Hi all! Looks like the planning is really coming along! :cheer2: We're on Deck 6 aft this trip. Late dining for us! I'm so glad that some of you have countdown timers...192 days sounds good to me!

We're the same as you - Deck 6 aft with late dining...and no D- kids either....And celebrating an Anniversary....

Cannot wait..... :cloud9: :cloud9:

(i would be more than happy to bring some bday favors and decorations).

on to other topics-what is the deal with pirate night-they have not done this on the previous 2 cruises we've been on?

Hi Barkely - I am thinking about a surprise cabin decoration for my DH who will be celebrating his B-day on the ship as well.

And as for pirates pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Arrrrrgh!!!! -- You are in for sooooo much fun. How much do you want to know now or just wait and be surprised. We are definitely gettting a pirates outfit, but not "overboard", 'k I could not help myself. Made out of garments on hand, a few craft scraps or GoodWill hand me downs.... pirate: pirate: pirate:

The kids definitely enjoyed pirate night more than tropical night. It was fun for adults too!!

Hey Chip and Dale,

Looks like we'll be bumping into each other all over the ship! :flower:

And FYI, I ordered the cabin birthday decor for my brother this past February on the Wonder. It was a great surprise for him...and we all enjoyed the cake as we sailed away from port! Yum!

Barkley--Pirates night was new last year! pirate: It's a themed evening that starts in the dining room and spills over to a late night (starts at 10pm) deck party and buffet, complete with characters, ice scupltures and fireworks. It's lots of fun...a great addition to an already magical trip! :earsboy:

Welcome, Favorite! Looks like another fun group added to our sailing. :boat:

Thanks! Fun, I don't know about that, depends on you "fun scale" I guess!!!

My sister has a hubby and 2 college kids that are staying home, so she is going to be doing a lot of relaxing! William never wanted to leave the club the last time he cruised, so I am guessing we won't be seeing a lot of him...my parents do this cruise so much that it is like a second home to them... and I will go anywhere there are forzen fruity drinks!

:grouphug: Yes, welcome aboard, Favorite Auntie.....you have a catchy DIS name so I remember you from SOMEWHERE :confused3 on these boards!
Are kids just about wasted (tired) when the Pirate nights is just getting started at 10 p.m.? This is going to be the night on St. Maarten, right? I believe Tuesday? If your kids are in the LAB/CLUB earlier or around 10p.m. do they take them all out and these festivites are all combined?

In your spare time you should read through the rest of our posts here.....they kinda' tell the tail of who is who and how we got all here :grouphug:

Barkley.....eating second seating is a must for us and we look forward to it! I know the kids will get really hungry way earlier than that so I plan on feeding them way earlier and maybe go to the shows before our sit down time of 8:30 p.m.) I imagine them not lasting all the way through dinner and myself or DH will escort them to the Lab 'cause there's no way they will last that long through a sit down dinner!

That would be great if late seaters got together....or vice-versa with early seating. I have had two friends come back recently and for them early seating was a disaster and took away from their spontaneity.....always feeling rushed...especially after St. Maarten and St. Thomas days! I envision cocktail or wine around 6-6:30....not a whole lotta food and "hurrying to get ready"...then...."hurry up and eat...we don't want to miss the show!" I feel that late seating entitles you to wine, relaxing, a show, dinner, and kids in the Lab/CLub all in the same night. :cheer2:

I am probably the only one here that had the kids in bed early every night ...they didn't go to any of the deck parties or anything. If they did, we would have been camped in the ship doc's office by day 3.... Not my idea of a great vacation. They did love the Pirates night though, they got to wear the bandanas at dinner and have fun with the wait staff. They had all had a busy day in St Marteen, so they were in bed by 9 or shortly there after... I don't think the club will bring them to the party, I think you have to pick them up yourself for that. But I could be wrong about that....

And yes, I have been around these boards for a while.........

i am so glad to hear about the new reservation system-it will make embarkation so much more enjoyable-my calendar is marked.

my kids we're not big into the nighttime events either (although they did enjoy going to the kids clubs at night), all of our sleep scheduals get so whacked out going from west coast to east coast and the heat and humidity throws us for another loop, so we just play it by ear and plan to crash and burn thanksgiving weekend.

must be going-dear daughter took a fall off her bicycle tuesday and has 2 broken teeth and a fracture in her arm (we can't see the orthopedist until tomorrow so thus far no cast just a sling that does'nt offer much in the way of protection from a little brother who want's to "hug her better").

talk to you all soon

must plan a WDW trip to cheer up DD and reward DS ::MickeyMo

Good luck with the recovery....And a=only (almost) Six months to salt water therapy!

:flower: Favorite Auntie.....I see you are also booked on the Nov.11, 2006 Double Dip to CC cruise! That is the one will we be rebooking for when we go this November (98% sure!) ;)
Boy, oh boy....do you have a crazy group of DISers going on that cruise meet thread! Maybe that's how I recognize your name....I snoop over there every so often. Sounds like many of those people have already cruised together? :goodvibes
If you don't mind me asking....what are you going to end up paying for that cruise? We would want 2 adults/2 kids in a category 9 probably. I am still not convinced that onboard rebooking is a great deal. We'll just have to see what they quote us when we are on the ship, I guess. Who is going with you on that trip?

I'm new to the cruise deals, but browsing the boards, it seems that there are better discounts in advance - or right after the 60 day cancellation period. Re-bookings on board are favored by some, but then some like working with specific travel agents (mentioned on the board).

I wonder if you can hedge your bets, look at the best advance rates, put down the deposit (gulp) and then if it is a better rate on the ship, book then...or would you have to cancel the other first??? I am sure the seasoned travellers have all the ins and outs of saving down pat. We just need to learn their secrets. pirate:

I'm testing a new signature - cute but takes up too much space. Must do better.

We booked that cruise last November...we have secret porthole rooms!(3 of the 4 I think...) We booked it then cuz of the double stop in CC, it might fill up fast.. I do have one sister that is going to book this November when we are on board...hope she gets on!! Who is going???

Me,
My parents
My three sisters, their hubbies, and their combined 8 children!

I don't think I posted on that thread yet...my sister might have, sometimes she forgets to sign out as me... She is wdwdclfan, or something like that...

I have no idea what I paid, sorry. I just write the check, my parents really handle all the reservations and stuff... it took a few visits to the rebook desk last cruise and I was very confused by the end of it all, and just handed over the credit card!

 GULP!...here's the credit card! I hope we can get on that cruise also....you are right that it could be full by this November! Right now Disney wants about $1,000 more for that cruise than what we are paying for this one! I just can't justify that right now...and it doesn't seem right! :confused3

I think it was comparable when we booked them, since I did book them together, I think I would have noticed that.....

I have my room booked, so I am staying out of it, my mother is dealing with my sisters and their rooms and stuff....

My mom just went to upgrade one of my sister's from a SPH room the other day to a balcony room and there was still plenty of room on the ship then...

Thanks for the insight. I think just for the hey of it I will contact Cost Co travel and see what they are quoting for that cruise. :flower:

For those of you who have already plotted it out, can you tell my the date I can pre-register the kids for the Lab? (Not a Castatway member...a newbie). Also, the date I can book excursions? Aren't I lazy? I just know someone out there already has it on their calendar! :cheer2:

Dis Nurse I think 75 days out is August 29th, My calendar on the wall says this, but my countdown timer is a day ahead, I can't remember if I set the timer early since we are actually starting our vacation a couple of days early and doing Discovery cove in Orlando on Friday before the cruise.
