Where were you when Elvis left the building? Rumor has it that he is the entertainment on tomarrows cruise.

I was coaching a little league football team when I got the word. You see it was my birthday as it is today. How can I forget the day "The King" died.
By the way, Babe Ruth died the day I was born. 8/16/48

I was kind of young and seem to remember being at school. By the way...ruvidu - Happy Birthday!.

I was in Hawaii when the King died. It was REALLY big news there, since he was so popular over there. If I remember correctly, Groucho Marx died the next day, or maybe it was the previous day.

'Beano'

I was sitting in on a garage band rehearsal, they were "perfecting" one of the Elvis songs they did!

I was actually in Las Vegas when it happened - talk about a town going into mourning - it was definitely interesting.

I was at softball practice on one of the hottest days in August here in Georgia when our coach told us the news, we all started singing "Burnin' Love" in memoriam and because of the heat! (I know, we were a bunch of strange high schoolers!)

Meep! I was probably out shopping with my Mother for school! I was getting ready to start Kindergarden!

As Agent K (a.k.a. Tommy Lee Jones) in "Men In Black" said " Elvis isn't dead. He has just gone home.'

My best friend & I were in the car with my mother, who was driving us to a teen clothing store called Page One, when the news came over the radio that Elvis had just died.

I was at Universal Studios Hollywood on the tram, headed for "Jaws," when they stopped for a moment and made the announcement.

I also was in the car and heard it on the radio. It was my parent's 1977 Dodge station wagon.

I was working my job as the games manager of an amusement park.

I'm not sure but I hope I was having a birthday party for me. I was just turning 6.

Happy Birthday ruvidu!

I was 11 years old, riding in my parent's Chevy Impala on a road trip from Branson/Springfield, MO heading back home to Kansas City when I heard it on the radio. I remember it was a really warm night.

Looks like I have had a few more than you though. In fact you are younger than my son. I'm glad growing old is not the same as growing up.

I was a young teen and at a friends house when I heard the story on the news. I ran home to tell my Mother and she said --- are you sure they didn't say he 'dyed' his hair or something like that -- it couldn't be that he really 'died'.

Nope Mom -- I was correct on this one.
;)

In case anyone hasn't heard...

...officials have finally come up with irrefutable evidence that, contrary to rumors, Elvis really is dead.

The evidence?... He has registered to vote in Chicago!!!
