.

I have read through the posts and it appears everyone is ready for fun and relaxation. It will just be me and my roommate, two adults, no children. This is our third Disney cruise by first 7 day cruise on Disney. We did a Carnival 7 day in May from Tampa and actually had a good time.

We have booked to go to the Butterfly Farm with DCL on St. Marten but not sure of what to do in St. Thomas yet.

Not sure about Fish Extenders, can someone tell me if it is too late or what is the last date to decide. If it is too late, next time is fine.

Look forward to meeting some wonderful people on this cruise.

I believe it is Morgan4 is from Ohio, where? I was born in Massillon and all of my uncles and cousins still live in that area.

If you have questions about Orlando, let me know. We live here full time. LOL

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

:welcome: dleem63. We look forward to meeting you. I believe you can still join in the the FE. Just Pm Morgan4. The info is on pg. 1 of the thread.

Hi all, just checking in on the thread. I am in the middle of a project and have been working 80 hour weeks for the last three weeks, hopefully only one more crazy week to go. After that I need to move in to cruise prep mode!

See you in 5 weeks.
Rick

I do not have the ability to PM it seems so I was wondering if someone could help me get added to the list of those wishing to participate. I am working on making a fish extender and would like to have our cabin added to the list.

Our cabin number is 6576. There are 2 adults (DH and myself) and one DD17.

And do you tell us when we deliver our surprises to everyone? I am new to all this but it sounded so fun I couldn't pass it up. Do we go over all this at the meet? And can anyone tell me when the meet is? Thanks for everyone's help. I am so glad I found the Dis boards and our cruise meets.

No wonder you haven't been posting in a while, My DH is very busy at work also, he went to Vegas/Arizona last week then leaving again on monday for Costa Rica this time. He really needed this vacation so he can relax (so are you!). A lot girls in our DIS group if i'm not mistaken our sons are the only boys in their age group.

Morgan4 is the one organizing the Gift Exchange. I think the meet is scheduled on Sunday the 9th (sea day) at 10am, for more info check out page 1.

Dleem63, :welcome: :welcome:

Why is this a special one, is there something you have not shared???? Nosey folks like me wan to know.

Are you guys wearing the Hawaiian shirts to the Vow renewal? If you need a good and inexpensive link to order one let me know. We ordered Steve's and it is very nice and it came from Hawaii.

We have booked to go to the Butterfly Farm with DCL on St. Marten but not sure of what to do in St. Thomas yet.

First off...Welcome. Secondly.. you will be joining a few of us on the Butterfly excursion. We do St Thomas on our own and go to Megans Bay. It is wondeful there. You can hire the taxi as soon as you get off the ship.

I just noticed on the main cruise board that it was mentioned on the 7 day Eastern cruise that the DVC meeting is at 10 am normally on Sunday. Anyone know if this is standard or true for our Nov 8th cruise? This is the same time I think I read that the Dis'ers want to meet. I think there are lots of DVC members that may want to be able to attend both. Anyone thought about meeting sometime Saturday after the sailaway party perhaps in order to get the maps and everything out earlier and also allow for everyone to get to both meetings. I don't want to pick just one. :confused3 I want to be able to do it all of course . . . even though on Disney cruises it is never possible. ;)

I know I have asked this before, but just thought I would put it out here again.

I was just wondering if anyone else on here is going to be on the Main Dinner seating time? It's just my mom and I on this cruise, so I know we will be seated with other people( which is fine with us). Thought it would be nice to be seated with another DISboard member if it worked out.

Also does anyone know when they have the Castaway Club party?

And can anyone go to the DVC Meeting or do you have to be DVC members already?

Tomorrow~ Oct.5, puts us at the 30 day mark!!!!!!!!!! As my mom and I leave for WDW on Nov.5  :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2:  :cloud9:

There are two different types of DVC meetings from what I understand. One that is for current DVC members to meet each other and then I think their are two other DVC meetings for everyone to attend and learn about DVC with prize drawings and lots of fun. I went to one and ta-da now I am a member. Of course I first heard about it a year before at a presentation at WDW. I loved that there was no pressure like other companies do. Of course with Disney who needs pressure? :lmao: No need to twist my arm. :cool1:

I was gonna post the same thing. This would be our first cruise as DVC members so i'm really excited to attend that meeting maybe they have raffles for us too! Dis meet before or after the sailaway party sounds good to me.
