November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

I found this link
It sounds like from the first paragraph we will be getting tendered in and dropped off at Charlotte Amelia.

That is only if there are six ships in port on any given day, if you go back to the vinow site, you will see on November 15 that one of the ships has anchorage after the ship name. They will be anchored in Charlotte Amalie harbor and tendered in. The way it looks on the schedule, if there are three or less ships in port they fill up Havensight, the next two ships fill up the Crown Bay port and the sixth ship will tender in. I hope this clears up the confusion, although still don't know where the Crown Bay dock is located.

Thanks, From what I read it is west of Charlotte Amelia. The other link I posted, gives some taxi fees and stuff from Crown Bay.

On our January Eastern we thought we were going to end up at Crown Bay (scheduled that way).

However, we ended up being tendered at Charlotte Amalie.

Have no idea why that happened.

I wanted to know what did you all do on your last cruise in St. Martin. I am still trying to figure out if it is better to just meander around the town via taxi or go on an actual tour. What are your thoughts.

Second question (I am still stuck on the weather), what were the temperatures on your cruise in January? Were you able to swim on the ship? How did you pack?

Thanking you in advance for your comments.

When we went in 2002, we did a snorkeling excursion(Shipwreck Cove Snorkel Tour). We then just walked around for awhile on our own. We docked right next to a beach so we were able to enjoy that for awhile.

We had friends go with us and they did the Butterfly Farm tour thru Disney. They said it was a good tour, but would have done it by themselves.

I just looked on the Disney Cruise site that gives temperatures of the Islands and right now it is 87 Degrees in St. Thomas.

The temperatures should be warm enough to swim on the ship. If you are coming from cold weather, then anything will be warm. I know I have been to Disney in January and I have been able to swim in their pools. The caribbean is a lot further south then Orlando. Also for most Kids, They do not know the meaning of Cold when there is something fun to do. I am a swim coach and have lifeguarded for years and they always seem to get in the water when adults think it is freezing.

I would make sure to pack some type of light jacket because even in the summer it get colds on deck with the wind at night.

Hopefully I was able to give you some insight.

I would agree, it should be warm when we go. On our first disney cruise the temperatures were in the 80-90 degree range. We sailed in Mid-December, so I am guessing it will be comparable.

Woohoo!! Docs have arrived :cool1: . Now I have more stuff to read through! The luggage tags are lime green :bounce: :bounce: .

Just got our doc's. :cool1: 17 days till we leave for Disney World. We are ready to go.

They also said we will have staggered dining for the late seating - 8:00. 8:15 & 8:30. Hope we get 8:00!

We're counting the days here!

Greetings all!

I will be cruising on Magic on November 26th. I have a question for any SCUBA Divers out there.

Have any of you dived with DCL before? What was your experience. Which sites did you go to? What were the boats and guides like?

Does anyone know what the names of the dive charter operators that Disney uses in St. Maarten and St. Thomas? We are looking for a great dive experience. (Smaller boats, better reefs).

For the conveinience, I think I would rather have the group book thru DCL than independently, however I do not like the "cattle boat" experience. (Big Boats, lot of people, crowded dive, etc.)

See y'all soon!
:cool1:

Last DCL, we were able to see a few new releases. Does anyone know if Chicken Little or Harry Potter will be playing on the ship? How often do they change the movies? You all are the experts. Every question I have had, you all have been able to answer. So once again, I am thanking you in advance for your responses.

My youngest DS wants to see Chicken Little and I told him that we would be able to see it on the ship. :3dglasses I hope that is true.

Congratulations to all of you "Documents Holders". I checked the mail hoping that we would have them today. (They were mailed yesterday - so I was just doing some wishful thinking.) I am looking forward to finishing my packing this weekend. I need to get the sundries, but I am just about there. I am just trying to figure out what else we need. :scratchin I guess I need to follow my list.

Well that's all for now. See you guys in a few short weeks.

Welcome SMS, you seem vaguely familiar. Are you possibly from NYS ;) ?

Eddjmom, there is a phone number you can call the week before to see what movies are playing. I am also hoping that Chicken Little is still playing, I am waiting to see it. The live thread stated they premiered Chicken Little at 12:01 am today.

Hi Dialady FYI - I called Disney a while ago to make my final payment, and they asked me if I had a preferred seating time (we are late seating as well). I requested an 8:00 seating. The CM I spoke with put in my request, and said that they are usually honered. It might be worth a phone call for you.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Can't wait for our first cruise!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am getting so overwhelmed....but good thing is the online stuff I ordered is starting to arrive...I will have to check the mail for our docs, but if you went through a travel agency, do they get it first and then forward it on?? I haven't heard anything from them (AAA) saying that they had arrived.

Anyways, had to come in and say hi to everyone...going to get the stuff for the door signs, magnets, and home depot mickeys tomorrow! :)

Hi Michelle. Yes, if you went through a travel agency, DCL will send the documents to them and then they will forward them to you. I checked with my TA at Cruise.com. She said Disney usually sends docs to them 2-3 weeks prior to sailing, so hopefully we will get ours sometime next week. I did see that you can go on the DCL website and print up most of the paperwork you will get in your document packet (embarkation form, payment authorization form, medical information form , etc.), so you can get them filled out ahead of time.

I will probably we hitting Home Depot tomorrow to pick up our Mickeys. I guess I had better start looking for my magnets as well. I might even get ambitious and start getting out clothes to be packed. See you all in 3 short weeks! :teeth:

SMS1 - First of All Welcome to the Meet Thread. I have added you but do not have a lot of information. Hopefully you have found the post that has all the information about when our Cruise Meet is and all the other people going and that type of information. If not, it is post #358 in this thread and a link to it is at the bottom of my signature.

Diving - My DW dove thru Disney 3 years ago. I think they only limit a certain amount of people for that excusion. So if you have more than 8 people that want to dive, you may be forced to do it independently. I know it is a little bit cheaper to do it that way also. Right now my DW is signed up to the St. Maarten dive, since she did the St. Thomas dive last time. Unfortunately, I have tried to find out who Dsney uses, but could not. I have not called Disney though.

SMS1 - I think TJGorman is trying to find out whether or not you are part of her BIG Group that is going. She knows someone from her group is trying to set up Scuba Diving and she thinks it may be you. She is going on this same cruise.
