Non-AP Ticket Holders and New Park Reservations System-INFO POST #76

Please let me know if you find it I spoke to a CM today. He said it was the 'hot topic' at yesterday's meeting ad there should be an answer 'within a few hours'. "Part of the problem are the people who will claim family and friend in Orlando that need ot be added to the reservation" - direct quote. I say freeze the reservations where tey are now. Nobody gets added.

I bet they find tickets for the NBA...

I don’t know how I’ll be able to find out anything by Monday, especially since the DVC member services line will probably be “all circuits busy” for the next several days.

My situation can’t be that unique. We have a DVC points only reservation for early December with a party that consists of:

1. Me with an AP that expired in May. That should be extended to September but still won’t do me any good.

2. My wife, who has a valid AP that will expire in 2021.

3. An adult daughter who has no active ticket.

4. A second adult daughter who is a Disney cast member who will probably be blocked out.

It kind of defeats the purpose of the trip if only one of us can get a park ticket, and even that isn’t guaranteed.

Sounds like we will either be cancelling or turning a one week trip into a couple of days to visit our daughter and see resort holiday decorations.

please remember this is not Disney trying to ruin your trip. They are basically loosing millions of dollars by not selling tickets and booking rooms. This is their way to be able to reopen controlling the crowds, it is what needs to happen now.
I respectfully diasagree. They are choosing to cater to offsite guests over onsite guests. And please don't get me started on opening the window to everyone's craziness on Monday - people wanting to swap their 7 day park hoppers to 3 3/4 non hoopers and 3 1/4 regular tickets for 3 split stays in POP but not mods starting next November when there are a bunch of us presumably travelling in the next 4-6 weeks that have to make decisions on airfare, work schedules etc...NOW. The system will crash. They should have staggered things a bit. Meanwhile those of us with partial tickets and due to fly can't get basic answers. And others have no idea if they will get into any park in the next 30 days. But definitely, let's worry about the 2021 folks.

I just don't see how they are giving anyone any preferential treatment. They clearly stated that you would need a ticket for this new system, they said that on the 27, even before the 27 all the rumors were pointing that way.
I agree that opening the system to everyone on Monday is a bad idea, and it will crash no doubt.

And btw I'm a local APholder who used to visit 3 times a day, wake up and pick a park to go to, I won't be able to do that for a while, as well as no park hopping, so I'm being affected as well, who knows if I'll be able to book and I have to be restricted to only 3 days can't book more than that
But it's all about reading what they're telling you and having realistic expectations.
At the end of the day if the vacation doesn't work for you they are giving you options to cancel or change

I'd love to know when that is - sound like a polite way of saying, 'it's not happening - have a magical day"
I believe what they will do is see how the parks behave in terms of the virus. If people are mostly adhering to the rules and the numbers start to go down, capacity will go up and then they'll be able to open for more tickets

I stupidly thought tickets would be available via UT or one of the other resellers. Our guests with tickets dropped out because they have COVID fears. The new guests couldn't get tickets - they bought through Boardwalk tickets only to find out via a chat after being charged twice (friend's fault)- they didn't actually have them - but would have to wait like everyone else - clearly not what their website says. So here we are. But I bet you the NBA and their families will have access.

I lose 266 points if I cancel

NBA talk is neither here or there as they will go before or after park closing, so they won't count as regular day capacity.
The thread can stay open as long as it doesn't get unnecessarily argumentative

I keep seeing this, and I know it comes from a place of frustration, but no, the NBA players will not be taking away park reservations from therest of us. They can't visit the parks at all;
NBA Players not allowed to visit parks
Try and back away from the keyboard for now and set that alarm nice and early for Monday if you have reservations and tickets (or maybe don't - less wait time for me ;)).

FWIW, Disney was still selling APs until just a couple of hours ago. I had 2 Gold APs in my cart this afternoon and I got redirected to the new information page when I went to pay for them. So, they changed their minds between when I put them in the cart and when I went to pay for them. So yeah, I'm a little salty now.

Are they even letting people resort hop? Somebody told me you had to have a dining reservation or be a guest in the resort itself.

Is the reservation system being opened for all guests no matter how many days you have before vacation?? Itgought I heard, maybe a rumor, that it was going to open for those at 90 day mark.

On Monday, it is opening for anyone who currently has a resort reservation and tickets.
