Normal QS In Parks

Do most parks still offer NORMAL QS that you can walk up and place an order and just use your Magic Band to pay?

Last time we went was in 2016 and I had the ADR's booked for dinners at 180 out and DH HATED the fact of having to pick what day he was eating where. We did walk up, order and pay QS for breakfast and Lunches. So this trip I promised DH no ADR's and QS only for all meals but I had NO CLUE (until I started reading today) that the mobile ordering had him having to pick a location to eat lunch at (and when) in the morning. Yes, he grumbled again on this fact when I was reading it out loud to him...so PLEASE tell me there are some normal QS places in the parks! Thank You!

Mobile ordering windows at peak times for lunch do tend to fill up quickly, hence the AM picks, which are recommended to avoid hanger. That being said, you also have the option to join "walk up" wait lists for the TS restaurants (if those are in your budget and they have space). Depending on the park you can also venture to a neighboring resort for options that are way less intense than the in-park options. I think you'll be OK. Have fun!

Thank you! I like your idea of going to a resort (if need be) to grab food if everything is crazy busy in the parks. We are not going to do any TS this time for budget reasons and knowing the chances of walking up and getting a table will be out of the question plus, or course, promising DH that I was going to make him pick when and where he wants to each 180 days out! I've never mobile ordered more than 30 minutes in advance and have had no issues getting a pickup window when we were hungry. We didn't go during Christmas but were there Thanksgiving week and had no issues.

I have seen the advice to reserve a slot early but don't have any personal experience with that being necessary.

Sleepy hollow at MK and Pongu Pongu at AK are both still walk-up which are good breakfast spots. We also did Geyser Point (WL) which you can walk up and take out the order or sit down and dine in if you choose. It’s a quick boat ride from MK.

Heck, back in November I didn't place a mobile order until I was outside of the restaurant. I don't think I waited more than 5-10 minutes after placing the order before getting notice that it's ready.

Welll....except one time when I placed an order at Rosie's All-American and the app said it would be ready in 5 minutes. I was over by Muppets 3-D and after placing the order, I realized I didn't know where Rosie's was. And then when I saw it on the map, discovered I was on the other side of the park.
I think sparks flew off my ECV when I cranked it all the way up and took off across the park.

Thanks, good to hear I also don't like doing mobile order too far ahead I like having lunch near wherever I happen to be in the park, rather than ordering from somewhere in the morning, then it turns out I'm way over the other side of the park when the time comes Like you, I know my ECV will go a lot faster, but I'd rather not have to find out HOW fast!
