Not sure about DME with late arrival

I keep reading that it can take a while to get to your hotel. With an arrival time of 11:15 PM, I'm not sure I like the idea of a long shuttle ride.

Any recommendations for town cars? I was looking at Tiffany's Towncars.

With an arrival that late you have a very good chance of being either the only ones on the bus or one of very few. You should be at your resort within an hour of your flight arriving. IMO, the $60-75 that a limo will cost is not worth saving 30 minutes.

Tiffany Town Cars and Happy Limo are both good alternatives.

However, the last time we used Magical Express we checked-in around 8:30 p.m. There was no line at all, and we didn't have to wait more than 5-10 mins for the bus to leave. There were only two other people on the bus, which didn't make any other stops.

I've had one late night arrival, and it didn't go that way at all. We landed around 11 pm, and were not at our resort check in desk until 1 am. We got right on the DME bus, but we sat there for quite a while before leaving. They also had more resorts on the bus route that they typically have during the day--we were the 4th stop.:headache:

If we ever fly in late at night I will definitely book a town car. I have used FL Tours before, and had no complaints.

This was the same thing that happened to us with a late night flight. We were first on the bus....and then proceeded to wait maybe 45 mins or more for it to fill up. Then we made stops at AofA, All Stars, another one I can't remember, Boardwalk, and Beach Club (our stop). There were also people still on the bus and they were headed to Caribbean Beach. It took us a bit OVER 2 hours to arrive at our hotel!

Much of the advantage of using DME time wise evaporates after 10 p.m. because you must claim your luggage at baggage claim. An hour would be at the very low end of expectations for DME. I would estimate at least 1:20-1:50 from when you get off of the plane to when you get to the resort.

That said, a town car or cab will run you at least $60-$70 (plus tip) and would get you to your resort maybe 30-45 minutes faster. If that 30-45 minutes is worth the money, then you should take the cab or hire a town car.

Guess I've had a better experience with late arrival. I didn't even think about luggage as when I've come in late I came with only carry on.

We've only used DME once, and although it was a very late arrival, it went fairly smooth.
There were about five families on the bus-every family was at a different resort....and we were the last stop...but still only about an hour on the bus.
We usually rent when we fly, but this was for a quick-Halloween trip, Disney only...without our normal Orlando side trips. It was quite possibly our favorite trip of all!
