I want to get everyone's opinion on this especially the experienced cruisers ...

I have looked on other meet ups and have found that doing a group meet up at 3:00 on the first day seems like the best time. Since I have never experienced the boarding process I would like to get your input ... also what about meeting in the Promenade Lounge?

Thanks

I can't believe how quickly the cruise is approaching. I haven't found nearly enough time to visit the Disboards.

Most of our plans are scheduled. We made dining "reservations" for Colors of Wonder seating on Saturday before we embark and Steakhouse We just need to finalize airport and hotel transfers and our Paramout Studios tour after the cruise.

For all the first timers, your cabin door is magnetic. Many people decorate their doors so they are easier to find and feel more personal.

Things I may have missed:

Did anything ever come of the postcard/recipe exchange? For those interested, that might be a good idea as a FE gifts one night.

Did we decide on a name for our group?

I'll try to get on a lot more frequently over the next month. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Lisa

For my last cruise, I believe we held the meet at 3pm in the Promenade. It worked well. You can board after 10am. Gives you more time on the ship. Meeting at 3pm is before the safety drill and Sailaway Party. Also, there should be tie for a group picture on the lobby stairs.

Hi all!

New question from TX.

We are flying into SNA (Orange County-Santa Ana) because they offered the best time slot from DFW. We land at 12:15. When I input that into the online check-in, they assigned us a 3-3:30 boarding/check-in. (so, please do NOT wait for us to take a group pic, if you meet up at 3).

(I know it is recommended to fly in the night before, but my husband plays trumpet and there is a fall concert that night...he's 1st chair, and those of you who are musicians will understand that we will NOT be flying out on Sat)

Are there any native Californians on this board and do they have a favorite Super Shuttle or similar to recommend? I want to get this booked soon because it makes me "rest easier at night" when I've tied up my loose ends. According to Google Maps, Mapquest, etc., that should be about 45-55 minutes on a Sunday afternoon (no work traffic).

Thanks and I'm SO EXCITED (oops, I've said it again)

45 minutes sounds about right. Supper shuttle (blue van) always seems to be on-time....my hubby uses the service to lax when he travels. Looking forward to meeting you:)

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the FE list? I have the list of screen names from this discussion thread but I don't have anything that actually tells me the total number of people per stateroom, ages of children etc. I have all my supplies to get started, now I just need some info.....

Also, I'd like to forewarn you that if you receive random paper planes, that will be my son (6). He decided he should contribute and make everyone "swashbuckler" airplanes which I may be forced (by big sad puppy eyes) to bring! I'm playing the space in our luggage card but he's resourceful, I forsee him making some on the ship!

Tiggerandme, my husband is a trumpet player too! Not so much anymore because he started working graveyard last year and couldn't make the performances anymore. He was in the Marine Drum and Bugle core when he was in the service.

Thanks gunther!

That's AWESOME Fisher, the DHs will have lots to talk about!!

One more help request: We are celebrating our 29th anniversary on 12/11, so this is our early celebration. Does anyone have the link to the WAY COOL DCL graphic that I could personalize (it looks like a giant nametag). I've seen it in some people's door pics.

Thanks in advance. I'm already Tiggering myself to death...if I had a tail, I'd bounce on it! Woo hoo hoo hoo-ooooooo

I am so excited about the cruise getting closer and closer. However, I am having bad thoughts about other's vacations. I just want them to hurry up and be over so it can be my turn!!!

I got so much to do in the next few weeks. I hope I can get all done! Fish extenders, sewing, packing, shopping....

I found a dolphin encounter from Aquavilla (?) water park. It is $69 for each person and my 2 year old can go. Then you have the rest of the day to stay at the water park. You don't get to swim with the dolphins, but you do get to love on them and pet them. Perfect for my family. However, it is not with Disney. I am a little apphrensive about going to PV on our own. Especially since there is no "personal protection pieces" around. (My husband is a deputy sheriff) What do others think? What company does Disney do their dolphin excusion with? If I knew that others would be around I would feel a little more comfortable about it.

I am so exicited!!! ur cruise is just around the corner. All my days have been filled with working on my fish extender and gifts ... Luv it!:lovestruc

We have World of Color dining reservations for Sat as well. Maybe we should have a Disneyland meet for those that are going to DL before the cruise.

I was reading that the spa drawing is at 3. I don't think 3pm is a good time. Maybe a little later?

Only 15 more days. I can't contain my excitment. I still haven't started on my FE for the door. I am still undecided about the fabric that I am going to use. I better get that done. I have started packing. It is very easy to do becasue it is snowing here-so we have no need for summery clothes. Instead of storing them, I pack them! Kids are still clueless about the cruise.I can't wait to tell them! My husband almost spilled the beans yeaterday asking about wifi on the ship. :sad2: I told him that yes, there was wifi on the ship but lets talk about the current vacation to Disneyland, not the Hawaii trip. (The kids know we are going to Hawaii in Oct of next year.) HaHa. I don't think they realized it! Course, we will probably tell them and my daughter will say something like she knew for months.

I found the cutest formal dreses for the girls on Ebay. I was going to make them, but I am running out of sewing time quickly! I have a few cruise themed clothes made so far, but I have not taken pictures to post. I am so bad about that!

I also found the best pirate costumes at a thrift store and costume store. I feel bad that I did not make those as planned but I spent way less money buying them made. Fabric gets expensive fast!

Joni:

I booked the Royal Dolphin swim at Aquaventuras water park in PV. I booked online, not thru the ship. I am happy to share the website with you, if you are interested. We also get to stay all day in the water park, but since we are doing the "full dolphin thing", our day was quite a bit higher in price.

The tour company in listed in tour guides like Fodor's and offers a full refund if you change your mind (at least 3 days beforehand).

I still only have 6 posts, so can't include the website info here...let me know if you want it and I'll post several short posts so I can do it.

I hope this is helpful. You DO have to get your own taxi to the park, as this isn't a cruise-based tour and wouldn't offer the usual bus transpo.

(NOW, can we all go RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!???)

Cindy

I checked the navigators from a recent trip and the only other time I see that we can do a meet up is 5pm. So what do you all think 3pm or 5pm on Sunday?

Cool - well then, we are going to do that. I would like the website that you booked it on. What time is your excusion? Maybe we can go as a group. I want to do the whole dolphin thingy but my little one can't do it. We will have fun at the water park though.
