No Wristbands for Parties?

A co-worker of mine said that she recently purchased tickets for MNSSHP, and called Disney to find out how to link them to her Magic Bands. Apparently, the CM said that all hard tickets will be linked to the bands. I can't see Disney doing away with the party wristbands. Otherwise how will they distinguish between regular park guests and party guest?

Better(safer) to NOT connect your arty tickets to MDE/MagicBands.

Regardless, they WILL still be using the wristbands which are distributed at MK and are
not affected by which kind of ticket (or band) is being used at the park for entry.

If they don't have the wristbands be VERY afraid.

I quit going to the parties after realizing that at least half the people around me at the parade had not bothered to pay for the party but just hung out for the fireworks, shows and parades.

I understand it's gotten better, but if they don't do wristbands then the "freeloading" will once again ht epic numbers.

Not to mention it will take you twice as long to get on any ride while the CM tries to get the Tragic Band to work :confused3

If you buy the tickets online, they are automatically attached to your magicband. (Just bought mine through the DVC site.) I will bring the hard copies as well just in case there are problems.

I bought mine online. Where does it show they are linked?
I don't want to link them.

I'm not sure that's the case (although, anything is possible.)

Party tickets have not been linked to bands. We went to MNSSHP and MCMCP last year and we're told tix could not be linked.

I bought my MNSSHP tix online and they automatically linked to MDE. The problems experienced with this last year were obviously still during testing. Hopefully this is squared away now that they're automatically linking at least some party tix.

That was still during testing. Mine for this year linked automatically to MDE after I purchased them online.

My Halloween party tickets have not been linked. We got them in the mail yesterday. So, as always things are not consistent. We will not be linking them based on the issues last year.

Seems like a good idea to me. One less hard ticket to carry around (of course you want to print out your purchase receipt, just in case). The party goers will still get the hospital-style wristband so they can continue to kick out the freeloaders that were mentioned above. :lmao:

As the PPs have said, linking (or not linking) the tickets to your Magic Band/MDE is independent of the wristbands at the party. In the past years, when you entered MK using your party ticket, a CM would then put a wristband on your wrist to distinguish you from the non-party guests. No matter what type of ticket media you used (hard ticket, print out, etc.), you still got a wristband once you entered MK for the party. I don't see this changing.

Even if thy are linking party tickets to the Magic Band that doesn't mean they won't be doing party specific wrist bands. I can't see them getting rid of party wrist bands.

Mine are not linked. I just double checked. I wanted to keep them apart because I am not planning on a park ticket for the party day and want to make sure that it doesn't take one of my park days off my MB when I scan in for the party. I'm just going to keep our hard tickets separate and take then to the gate on party night.

Our tickets were automatically linked, but we will be using the hard tickets for entry.

I just checked the MDE site and all of my NOJ tix and MNSSHP tix were automatically linked to all our magic bands. Now I wonder if we will be able to make FP+ reservations ? Last year we couldn't with hard ticket events.

I didn't do anything to link mine, and they just appeared in my MDE after I bought them. I choose the regular mail option too. I don't know why mine got automatically linked and others didn't. :confused3

It won't / can't take a day park ticket off. The turnstiles (now touch-points) used for party entry are only programmed to read party tickets after a specific time of day. If someone attempts to scan a day park ticket at the party entry, it will come up on the CM iPod touch as "invalid day" or "no valid media attached".
