I am so excited!!!!!
Plus I found out that the Disneyland Christmas Parade is taping on Nov 5. I have always wanted to go to one of those. I guess I will be bringing some Christmas cloothes!!

Thanks for the heads up...we got ours assigned, too. No upgrade and no reviews of room on web. I'm sure it will be great though!

Did you see the Wonder at Port yesterday? Finally, the MR cruises are starting- that means our turn is getting closer and closer.

My apologies on the delayed response, my father had an aneursym recently and so my focus has been elsewhere (he did, however, give strict instructions that we are not to cancel our cruise regardless of what is to come....).

Anyway, we look forward to meeting you all (and to having company at Las Caletas).

FE: I haven't ever participated in one of these "gifting swaps" and feel a bit lost. I don't want to under- or over-do. If my gifts aren't like other gifts, I'll feel like I did it "wrong". I am VERY uncrafty, can't even draw stick people (always dreaded one of my kids asking me to draw a horsey or something..and that was 20 years ago). Help.....!

Any advice is welcome! I haven't signed up, but was wondering how you match people up. Would I be matched with others without kids?

Join up...I have never been a part of a FE either, am SO not crafty it's embarrassing but think it will be a fun thing to do Sorry I have no advice!

Okay, I am IN for the FE exchange (will send my e-mail ASAP to get on the list). Having read that I am not the only pathetic crafter out there, I have a little more confidence.

After checking into it more, I have come up with a few ideas that I should be able to pull off regardless of what my dad's health brings over the next month. I am looking forward to it!

Hi Cindy, if you check out some of other discussions on the DIS Forum you will find a number of them about FE exchanges. From what I can see, the gifts run the gamut from completely crafty (e.g. mini scrapbooks and albums), to semi-homemade (e.g. custom luggage tags and pens), to purchased gifts (disney trinkets, pirate trinkets, bath and body works), to food (candy for the movies, custom candy from home countries etc) and the list goes on and on and on....I don't think you can get it wrong, it seems to be more about thought than ability.

1. Do we have a name for this particular meet up - I noticed a lot of groups incorporate the discussion board forum name or screen names into gifts, so if there is one I'd like to make sure I get it right!
2. Are we planning to use a schedule (e.g. to prevent everyone delivering on the same day)?
3. Do most people plan to have one main gift, or a whole bunch of small gifts (e.g. one time delivery or spread out throughout the cruise)?
4. Is there a preference between gifts for the room/family versus gifts for individuals?
5. Are we going to be anonymous or leave names/screen names/e-mail etc or a little of both depending on what's being left?
6. How will we get stateroom numbers for those that don't have them before the last minute (I've read that the GTY rooms are sometimes not assigned until boarding), at the meet-up?
7. Are there any restrictions to be aware of (e.g. for people with border crossings or limited luggage space etc)?

I probably have more but those are the ones I can think of.

Hi Katrina...

I got your info today for the FE and have already added you to the list.

Hopefuly I can answer some of your questions

1. As of right now we don't have any group name. I am open to suggestions if anyone would like to throw some ideas out there.

2. I didn't want to set up any kind of schedule. I want people to participate how they feel comfortable. With your family we currently have 7 rooms participating.

3. For me I was originally going to do one gift per room and probably something for the kids however as we have gotten closer I changed my mind and will be most likely doing little small things daily or based on event (For Ex: Pirate night) and then something to finish the week off.

4. Again whatever you feel comfortable with.

5. We should all leave at least our disboards screenname so we can send thank you's after the trip. Some people like to leave more info (For Ex. Real First Name and/or email)

6. I'm running through 2 options for this problem. Most likely we will have a meet up the first night and we can make any last minute room changes then.

7. As far as I have seen we have no restrictions however I do know we have some people who are flying in/out of the continental US. I would say nothing that could cause airport security to go bonkers.

Feel free to throw out any more questions you may have ...
