November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

lisarae - Hi, don't know if you got me email. I tried to send you the Excel spreadsheet and it kept coming back. I tried from my hotmail, work and home. Do you have a different email to send it to?

I had heard that you can charge the tips onto your stateroom account and didn't have to have cash for them? If you go to guest services they can charge it? Is this still correct? I do not know if I want to carry all that cash in addition to our spending cash...That was what I was planning to do anyways... :cheer2:

Yes, You can charge the Tips to your stateroom account.

Hi ,

I am trying to keep up with this link, feeling really ovverwhelmed.

1. Are there new boarding procedures?

2. What's the mickey heads?
3. is there a link for packing lists. I thought i saw one a while ago.

And lastly, I think Michelle was concerned about docs. My TA had the docs and is planning to send them out Mon. Call your TA and verify they have your correct address.

Now, i have to gather all the birth certificates. I think I only have copies, so I am glad I looked this site over. How many days are left?
CJ :wave2:
I see you said you had copies of your birth certificates. Just make sure they have a raised seal on them, a copy with the seal not raised won't work. Don't want to see anyone get denied boarding!!

Hi all,

If anyone needs any local information from the Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach area, just ask. We can probably also find out about Orlando information if anyone needs that. Glad to help anyway we can.

LisaRae

LisaRae,

Any good ideas for a family dinner spot that's not a chain?

I hit Home Depot yesterday and got my Mickey swatches...I have my magnets and found some great deals at Target on Pirate gear for the kids.

My packing area is growing larger. I am getting so excited.

I'm going to MNF tonight to watch my Pats beat the Colts. :cool1: I'll need a day off tomorrow to recover from a late night.

Mine too, my DH is getting to the point where he doesn't want to look. I am not allowed to talk cruise with him until we are 15 days out. Gosh, that is just around the corner!!!!

I understand the mickey tags for the cruise meets but what are the magnets for? It's been awhile since I've been on here! Thanks!
We can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holly - A lot of us are going to trade magnets. The magnets should be of a hometown/state theme. Just something little to do to remind people of who we met and where they are from. We are going to bring 10(5 pp). You do not have to bring 5 pp, you can bring 5 for the whole family. With 10, we should get 10 different magnets.

Once again, if there any questions about certain things, check on Post #358 and hopefully I have covered it. If not and you think it should be covered on that post please let me know.

Not a problem. I will update the list.

Well my Mom and I picked up our magnets yesterday (we live in a tourist town so pretty easy). We saw some great pirate t-shirts that we'll have to go back for (shop was closed).

Our countdown for vacation is now 11 days! We started packing last night! DD has started getting her assignments from school so she can work ahead on them (homework on vacation is the pits).

See you all in 19 days!

At Port Canaveral, there are two restaurants that the locals really like: Grills and Fishlips. I haven't been to Fishlips, but I've heard great things about it. At Grills, I usually get the special Mahi Mahi platter or sandwich. I think everything they have is good though.

In Cocoa Beach, there is a fancy restaurant where the astronauts used to eat called Bernard's Surf. Attached to it is a less fancy restaurant called Rusty's. (Rusty is Bernard's son.) They both have basically the same menu, just a very different atmosphere. Bernard's Surf has a great Caesar salad and a wonderful Banana's Foster, both made at the table, in case you want to get ready for your fancy dining onboard the ship.

Also, in Cocoa Beach is a little Cuban restaurant called Roberto's Little Havana that has delicious food, and great Cuban sandwiches.

Hope this helps.

Bernard's Surf is awesome, but pretty fancy. If it were just me and DH, I'd go back in a second. However, we have our two kids (3 & 13) so that is not a option for us. We ate at the Original Fish House our last visit to Cocoa Beach. Good food at a reasonable price. We even saved more with a Restaurant.com gift certificate. Looking forward to seeing everyone in 19 days!

Hello fellow cruisers....
Talking to my DW tonight and she brought to my attention that this is the first cruise vacation - 7 day - that we are taking since we have moved back into our home....unfortunately on July 4, 2004 we had a house fire and lost our entire home, our pets and all of our momentos from 26 years of marriage....and we are blessed to report that we are back home, the house is better than it ever was(and thank God for our great insurance company...believe me...they were great and fair).....
But this is the most relaxed we have been looking forward to our vacation....so if you see a big guy sleeping on deck 4 all the time....it's me....with my DCL 2004 hat and my green Mickey ears.....
As Mickey says...."See you all real soon"!
Tom & Marilou
7119 (could change at the port if the price is right)! :cool1: :Pinkbounc ::MickeyMo (me)

Tom, and Marilou, you deserve a fabulous cruise then. Hope all is going better, and it will be smooth sailing for us.

Just came in to say.....
DOIN' THE DOC DANCE!! (Never thought these days would come! :goodvibes )

We should be doing the doc dance by this time tomorrow. Received notification that our documents were sent from Ft. Lauderdale via DHL today. Usually only takes one day for us, as we are near Tampa. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I went to Home Depot today to get our Mickey Heads. Are we doing the Alien Green ones? I got 4 of those and 4 of the next darkest color, just in case. Still haven't found any magnets, but I will devote more time to finding some this weekend.

18 days and counting down! :Pinkbounc

We received our documents on Monday. :cool1: I called my TA because there was only one document book. Last year, we received a document book for each person. I was told that DCL now only sends one to each address. This is something new since last year.

I went to Home Depot today. I have the swatches and the magnets. I am all set.

I even called Disney to find out about the movies. We will have Chicken Little showing on the ship. :3dglasses My kids were excited about this. There were a couple more that my oldest DS wants to see - The greatest game ever played and Flight plan. Still no word if Harry Potter will be playing. :wizard:

I also made reservations for our pre-cruise golf trip to World Golf Village in St. Augustine.

Thank God, things are progressing well. I went and picked up a larger memory card for my digital camera. I did not think about it until I went over the detailed packing list. That list is so very helpful.

I hope that everyone is gearing up for our trip in 18 days. My younger DS asks everyday if it is time for vacation.

My weekly question for the group - Homework. :teacher: I read that someone was getting their child ahead by doing their classwork now. I read that there is a room on the ship to do homework. I don't want to do that. What are the other parents doing? In my locality, the DC is not an approved absence. We will get a letter from the school board as a result of the days off, but I have informed the kids' teachers of the trip and they will give me the work on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I think I will let them do the homework while the DH is playing golf. Would to love to read your thoughts.

Well that's all for now. Take care and get to packing :earboy2:
