Not sure I was issued DAS

I just got off the video preregistration for DAS for Disneyland. I explained that with my condition I struggle in lines longer than 30 minutes.

I specifically mentioned how I have been unable to go on Haunted Mansion Holiday yet because the line is always like 70 minutes or more. She mentioned something about going to the CMs by the exit to get a return time so that I wouldn’t be thrown into the lightning lane line.. She sent me a list of attractions that have this same availability.. She never took a photo of me (could it be they already have a photo on file because I’m a Magic Key Holder?) and they never let me pick 2 ride times in advance. I was going to ask more questions but I was already running late for a different appointment.

To me it seems like I wasn’t issued DAS and this is some other pass? I’m confused because my condition isn’t mobility related.. Can someone please elaborate? Thanks in advance!

Here is the list that the CM sent me in the chat

“Some Attractions in Disneyland Park do not have a queue that is accessible to a wheelchair or ECV. These Attractions may offer a return time based on the wait for the standby queue. Attractions include the following:

Alice in Wonderland

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Casey Jr. Circus Train

Haunted Mansion

Indiana Jones Adventure

Jungle Cruise

King Arthur Carrousel

Mad Tea Party

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Peter Pan's Flight

Pinocchio's Daring Journey

Pirates of the Caribbean

Snow White's Enchanted Wish

Disa

Space Mountain

Splash Mountain”

I agree.
The only ‘pass’ is DAS, so you were not issued a different pass.
I will say, I have seen a number of similar posts in the last few weeks of people being told about this exact thing, either about themselves or their child. It's... odd, I suppose.

Makes me wonder if Disney has had a quiet policy change, or everyone hearing this is hearing it from the same CM who is misinformed, or there's some new training confusion.

I have not seen it except for mobility or what the CM understood was mostly mobility
It sounds to me like the standard instructions for people who are not able to access the standard queue and need to use the alternate entry without DAS (because of inability to use stairs, a mobility device without DAS, etc.).
It only applies to a few attractions at WDW that have inaccessible queues, but applies to a lot at Disneyland park.

Very interesting. I wish I wasn’t in such a rush when I was finally able to get on the video call so I could ask more questions! I will be going to the parks on Saturday, so I will post an update…

She did mention she was adding my fiancée and making sure she was linked to me so we could go on attractions together… So I’m not not sure if that would even be anything for mobility..

That is interesting. I don’t know why your fiancée would be added so you could go on attractions together if you don’t have DAS. I’ll be interested to see your update.

Once you get into the park, tap the 3 lines at the bottom right of the menu bar of the Disneyland app. If you do have DAS, it will show up as a tile on the page you get to by tapping the 3 lines. It won’t show up until after you enter a park.
Tapping the DAS tile will bring up a list of DAS Eligible Attractions. If you don’t see anything, you can still go to Guest Relations to try to figure it out or register for DAS if you weren’t registered.

I actually saw a post of someone being told this (almost could have copy and pasted between these two posts) about their child with diabetes.

Very much not a mobility issue, and they were posting out of confusion too not sure if they got the DAS. Several commenters said they'd experienced the same in recent days (all diabetes related(.

There was a thread regarding diabetes where the person said they had told the CM on the call that their concern about waiting in line was treating a low in line. It sounded like that was really the main (?only) thing they discussed with the CM.

Interesting how people with diabetes are experiencing the same thing as me. My condition is not diabetes, it is related to frequent use of a restroom.

I am thinking of going back to the live chat today and trying to select the pre selection attractions and seeing what they say..

Since the CM specifically said it was so you “wouldn’t be thrown into the Lightning Lane line” I wonder if DL is attempting to do something different for guests who are likely to need to exit the line.
I don’t know about DL, but at WDW, some of the Lightning Lane lines are very long and people have complained about how long the wait is in the Lightning Lane. I know at WDW, they have even added multiple switchback areas in some of the LL lines to account for the number of people. And, being full and not much wider than they need to be for ECVs and wheelchairs, it would be difficult to leave.
WDW has very few alternate entrances, so only has the LL option. Since DL has a lot of alternate entrances, I wonder if they are inserting some new process to let people without obvious needs use those.

We renewed a DAS last week at Disneyland and weren't even asked why we needed it. They just scanned my son's barcode and asked if it was all the same people and went "okay, you're all set."

So, I don't know. I have found the in park CMs to be uneven about this whole process lately. But, its trending towards requiring LESS info, not more.

This makes sense. They CAN backdoor people if they need to on several rides. One of the questions they always ask when you scan in with a DAS return is "are you okay with stairs?" I imagine if you say no, you are taken in through the exit or to an alternate loading station. So, maybe they are extending this to people who cannot wait in long LL lines.

So I just got off another video call and they said I was NOT registered for DAS. So that first CM did not register for me DAS.

This 2nd CM was a bit hesitant on issuing me a DAS. I explained to them that I have a condition to which I need immediate restroom access and that lines of 30 minutes or more are a struggle for me. They said they don’t usually issue DAS pass for it, and they kept asking me if it was possible that my party could hold my place in line for me… I’m like “uhh NO” lol. But yeah she ended up issuing it. Took my picture and booked the advance selections.

Sorry, this wasn't on the Dis, should have been more clear

In the end you got what you wanted. I think going forward you should be prepared to be state why waiting more than 30 minutes is a struggle. I’m concerned you will be deny again after your 60 days.

I don’t know how it is in DL, but at WDW, it can be a wait if you need a Companion Restroom or the large handicapped stall. I need to use one of those due to my daughter’s bathroom needs. I need to wait 15 to 20 minutes more often than not

That is ridiculous. I have had the DAS for years for this very condition. And I usually travel solo so there is no one to hold my place in line. I wouldn't be able to ride anything that has a line longer than 20 minutes. It is so hard to explain to people how debilitating bathroom issues are. They think "can't you just hold it". It all depends on what cast member you get. I find it easier to just wait to go to guest services in the park instead of online. It is so much easier for them to say "no" to someone that is not standing right in front of them.

And what if you were using a scooter or wheelchair? How were you to "simply" exit and get back to your party?????
