[The Foolish Mortal]

I have never been there, but some of the people in my family group trip this May want to visit the lounge during our AK day. So, does it take advance reservations? Is it just first come, first serve? How difficult is it to get a table? We will have four adults, one child, and two babies. I think th fam just wants some drinks and small plates. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I don't believe lounges take reservations, but we had no trouble just walking right in. We didn't get an outside table, but there were plenty of inside tables available.

It’s first come/first serve. It fills very quickly. Once that happens, they will take your name and phone number and text you when a table becomes available. Then you have ten minutes to make it back. The bad thing about that is you may be told it will be an hour, so you think, “Great! Let’s go ride Dinosaur; it’s a 20 minute wait.” Then they text you 15 minutes later. I’ve never had to wait the full time, so I end up wandering aimlessly around the stores looking at things I know I won’t be buying. I always try to rope drop Nomad, so I don’t have to wait this way!

On our last trip we walked up to the lounge and got on the waitlist that way. Sometimes it's available in the MDE app (hit "Join Walk-Up List" on the Nomad Lounge page).

Even if the MDE app is showing the waitlist is full I still recommend going to the podium at the lounge and trying there. We did this in May and were seated in 30 minutes (they originally estimated 75 minutes, but we got the text much quicker than that).

As others have said, no reservations, walk up and wait list. I've had good luck getting there about 10 min. before it opens and just getting a seat when it opens. I've also been there around 11:30 and got a seat right away. Last time I went it was around lunch time or a little after and I had to go on wait list. I could have gotten a seat if I wanted to sit at the bar but I'm not a fan of sitting at the bar. They told me it was going to be a hour and it was about 45 min. I browsed some shops, did the trails around the tree of life so it was all good. I got every trip.
