November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

I am so disappointed about Garden Grill doing away with lunch after Oct. 5. We had our whole day planned around our ADR for here on Nov. 18th. We were going to eat at 11:00. When I just called there were only a few times left. The first one she offered me was after 7:00 pm for dinner. This was just too late.

The one good thing was that I did get a Chef Mickey ADR for dinner at 5:00.

How are you getting the dinig plan without buying a ackage (room, tickets and meal plan) through Disney?

I'm renting points Saving me big bucks too. Otherwise I would have had to rent 2 regular rooms because there's 6 of us going. DH really wanted to stay at AKL. I hope everything continues to go smoothly as I've never rented points for a trip before & probably never will again. After this trip, it will probably be just DH & I.

We're already planning for next year. All the times we've gone we could never do the extra stuff. Cost is too high for 4 or 6. So next December it will be just DH & I & we want to do the Dolphins in Depth at Epcot, Richard Petty (well, just DH here) and the Wildlife Safari and stay club level probably at the Contemporary

Oh but waiting for November is killing me. How about you guys? Still 4 months! I'm anxious to show my new son-in-law the world (he's never been), we became guardians over a teenage girl and she's never been to the world either. It'll be so fun to watch them be amazed.

so my Ap vouchers and my tickets to MVMCP have arrived.

Not a lot else to do on the planning front at the moment, though have been looking at getting a gift basket made up for ds for his birthday, has anyone done this before???

we have also decided we might rent a stroller from a babys best friend meaning less luggage to have to carry through the airport. works out cheaper than renting from disney plus we dont have to give it back at the end of the day!!

I really need to get started on our countdown chart. I thought I'd make it starting at 50 days and count down from there. I have the first 25 numbers ready. I used number stickers from my scrapbooking stash and put them on the mickey head paint chips from home depot and then laminated them. For # 26- 50 I am using my mickey head punch and punching those out of red and black and putting the numbers on those and I will laminate them. Then I will use temporary double sided adhesive to adhere them all to a poster board or a long strip for the kids to remove one each day.

I decided I'm going ot research the best stops on I-95 for our drive down. The last time we drove we just winged it. It worked but now I'm a super Disney planner!! LOL

Mine is similar, but I laminated my numbers and the actual chart. Then I used the velcro dots instead of the double sided tape so that I could reuse the calendar.

Jo, WOW! Congrats!!! We sold our house in five days a couple years ago. At that time, it wasn't hard to do...but in today's market that's amazing!!! I remember the excitement and I'm so happy for you!!! I got to move back to my hometown after that sale and I love my house now and I love my neighborhood even more! I have wonderful neighbors! I hope you have the same luck when you move!

Happy 4th everyone!! I missed this thread so much! Just got all caught up!

I need a DIS fix to make me feel better. The whole house thing fell through and we have to start all over again looking for another home! this wouldn't be so bad except we've been staying with my mom and younger sisters!!!

Anyway I was trying to find some info on the AKV's anyone stayed there? I've been hearing mixed reviews. From the pictures i think it looks awesome but why so much negativity? Anyone know?
