November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

thanks bama and sara! I feel sooooo much better now that everything is better. we picked out our flooring, counter tops, and appliances. That was tons of fun! we did all stainless its going to look pretty!

I've been thinking so much about my vacation... i can't wait i miss disney so much. Maybe not this year but eventually i think i want to talk adam into getting a DVC membership. (yea right)

oh yea and TNmom we packed snacks in our luggage. not alot but a few things... i think we got a box of pop tarts, granola bars, and little stuff like that. i put the boxes in between the clothes and they were fine. The before we left for the parks we just threw a few in my backpack. The only mistake i made was i got the chocolate chip granola bars and the chips melted.... won't be getting those again lol.

Thanks Kristina about the info on Garden Grocer. I am going to go ahead and use them. I went to their website and registered and picked out all the stuff we want. I didn't actually place the order. I guess I will do that soon and pay for it so it's all taken care of. I can't imagine sending all the things we would need.

We just got our MVMCP tickets in the mail! I'm very excited! I've got nothing else to really plan I guess except what to pack!

Congratulations to all of you going to the MVMCP! Please give a TR when you get back. We've never done the MVMCP but we are planning to in '09!

I dont think MVMCP is going on when i'm there the first week in Nov.:sad1: I've never been but have always wanted to go. I've also wanted to see the christmas decorations but i dont think they'll be up either before i leave to go home.

Anyway... planning question...
what airline should i get my flights from? we can fly out of Boston or Manchester. I think boston would get us better deals but would take us longer to get to and from. South west on the other hand flies out of manchester and i love them but their prices just aren't what they used to be.... but sometimes if you wait until the date is closer their rates drop.... soo confused on what to do.... HELP!

p.s.:welcome:party: welcome to all the newbies!!

Katie, I wanted to go to MVMCP also but none are scheduled the first week on November.

I can't help you on the airfare. I am watching southwest's ding airfares hoping they will be great closer to time. But as of right now we are driving. Of course we are a lot closer than you are...LOL

I posted out trip info somewhere earlier in this thread, so for a recap we are going to be in WDW from Nov 5-11, going with DH's family and staying at SOG for the third time. We got tickets for the Nov 10th MVMCP and can't wait. It will be our first time attending it!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Just hope we can survive the week with DH's family. I love them, but you know;)

Bummer we aren't going to be able to go to MVMCP Sandy!!! But hey that gives us a reason to plan for next year! :woohoo: Yea driving isn't really an option for us lol it would take 26 hours!! Not happening! I'm going to keep watching the Ding too i guess. (fingers crossed)

Have you gotten your park tickets yet? Are there any other good deals on park hopper tickets other than the AAA discount?

I have no clue what a ding is but I tried pricing tickets on Orbitz just for curiosity sake. We could never fly -- DH is afraid.

I also priced out a value room on Orbitz at the ASMo since we want to tack a night on to the beginning of our trip. They advertised rooms at $99. Less than the WDW site. Has anyone ever booked through an online place like that for a room? I'm a tad nervous about it but it would save some bucks.

I actually booked my trip through AAA. Mainly because the 2 codes I've gotten were not valid the week we are going (I'm assuming its because its "Jersey Week", but not for sure) So AAA was the best deal for us since we were already members anyway. I haven't paid the trip off yet, but DH and I were talking about going ahead and doing it so we don't have to worry about it anymore. Its funny because the final payment is actually due on my birthday so dh says its my birthday present...LOL

Ding is a special promotion through Southwest airlines. You download ding to your computer and then when southwest puts out special offers for the airports you selected, your computer will "ding" to let you know there a new offer. you can check them. They used to be awesome offers, but now they are getting higher and higher. But still better than regular airfare. I got some the other day for those traveling up until Oct 31, for $79 one way. But we are going November 1-8...LOL

We are going on to thr MVMCP on the 11th- I've never been before- is it worth the price? Also we are flying southwest- they had the best fares from Denver.

We are going to the MVMCP on Nov. 10th. We have never attended any of the parties, so this will be a first for us. I have read a lot on here about how most people love the Christmas party. I just don't know if the kids are going to want to watch the Christmas shows. I know there is one in front of the castle and one in the theater in Tomorrowland. I think they will like the Christmas parade though.

I just got a Southwest Ding this is what it was for:

Nashville to Orlando for $75 One-Way!
- Fare is valid for travel Monday-Thursday and Saturday, August 11 through September 30, 2008 only

The kids and I are leaving on Aug. 5th for Florida, but I had already bought our tickets and this Ding doesn't even include the 5th.

I think that to use the Ding you have to be more flexible with your dates.

The other thing is... I bought our tickets for November for 8 of us the day Southwest released the tickets. I just checked, and the day we are leaving is not even close to being sold out. We are taking the earliest flight that leaves at 7:30 am, and I could have bought those 8 tickets today. Now the next flight that leaves at 10 am is sold out of the cheapest tickets. So, it is hard to say what will happen with prices. I really thought that more times would be sold out, but they aren't. Even our returning day has all the times available.
