November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

Hi Dis Nurse. We have strolled around Saratoga Springs but have not stayed there. Are you a DVC member? If not - try to see if you can get one free night if you take the DVC tour. It prob. won't work but you never know. They have a fitness club and a spa. The pool is nice, with a slide and a rock grotto and a pool bar. The resort is new so it is not complete and the landscaping is not as flush as others (after 4 hurricanes, landscaping suffers at WDW regardless). There is a small food court, not as large as the more traditional resorts such as Pop Century. There is a gathering room, and billiards and of course a full kitchen. Key West Resort is older and may have cheaper rates with many of the same amenities. And you cannot beat the Wilderness Lodge vacation club.....

We just love the Disney magic inside the resort. :earsboy: Even if you stay 1 mile outside the park, you hit the traffic, the other businesses and it just is not Disney.

There is a new hotel inside the traffic patterns of WDW - Fairfield Orlando at Bonnet Creek. We have driven by but have never stayed there....Staying here would not ruin the Disney magic because you never go on an outside road. It is close to Downtown Disney. I have no clue about the water slide or the price but here is link http://www.efairfield.com/inside/resorts/0064.asp.

Good Luck....searching.

def. do the virtual tour. you can either walk or do the water transportation to downtown disney from ssr. from what i saw on the members only site for dvc the excercise facilities are only for the use of the paying spa patrons or those who are staying at ssr, but they indicate that they are top of the line equipment. i understand that it is a nice laid back atmosphere (which appeals to me after a day of theme park hopping).
i did my reservations friday and they indicated that there were still blocks of time and rooms available in november (it's not sold out property yet and it's one of the 2 largest-vacation club dedicated rooms-dvc resorts at wdw).

yes, we did have a great time on our last disney cruise. i realy enjoyed knowing that we would have some dis board friends crusing with us that we had already gotten aquainted with online. i would realy enjoy getting together with everyone and i know my kids would too. while they remember the fun of the last cruise they esp. remember the little get togethers we did and thier dis board friends. i went back and looked at our albums for that trip to try to remember anything else we planned as a group, alot of it was halloween related because of the sailing date but some of it could be adapted. we all decorated our doors (and some did their balconies with battery powered strings of lights), the kids did a door to door trick or treat (to our cabins only) but that could be changed to a treasure hunt where each door has a clue to lead them to a place where we could have a pizza party or something, the adults did manage to get together one evening to do kareoke (you know you're comfortable with people when you subject them to your most embarrassing public moments), so it can be as simple or elaborate as everyone decides. i love the idea of finding out what excursions folks are doing-my husband is mad to go scuba diving and has'nt decided if he will do one day or both of the cruise lines offerings (anyone with suggestions would be appreciated).

one thing i will offer to bring (in additon to the post cards) is a pile of "jelly belly belly flops" (our local treat owing to the jelly belly company near by and thier desire to only send out the perfectly shaped jelly bellys to the rest of the country).

look forward to more post :rotfl:

Allright - it looks like we have finally gotten this thread off the ground!! I look forward to meeting up with everyone when we get on the ship! I love the idea of a meet the first afternoon of the cruise, and then taking things from there!

DisNurse - RE: places to stay - I looked at the Nick hotel on line, and I'm not sure I could handle the Nickelodeon theming. While I know a lot of adults enjoy Sponge Bob Square Pants, I just can't imagine coming back to that after a day at the parks! Personally I would look at finding my way into one of the Disney resorts. We were fortunate enough to stay at the Grand Floridian last year, and I loved having somewhere quiet and elegant to come back to at the end of the day. The downside - now my kids seem to think that is the only place to stay at WDW!! Of course I think we could probably take them to a value resort, and they would probably find it just as fun!! Anyway, You have lots of time to look at the alternatives. Personally, I find planning half (or maybe more than half!)the fun!

Patzfanjay - My brother in law left Andover in 1985 to go to college, and has not moved back (met my sister and couldn't leave her - awwww!!), so I guess you wouldn't know each other. His brother and wife are still there though (Matt and Jen Burke), but I'm not sure where they live. Small world!

I made our airline reservations today, so I feel like we are that much closer to going. I'm not sure I got the absolute cheapest rate, but I got the 6 of us on the same flight, seated across the aisle from each other. I got the times I want, and I got three of the flights using frequent flyer miles.

Has anyone else gotten the Passporter? I was too impatient to wait for the third edition so I picked up a brand new copy of the second edition on Ebay. Apparently the main difference between the second and third edition is info on the summer 2005 special itineraries from California which don't apply to us. I am really impressed with it. Even with all of the information available on these boards, I love how comprehensive the Passporter is. And all of the information is in one place.

Have a great night!!

;) Thanks everone for the tips and the hints on where to stay for 5 nights after the cruise.....and, again...the kids won't have clue (dd8, ds6).
pirate: "oh, that was a great cruise...we had so much fun. But unfortunately it is time to fly back home....NOT!!!!! :cool1: :rotfl2: :cool1: :rotfl2:
I need to do more research...that Nick hotel is deceiving I think...I know it's just a souped up Holiday Inn! That's what just doesn't sit right with me for well over $200/night with taxes. WE DON"T PAY TAXES IN OREGON (sales, that is), so it's really hard to ( pirate: gulp!) pay all those taxes outside our state lines!

What part of Northern California are you from, barkley? I grew up there and still have lots of ties. Thankfully Delta Airlines just started flying East from our hometown (connections in Salt Lake, Utah) so flying to WDW and/or to a DCL experience is way more justified than flying to Disneyland. Even when they build the 3rd ship I find it hard to believe that we would book a West Coast DCL sailing.....it's just not as much of an adventure as the Caribbean and such.... :cheer2:
Thanks to everyone for the Saratoga springs links and info...if it truly costs us an arm and a leg to stay there not being DVC members then we'll surly go elsewhere.....did you know I apparently get a good discount being an RN at the Dolphin and/or Swan? Are these places any good? They just look massive and impersonal.....and I know they have the nerve to charge you extra $$$ for a fridge daily (little one) and additional $$$ to use the gym! That stinks in my opinion! pirate:

I have the passpoter on order through our local Barns and Noble...and I have heard there have been delays in getting it out. I am really looking forward to getting my hot little hands on a copy! I have learned sooooo much from the DIS boards...but surely there is something this book will add.

I have sat in Barns and Nobel for hours before (without the kids of course 'cause they are too wild) and browsed through many WDW books. Boy, there are some out there that are a complete waste of money! :rolleyes1 Compared to the info on these DIS boards....you just can't beat it!

They still say the average person who walks throught the gates at WDW has no agenda, doesn't know where they are going, and hasn't read anything prior to going! Is this even believable? :confused3

The postcard plan, meeting, scavenger hunt...it all sounds fun! I cannot imagine going on anything less than a 7 night cruise! I need to EXPLORE that ship! :moped:

Until later....checking out.... :wave2:

DIS NURSE :flower:
P.S. There is interesting thread right now entitled, "Ideas please....how to identify DISers throughout the cruise" that we should all read. :wave2:

we are natives of napa, but currently live in dixon (just a few miles down the road from uc davis)-what part of northern ca. are you from?

:flower: I grew up in Walnut Creek and Piedmont...near Berkeley. I went to Chico State for 4 years and then moved to Oregon. My brother went to UC Davis. Our Neonatologist (my boss, essentially) spent many years practicing at UC Davis. Is there a Sea World still near you? It is worth going? I have heard it has "gone downhill" since I was a kid. :confused3

:rotfl: small world-i worked for contra costa county for 15 years, though never in walnut creek (martinez, antioch, hercules and richmond). no sea world near us-years ago there was marine world down on the penninsula, which moved about 15 years ago to vallejo (they took over a beautiful golf course and what was "inspiration point" for the local teens), it's now six flags/marine world (more rides but enough of the animals to get the company a major tax break). if you have'nt been back this way for awhile you would be amazed at how the areas have grown-all the beautiful open space around walnut creek is no more, all turned into high dollar tract style housing. antioch, pittsburg, hercules, clayton and every place in between have turned into miles of continuous housing (even where the old refineries sat just a few years ago) that are considered starter homes at $650,000-$800,000. i had plenty of co-workers who commuted 2 1/2 hours each way :earseek: from stockton, modesto and even further so they could find "affordable housing" (at $400,000-$500,000). even little old dixon (which your boss and brother may remember as just "a fruit stand on the way to davis") has become a bedroom community for the bay area and beyond with home prices tripleing in the last 5 years! california is a crazy place-a bit too crazy for me-in fact we look forward to meeting everyone from this board and learning about their home states, we're seriously considering relocation in the next year or so.

look forward to meeting you-tell your boss that uc davis is now called uc mondavi by the locals (mondavi family donated enough buildings to have large portions of the campus renamed in their honor-they did recently lose out on their attempt to have the state highway that runs through the napa valley renamed for them :goodvibes ).

ta-ta for now.

It's cool that people are starting to find some common ground on this thread! Looks like our DIS group is really shaping up...our meet and greet on the 12th should be fun!

I know that is is VERY early, but I'm thinking a little about shore excursions. Has anyone ever been to St John? We've stayed on St Thomas in the past, but this trip we're contemplating heading over to SJ on our own and I'm looking for some inside tips. :sunny: Any help is appreciated.

DIS NURSE---Did you make any decisions on where you are staying? The suggestions for on-property locations are great, but probably pricey ($300+ per night.) If your first priority is extra space, a cool pool and a fitness center, rather than "Disney Magic", then you'll certainly get more bang for your buck off-property. If you decide to stay on-property, then let me add one more Resort to your list...the Beach Club Villa's. The location is great, the pool is awesome (with a terrific slide!), the rooms are new and spacious with a full kitchen and washer/dryer and there is an on-site fitness center. We surprised our daughter with a stay at the Beach Club for her ninth birthday (at that time, we lived in Michigan) and she absolutely LOVED it. Maybe you could head over to the DVC board and rent points. Just an idea. :flower:

Have a great weekend, everyone!

:wizard: Yes....I have dreamed of staying at the Yacht/Beach Club and realize it IS very expensive.... and they have a fabulous slide/themeing and workout facilities.....would be much more relaxing than Sponge Bob and Fairly Odd Parents decor with zillions of kids running around and fried cafeteria food!
I guess I am not looking to spend that much.....and I just need to keep reminding myself that when we are onboard, we are probably going to rebook for Nov. 11, 2006 Western Double Dip of CC! That will cost me a bundle just to book it, right? Can anyone tell me for sure how much they charge on your VISA as a deposit (2 kids/ 2 adults)? :confused3 I still can't find this info anywhere!

Yes, barkley, I meant to ask about Marine World. They used to be right off the highway there and I think I remember that they moved. Don't know if it would ever be worth it to shlep everyone down there. Not when you can fly to WDW and cruise...and spend MORE $$$$, on way more fun! :wizard:
I am familiar somewhat on what has happened to the East bay since I moved (after high school). We still have relatives there and their houses are worth a lot for what they are! I am so glad we live in Oregon and are raising our kids in a much healthier environment. I don't live in the rain soaked part of Oregon ....MANY CALIFORNIANS are moving here! MANY! This place has been found! If you interested in learning more....email me...I am not willing to unveil the secret of this wonderful place I call my home all over the web! :teeth:
About shore excursions.....We too are interested in St. John but with 2 kids under age 10, it seems the options all include a LOONNGG boat trip with very little on-shore time to St. John. Am I correct? Has anyone done Captain Nautica's snorkel tours from St. Thomas? That is what we are most interested in. :moped: I will never forget getting GREEN seasick on a smaller catamaran off the coast of Hawaii (snorkel tour). I am leary of that especailly with kids! :sad2:
P.S. Does anyone know how or why the threads get moved around (in order from top to bottom) on the main Cruise Meets page? Is it in order of how many people touch the thread or just look? We used to be one of the first ones for a while. :grouphug:

our order on the board is driven by recent posts to our thread. thats why you will see posts of "bump" only-to bump a thread back up the page or back on to the first page.

i would like to find more info. on excursions as well. last time we did st. johns the kids loved just playing on the beach, but i would love to find a tour that would take us to a nicer beach location. my husband will probably be doing his scuba both non castaway cay days, so i would like to find some excusions that would be managable to take both my kids on. but then, if memory serves me, last time both kids wanted to get back to the air conditioned kids programs after a short time at both the ports (the heat and the humidity just wipes all of us out on these trips), so i guess it will depend on what we can find that will hold their interest.

think i'll surf the net this weekend and see what private excursions are out there-will keep you updated.

Cruise madness has struck! Can I start packing yet? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc , please??? :Pinkbounc

I decided to focus my energy into making the door signs for our stateroom. They are magnetic and several discruisers from other boards have suggested using the green disboard theme paint chip from Home Depot's Disney's paint. (Our store must keep this shade under lock and key, as they were out). Not being a perfectionist, I settled for the next shade (of green). :earseek: Then, with some stick-on letters - instant door sign. ok, so I haven't done that last part yet!

DIS Nurse - best of luck for selecting a place. We all (well, most of us), have to be on a budget for vacations and you cannot have everything. We have been lucky to go to WDW lots :earsboy: :earsgirl: and you are right about "needing a plan", in order to make sure you see what you would like, without going in circles. If we arrange for a meet on the ship, I'll pass along some tips, but those with kids may have better advice.

If you are looking at any of the dinner shows, character breakfasts etc. Make sure you book these as soon as you can as they sell out quick. I think you can book earlier if you stay on property, not so sure how rigid the rules are.

BARKLEY - :sunny: :sunny: we are thinking of touring St. John on our own so we can see the Park. We are avid hikers, and there are some neat trails, not so sure how much time we will have and they say Mickey will not hold the boat, if you are late. :earboy2: There are several rental car companies, we looked for one at the dock. If you have not already found it (can't believe that) check out the website. http://www.virgin.islands.national-park.com/. Not sure about St. Martin, yet. I hear they have some great resturants :p Must remember to pack some larger clothes for the trip home! :p

:3dglasses POSTCARDS - Several of you asked about postcards, so I went back and read: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=629204. This link 'splains how it all works - which is a real committment of the webmaster - thanks in advance. I am going to pick up some WDW cards of the characters so and send them in for those of you who wish to request some. I'm not sure how this will work exactly, if they just take the next one off the pile, or what. Even though they will not be of the Cruise Mickey, it will at least give us a supply for our ship mates DKs (Disney Kids). I'll bring some "Swap on board" cards from the kids as well. I think I may have some old cards from past vacations never sent, and if so, I'll through them into the mix from a "secret ship mate" and that way the kids can have a more expansive geography session. :teacher: I'll bring a map so we can really force them to look at where the cards are from (of course, with the excitment of packing, I may forget this committment, so please remind me).

FINALLY, our thread might not have 10000 posts, but I think we are a select and fun group. :wave2: Bye.

I cannot seem to get my signiture picture to stick. oh well!

:flower: :flower:

HEY DISNURSE - I just had an idea - since your kids are going to WDW AFTER the cruise, how about I bring a post card of their favourite character and you can "mail it to the" on the ship. It could say something like - thanks for coming and see you soon!

And won't they be surprised. :goodvibes that soon is only a day away!!!!
HEE HEE. Just let me know who DD8 and DS6 like....and did DS have a birthday recently? I thought I recalled he was 5 from your first post. If so, :bday: :bday: :bday: from his Shipmates pirate:

:cool1: I should have known a fellow DIS'er would notice such a detail in the threads! We all REALLY pay attention to everything, don't we? I actaully stoppped calling him 5 about two weeks ago becasue he will be within days of turning 6 when we cruise! Hee,hee... :rotfl2: ...and someone noticed I switched it! he'll turn 6 in early December so I'm going to stop posting him as 5. ;)

The postcard idea is great...you mean that the postcards would come from "their favorite characters" while on the ship...like towards the end? That would be great! DS (6 ;) ) loves Donald Duck! DD (8 1/2) loves Minnie Mouse. DS probably likes Mickey just the same now that I really think about it.

REMINDER: PLEASE DON"T FORGET THE US MAP! :teacher: Thanks, it would make it much more educational! :cheer2:

Staying afterwards in WDW/Orlando has many options....almost too many. For the price, WHICH WAS FREE! (generous gift from my brother who works for Marriott), last Oct. we stayed for a week at the Marriott Grande Vista! Wow! That was a fancy place with a lot to offer. We drove everyday to the parks and water parks....go,go,go! :moped: I would wake up and say, "okay, get outta bed! Today we're going to (whichever park)..." It was so fun but so exhausting! We covered a lot in 5 full days in the parks....this time my aganda (yes, my husband leaves all the planning up to me... :earboy2: he's just a long for the ride and enjoyment!.....) is to relax at a resort that has a great pool/slide, visit Wet N' Wild one day, visit Magic Kingdom one day....and depending on time and not trying to sqweeze too much in, one day at Blizzard Beach OR Typhoon Lagoon...one of them will undoubtedly be closed for refurbishment. Anyone know which one it's going to be? Last year the highlight of all that we did was two full days at Blizzard Beach! :cold: :sunny:

The downer is that we'll be there right as the Thanksgiving crowds are pouring in so that brings me to my next question......If you were me and you had one day to pick to go to Magic Kingdom....which one would you pick? Aren't Mondays the absolute worst day to go? But possibly not in this case because most people come wed, thurs, fri, sat, sun over Thanksgiving? :confused3

If we do rebook for the Nov. 11, 2006 Double Dip Western, we will for sure do a few WDW days BEFORE the cruise....gee....can I start planning that trip now too? :rotfl2:

Have I failed to mention that one of my best girlfriends and her family (her daughter is my daughter's BEST friend!) will be at the Yacht/Beach Club while we're there? We are going to plan a "surprise" meet at either the Yacht Club or Blizzard Beach one day...neither of them have a clue either of them will be there at the same time from clear across the country!

BTW, can I "snaek" into the Yacht Club's pools cause my friend is staying there? Would anyone ever notice? :confused3

Gotta go feed a crying baby.....

[QUOTE=DIS NURSE: If you were me and you had one day to pick to go to Magic Kingdom....which one would you pick?

Historically "thye say" -- the busiest days at the Kingdom are Monday, Thursday, and Saturday BUT, this year will be part of the 50th celebration and I have no clue if there will be a less busy time right before the T-giving holidays. That said, I 'spect Tuesday would be a winner. :wizard:

hey all you "dizzies" that will be away from friends and fam for thanksgiving-a friend gave me a box of greeting cards and envelopes (mostly thanksgiving type) that were discontinued when she was a greeting card rep a year or so ago. anyone want me to bring them so you can send a photo with "thanksgiving greetings" from the happiest place on earth? let me know and i'll pack a bundle for delivery first day.

barkely

;) Great idea barkley, and I appreciate your generosity! We don't have a very big family but a few cards would do. Question: can you get stamps on ship and then can you actually mail them and they will go somewhere? :rotfl2: Like in the air to a mail port or the like?

P.S. Has anyone posted a thread on the DIS boards and then got insulting responses like the one I recently posted about our 6 y.o. (DS) being a picky eater!? :confused3 Clearly, there are poeple who find it entertaining to reply with their soapbox-like opinions! People shouldn't be so quick to judge! Oue kids are the BEST socializers, confident, funny, fun-loving little critters you could come across.....so they don't eat so great and they are a challenge at the dinner table....so what? I am excited to know it isn't taboo to send them off to the LAB/Club if /when they are done with their dinner.... Is that so bad? Jeez.......??!!! I have had a few people privately email me with messsages....."sorry people are being so rude in their responses....."...."so glad other DIS'ers are not getting you down...." For the most part the people on these boards are the BEST! :disrocks: ...but every once in a while dishin' someone else makes the other person feel better I guess...... :sad2:

See ya'................... :flower:

i will add your cards to my list-i think you can take them to the desk, they figure out the postage and then they mail them on the next day in port (i think castaway cay also has a post office too).

sorry to hear about the negative experience you've had with some posts-i don't think i've ever had anyone on this board do that to me. i can't say that about other cruise line boards though; last year i frequented another board that did all of the cruiselines because we were going on holland america-i posted a question about dealing with a cruiseline if you've been injured by a cruiseline staff member. what i anticipated might result in a few responses ended up as a massive thread with people arguing over the benefits of living in countrys that are "ladden with sue happy people" and private insurance vs. socialized medicine. people got very nasty with each other.

as far as your picky eater goes-is he one of those who does'nt like very many things or gets on a jag of wanting to eat the same thing over and over? my daughter LOVES food, and loved it on both our disney cruises when our dining staff started giving her the adult menu after the first night, my son on the other hand can take food or leave it. dear son when he does want to eat has a very narrow view on what he likes (but then he does relish whatever it is that he's hooked on at the time), our last cruise he figured out that you could order french fries at pool side, and then cover them with the nacho cheese sauce from the adjacent taco bar, voila "cheese fries" (the highlight of his cruise dining experience). disney is so great with the kids and dining, they're always so good about letting you play around with the menu options (if i remember right, there were a couple of evenings when my kids had multiple appetizers from the adult menu that were served "course" style).

so what seating is everyone doing? we are currently slotted for late (and on wait list for early) but i'm thinking i don't realy care either way. late might work out alot better for us-if the kids want to see one of the shows we can catch the early showing when they're more awake, if they want to do the kids club activity for the evening we can either go get them right before dinner or take them to the buffet before they go. i just need to call the cruiseline and have them indicate that we want to be seated at a table with other people (i like visiting with people when we eat).

i don't want this thread to disolve into a "what are you packing" thread, but has anyone else already bought some items and set them aside for the trip?
so far i've grabbed:

a package of "floaties" (.99 at walmart-i think i will grab a couple of thier cheap inner tubes as well for the kids to use at the hotel pool),

and

a boxed set of 4 games (cheap knock offs of connect 4, tic-tac-toe, guess who and perfection) ($4.88 at walmart).

i'll probably start checking out walmart and the dollar store for old cartoons and movies on dvd, i put these in a small cd holder and use them with the portable dvd player.

i am going to make every attempt to underpack this time-i hate airports and luggage  i've also decided to repeat something we did last time-all of the stuff that takes up needed room in the suitcase is going to get mailed to the resort for me to pick up on arrival. i did this last time with the a couple of pairs of my shoes, all of the water shoes, travel curling iron, some coloring books and paint sets, a roll of bubble wrap and my manicure set (so it does'nt end up in the airport's land fill of nail files). it worked out realy well-the package was at the resort when i arrived, and anything that we did'nt need from the land trip for the cruise (plus several souvineers) were packed into the same box and remailed home from cape canveral before we left. it did'nt cost much at all, and helped eliminate an entire suitcase (my personal goal for this trip is to get everything for all 4 of us into the largest size suitcase the airline will permit, then all of the carry on items into my "mary poppins carpet bag" & the kid travel survival stuff into the small roll on that will fit under the seat for easy access). although i don't plan on doing much if any shopping, i'm budgeting for anything breakable or valuable to be mailed to us at home (i can't count the number of people we talked to before and after our last cruise that had items missing from their luggage after flying in-us included, but fortunatly it was nothing valuable).

enuf for now-talk to you soon. :grouphug:

I'd not recommend using the Castaway Cay post office for Thanksgiving Cards, if you want them to arrive before turkey day. We mailed post cards from there last trip and they took well over 2 weeks to Florida - longer elsewhere. You would have better luck mailing the cards from Port Canaveral, even though it would be the Saturday before T'giving. Don't know about the post on the islands. If you just want a memory of the trip, a T'giving card bragging about what you are doing over the holidays, the definitely mail cards as a fond memory from Castaway Cay. :goodvibes

So has anyone seen Favouriteauntie or ajmohr on any of the boards. They are sailing with us and posted on http://www.majesticnetworks.net/cgi-bin/whoisgoing/whoisgoing.cgi. Most of us have not used this page, preferring this more personal thread.

I've updated our ship mate register with all the public information we have posted. You are welcome to add to it, if you would like – or not as great as dizboards are, you cannot be too careful.....Let me have some feedback if I should post it next time.

barkley -- I too want to cut down on packing but haven't figured out how to get all the formal and semi-formal wear into two suitcases, much less one...so good luck barkley.

Disnurse - we have a great group - no rudeness here... :grouphug: and FYI, last cruise I ordered every single appetizer and no entry and I am supposed to be "all grown up". NOT. :earboy2: The server was so accustomed to my orders, he stopped asking by day 2 what I wanted.

re. the formal wear-my husband will be easy, we'll just rent a tux through the company that puts them into and picks up from the stateroom (he's only going for the black this time, if he decides he wants to do it up twice he can wear it again), the black tux pants work fine with a couple of his own dress shirts, and so he only needs to bring a couple pairs of slacks and a sports jacket (for palos). my daughter i can pack 2 dresses, and a couple of nice tops. for my son-i just hit walmart today and got a 3 pc. outfit on the easter clearance rack (slacks, dress shirt, vest) and a shirt/tie combo. from the same rack (so he's pretty much covered). as for me.....well, i hope to lose the 20 pounds i've been carrying for a couple of years so that i won't be tempted to go out and buy anything :rotfl:  if i make it to my goal weight, i'll pack one "sparkly dress", and then my black dress pants and a few blouse/tank tops i can mix and match with. i also cut down on packing space by only taking one pair of heels that go with everything (my hubby gets the rental package that includes the shoes).

i've also set aside some laundry tablets to take so i can run laundry a couple of times during our stay at ssr and once on board-so i am hoping that my suitcase goal will become a reality.

Well cruise mates, pirate: , we are another week closer - :Pinkbounc . We'll have to celebrate when we hit the 6 month countdown point!!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I think I found favoriteauntie and invited her to join our thread.

Meanwhile, I've been reading up on what to pack, not pack, leave home and take and still searching out information on shore excursions. I am still at a loss for formal, and semi-formal nights.....But my pirate costume is coming along, at least in my mind's eye....It may be a different story once the sewing machine is pressed into service. :teeth:

Have a great weekend - all. :earsboy:
