November 21, 2012: Giving Thanks(giving) for a DREAM come true!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the TURKEY-Day Cruise... I will be sailing with DH Larry and DD Lindsey (13) and me Wendy...

We are planning on staying at Animal Kingdom for a few nights then heading to the cruise.

Glad to help with FE/.

Looking forward to it.

Well we are officially paid as we get to book excursions, Palo etc. tomorrow night at midnight.

We are Chuck, Lisa and DS Mason (13 at sailing).
We also will have with us Lisa's sister Laura, her hisband Dave and their son Morgan (11).

The third family with us is Wendy/Larry/Lindsay in the immediately above post and will all be on FE.

That is awesome-we are silver- so have to wait until Aug 23, let us know what you get and all. What are you looking to book?

Also NikkiSteve, where in Baltimore? I am from the suburbs.

I was born and raised in Pikesville, though i attended Boys Latin. My family still lives in Pikesville and Owings Mills.

I'm not sure if anyone's posted this yet, I haven't seen it. Another cruise we're doing in September has a Facebook group which is really helping us to connect, especially with spouses/partners, and so I thought I'd set one up for this cruise as well in case anyone is interested. It will make it easy to keep up with each other and hopefully build a great sense of community before the big trip!

I copied the other group I belong to and made it private - anyone can find us, but can't read our posts unless they join.

If someone else has already done this, I can delete, of course! :-)

Cool- I requested to join. :)

We have done FB on some cruises, but I prefer Disboards b/c the information is out there for other prospective cruisers to see. When you use FB, it becomes much more limited...that said, I may well turn out to be in the minority here.

Great idea! I just asked to join. I'll feel more comfortable sharing kids' names in a closed group, too! :-)

Hello everyone!

It has been quite awhile since I was on here. Ahhh, the effects of kids and summer! :)
Anyway, hopefully I will be far more active on this message board now. Can't wait for the cruise. I also requested to join the FB group.

We have been super busy this summer too, it seems to calm down a bit when school starts, then I will get into full vacation mode!!! :cool1:

Sorry I've been away from the thread for so long. I've been trying to keep the cruise in the back of my mind out of fear I'll go out of my mind with anticipation!

Just made our final payment and will be trying to book a Palo brunch (along with all the other Silver Castaway Club members) at midnight tonight. So now it's "really really real" and I can allow myself to start really preparing.

Please add my gang to the Fish Exchange. We should have a nice size group. Does anyone want to try to meet up for the sailaway party? I did that with another cruise meet group and it was a great way to get to know each other right off the bat.

Hello!

Yes, I am started to get excited as well! :cheer2::cheer2:

We are also all paid up. Gotta get my kids signed up and such.

For kids under age 16, do they have to have passports or does a birth certificate suffice? Anyone know?

Thanks!

The "passports vs birth certificate" debate is pretty lively on the DIS Boards or was, the last time I had checked. While children can board with just a birth certificate, passports are highly recommended. In the event of an emergency, you will have less hassle getting home if everyone in your family has a passport. That being said, my children and I have sailed without them in the past. I think we're going to get passports this time around just for the extra piece of mind -- and for the coolness factor of getting our passports stamped in Nassau.

My DD9 has one, and we recently had to renew it for this cruise. With just one kid, not as expensive. :goodvibes
