"No One's Gloomy or Complaining"-in DISNEY WORLD!~An 11/12 TR!-*NEW TR Link pg 56!!!*

Yay for getting a job and going to Disney in December! :cool1: We'll miss you by a few days. I hope the new job goes well. It makes a huge difference in your quality of life to go from a negative work environment to a normal one! (I had a much less extreme version of that years ago).

Jen, good for you for taking care of yourself and getting out of what was clearly a horrible situation. I am so very happy for you about your new job and hope for a hospital position for you in the future!
And best of all...

So so so happy for your disney trip!!!

Jen, I'm sorry for all the drama you've had this year. No wonder you've been so gloomy.

I'm glad you found a job, even if only a temporary one.

And I'm happy to hear you are going to Disney. You even overlap us by a day.

Thanks! Yeah, it's been a rough year but it finally seems to be getting better! I'm excited for 2014, I think it's gonna be a good one! :thumbsup2

Thanks! It's not temporary exactly, I'm just going to keep looking while I'm at it. I mean, who knows, I might love it and want to stay the rest of my life, but we'll see! I'm keeping my options open!

Thanks! I can't wait!!! I'm getting so excited now! :cool1:

Wow Jen. Sorry that you had to go through an unhealthy work situation. That really, really stinks. It hurts in a lot of ways - your pocket book, your self esteem. Congrats on finishing your CNA class and getting your certificate. I hope you find something in the hospital, but quite honestly you are probably better in an office. There may be opportunities for you to put some of those skills in place and in the hospital the CNS work is not so glamorous. Don't give you on your nursing dream. Start taking courses at a local community college - you know the pre-req stuff (unless you have already completed that elsewhere).

Congrats on your new job. I hope you love the staff and the patients and working 4 days a week is awesome!

What's even better is a trip to Disney World. Congrat! :cool1::cheer2::cool1:

Yeah, it was rough...I mean, it would have been one thing if I screwed up at work or something, but I didn't do anything wrong...I just kind of took it as a sign that it was time to move on and that it all happened for a reason and whatever struggles I've had to face in the past year are all preparing me for something fantastic! :goodvibes

And yeah, I know CNA work isn't glamourous lol...trust me, I never wanted to be a CNA. I have no interest in working in nursing homes, which is where a majority of CNA's work, I want to be a PCT in an actual hospital. I know that's not glamourous either, but I feel like it's a bit more medical than being just a CNA. It's weird too, all the gross stuff CNA's do just doesn't bother me. :confused3 It's like I can shut my mind off and just do it. So I'm just going to keep applying to hospitals and hope eventually I get an interview!

Oh, and I have a BA degree in psychology, but since I graduated so long ago (2005 I think?) I'm guessing I'd have to do all the pre req's for nursing school over...I'm still not 100% sure that's what i want to do, which is why I'm hoping to get a job in a hospital sooner or later, to see if I really like it! For now though, I'm happy I have this new job to look forward to and try! Maybe I'll love it and work here for the rest of my life, you never know! Maybe I'll hate it and go back to daycare...no idea, I'm just happy I'm being brave enough to try something new in my life for once! :cool1:

And thanks...I'm SO happy to be going back to Disney!!!

I am so happy for you Jen. I had a feeling you might have quit your job. I have worked at places that you think it must be highschool because of the drama involved.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm sure it was pretty easy to figure out lol! I didn't quit because of the drama exactly, I worked there for 6 years and was involved in plenty of drama...I quit because it felt like they were personally against me for some reason, like they were trying to drive me out, and I was afraid I was going to get fired...I didn't want that to happen so I just left. Maybe it wasn't the smartest decision, I don't know, but now, after 5 months, it seems like the best thing I could have done for myself! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Yay for getting a job and going to Disney in December! :cool1: We'll miss you by a few days. I hope the new job goes well. It makes a huge difference in your quality of life to go from a negative work environment to a normal one! (I had a much less extreme version of that years ago).

Thanks! :goodvibes Ahh that figures! Thank you, I hope so too! I'm nervous of course, but I'm mostly nervous about meeting all of the new people...I wish I could just skip over the first few weeks and get to that comfortable part of working you know? Where you don't feel like the new person anymore? I hate that! :rotfl2: But yeah, I'm definitely happy to be out of that negative environment! I'm still friends with a lot of people from there, and apparently, tons of people left after I did too, it's too bad, because it could be such a great little place if people were just supportive of each other, instead of trying to rip each other apart. Oh well! Live and learn! I've definitely learned a LOT about myself since I left! :thumbsup2

Jen, good for you for taking care of yourself and getting out of what was clearly a horrible situation. I am so very happy for you about your new job and hope for a hospital position for you in the future!

Thank you so much! :goodvibes Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing or if I should have stuck it out and waited for it to blow over but I know it was right to leave! And now I have this great new job to start and a Disney trip to look forward to! Things are looking up! :thumbsup2

Just Around the Corner There's a NEW Fantasyland!

(Hmm I'm going to have to make sure I haven't used that as a chapter title already...it seems very familiar lol...)

Thursday 11/15

Hi guys! If you missed my previous update, please read it before this one! I think it's on the same page! :thumbsup2 It's got some huge news in it!

When we left off, we were on our way to New Fantasyland! Remember, this is last year, when New Fantasyland wasn't officially open, so the fact that we could get in during the Christmas Party was a big deal!

We got there and I immediately wanted to go on the Little Mermaid ride again! But first, I had to make Brandon take a picture of me in front of Eric's Castle...

Meh. I thought I liked that picture when it was taken, but now looking at it, not so much! :confused3

Anyway, this area is just so perfect, I just can't get over how much it looks just like the movie!

I took a bunch of pictures of the queue, but since it was dark and drizzling, none of them turned out very well! I'm sure by now you have seen a ton of them though!

I was surprised that no one was in line! We basically ran through the whole queue and got right on, I figured there would have been a wait, but it was empty!

Under the Sea!

Kiss the Girl!

Sigh. Isn't that ride just perfect? Definitely a new favorite!

When we finished, I wanted to check out Enchanted Tales with Belle...I wasn't sure how long the wait would be, but if it was decent, I kind of wanted to see it. I didn't think Brandon would be interested, but he didn't really know what it was, so he didn't care!

Just had to take a picture of Gaston's fountain on the way!

I thought Belle's cottage was adorable outside, again, I tried to get some cute pictures, but they are all awful! I seriously need a real camera...I keep saying that and I have yet to buy one though! Probably because once I get one, I will have no idea how to use it! :confused3

The inside is awesome too, with the mirror, and then the wardrobe!

And then walking into the library is the best, and seeing Lumiere!

Brandon was fascinated by him, he really liked all of the effects in this, I was surprised! I figured he would think it was stupid and girly but he actually loved it!

Finally Belle came out and the story began!

Belle's old dress and hair...I kind of miss it!

This Belle was absolutely perfect, it's like this girl was born to be friends with Belle, she was so beautiful! I was so intimidated by her, there is no way I could have spoken to her if I had the chance! I love the princesses so much but I'm SO afraid of them and their perfection! :rotfl: I hope I can get over it on my next trip because I really want to see the new Fairytale Hall!

We didn't really know what to do next so we left New Fantasyland...the fireworks were going to start soon but we still had some time, so we decided to meet a character who didn't have much of a line...

Scrooge McDuck! I was so happy to meet him, I love meeting the more random characters! He was in such a weird location too, so I don't think too many people realized he was even there, which is a shame! He was really cute!

(Ugh you know, sometimes I'm ashamed of the way I look walking around the parks...yoga capris, Crocs...I can't help it though, I like comfort! :rotfl2:)

We decided to walk towards the hub and find a good spot for Holiday Wishes, and on the way we saw a photopass photographer so we took a few pictures:

I actually don't mind those pictures of us. Except for the Crocs of course. I'm starting to realize just how awful they are...but they are SO comfy! I seriously can't imagine walking around Disney in anything else!

I noticed the Castle was changing from blue to purple so I had to stop and get a few pictures...it just looked so beautiful I couldn't resist!!

We finally made our way over to the hub which wasn't too crowded yet, which was awesome because we got a perfect spot! And not just for Holiday Wishes...remember when I said there were 3 things I wanted to do at MVMCP that night? One was the Phineas and Ferb picture, the second was seeing New Fantasyland again, and the third was to see the new Celebrate the Magic Castle show! Again, last year around this time, this show was brand new! I loved The Magic, Memories and you, so I was kind of skeptical that this show could be even better, so I had to see it!

Up next...more MVMCP!

(Grrr...I'm trying to change my avatar and nothing is working! I've changed it a million times, so I know how, but nothing is working! So I either have to use one of the boring premade Dis ones, or have nothing until it decides to work again...annoyed...)

I totally missed that show. I hadn't realized it started till after I no longer had an opportunity to get over and see it. I heard it was great.

Another great update, Jen.

Love the picture of you with Scrooge.

Beautiful castle shots!

And congrats again that you will be at Disney soon (we will have to chat to see if we are at the same park on the one day we overlap).

I'm so sorry to hear about all the stress that's been going on in your life, Jen. I can only imagine how hard it must have been to quit your job. But, at least you took charge and decided to pursue a dream. That's very admirable. :goodvibes

YAY! A December trip! :dance3:

That's so great. I'm sure you are very excited to see all the holiday decorations again and be back in the world. Our dates coincide, so perhaps we'll run into eachother again!

ETWB sounds like it was a lot of fun! It's so nice when you get a good character experience. And don't worry about meeting the princesses. I thought it'd be silly to meet face characters, but I realized that I wanted the pictures too bad to care. :rotfl2:

Your Photopass pictures are great. I love the castle all lit up for the holidays!

I'm sorry that things were so rough with your job, and I understand why you had to get yourself out of that environment. But congratulations on the new job and trip to WDW!!! It is so great that you finally have some good things happening for you after dealing with all of that bad stuff. I hope that you enjoy this new job and it works for you until you can get your dream job.

Great party update! I love your picture with Scrooge. When we were at the party last year I thought that his location was a bit random as well, but there was a lineup there so people must have been able to find him well enough :rotfl: I also used to wear only crocs in the parks (I have horrible feet/body and pretty much everything gives me pain) but I recently started wearing Birkenstocks and they put crocs to shame!

First of, YAY YOU ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!
Second, YAY YOU GOT A JOB!!!!!

Third, awesome that there was no wait for little mermaid! We went on the one in Disneyland and it made me miss the Que in MK.

Great update and yay you got to do all your MUST DOS :)

Hi Jen
Congrats on the new job. I give you a lit of credit for quiting your old job...that sucks when you know things/people at work are against you..I know that feeling too well.
But I am so happy you took that class, took the certification test and now have a job!! You worked for it and I'm sure your proud of yourself.
And like you said...you dont have to stay there forever! !
I am really sorry for the loss your dad..I lost my dad in 2010...there are no words to describe the pain.

And you are going to DISNEY soon!!!!!! Sooo awesome..I leave in 18 days....and i am just about al packed! Lol
I wish we were overlapping. ..one of these years!!! Lol

Yay for quitting your job and finally being able to be happy! My friend just did that too!

Congrats on the new job and the new disney trip! I arrive on December 5th so I will just miss you!

Hey hon.

Sorry about all of the drama that you've been through this year. But I think you're definitely making the right decision. I went through something similar to that before I ended up in my current job, which I've had for 9 years. I pretty much did the same thing you did, and I can't be happier with my decision. I know you will be too.

AND you're going back to Disney. Even better. :thumbsup2

You look great in that picture. ;)

Comfy shoes are a necessary evil in Disney. No matter how they look. Rock those Crocs man!

I totally missed that show. I hadn't realized it started till after I no longer had an opportunity to get over and see it. I heard it was great.

It was great, I'm sorry you didn't get to see it! Hopefully next time!

Another great update, Jen.

Thanks!

I can't wait, it doesn't seem real! I don't think I'll actually be convinced that I'm going until I have my first paycheck from my new job, I keep feeling like something is going to go wrong and I won't be able to save up or something! Just gotta make it to next Friday and then maybe I'll be able to start a PTR! :thumbsup2 I hope we can at least say hi when we're there! I'm debating on taking a late flight home on December 4th so we can get another half day of Disney in, but I'm not sure I want to risk it, if there's a delay or something...not sure yet!

I'm so sorry to hear about all the stress that's been going on in your life, Jen. I can only imagine how hard it must have been to quit your job. But, at least you took charge and decided to pursue a dream. That's very admirable. :goodvibes

Thanks! I don't know if it's admirable or crazy lol! But yeah, I so much less stressed and so much happier right now, it's great!

I can't believe we will be in Disney at the same time again! Yay!!!

Haha I know, I definitely want to meet the princesses on this next trip so I can see Fairytale hall! And I'll be with Brandon, he can talk their ears off for me since I'll be so nervous!

Thanks!

Thank you! Yeah it's been a rough year...it's weird, even when I was in Disney in February, I had a weird feeling about my job, and nothing was even happening at that point...I just felt like I wouldn't be there much longer. I think the universe knew it was time for a change for me or something haha!

Thanks! Hmm, Birkenstocks? I don't think I've ever had a pair of those in my life!! I can't imagine something more comfortable than Crocs, maybe I should look into it...

Yay!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I've only seen pictures of the LM ride in Disneyland, but it definitely does not look as nice on the outside as the WDW one does! That huge building just seems strange! :rotfl2:

Thanks!

I wish we were overlapping. ..one of these years!!! Lol

Thanks! It probably wasn't the best decision, quitting before I had something lined up, I just assumed I'd find another daycare job and be just as miserable lol. Then my mom went in the hospital and I kind of woke up and realized I had to do something else with my life before it gets to be too late...hopefully it all works out! I just really want to work in a hospital at some point, so I hope I can get into one sooner or later! :cool1:

Thanks! Yeah, losing a parent is very hard...it was just so unexpected too, there really are no words. I'm sorry for your loss as well. :goodvibes

Yay DISNEY!!! I didn't even know you were going soon! 18 days, wow!! I hope we overlap someday, there are so many people on the DIS that I want to meet and my trips never overlap with theirs! :rotfl2:

Yay for quitting your job and finally being able to be happy! My friend just did that too!

Congrats on the new job and the new disney trip! I arrive on December 5th so I will just miss you!

Thanks! Ugh it's tough, but it worked out in the end I think! Yay! :yay:

Thanks! Oh, that figures! If I was going on the trip I originally had planned, I would have been there until the 7th but I had to cut it way down since you know, I haven't been working and everything! :rotfl2:

Hey hon.

Sorry about all of the drama that you've been through this year. But I think you're definitely making the right decision. I went through something similar to that before I ended up in my current job, which I've had for 9 years. I pretty much did the same thing you did, and I can't be happier with my decision. Thanks! It's been a tough year but I think things are finally getting better! It's so hard for me to say that, because I'm the kind of person who's always waiting for the next bad thing to happen, haha! I just can't wait til 2013 is over, I have a good feeling about next year! :thumbsup2

Yay, I'm so excited to finally go back! It's been too long!

Thanks! I do love my Crocs, even though they are hideous! I have to buy a nice, shiny new pair for my trip soon! :dance3:

Celebrating the Magic!

Thursday, 11/15

When we left off, Brandon and I were walking towards the hub to find a spot to watch Holiday Wishes and more importantly, the new Castle show, Celebrate the Magic! I was nervous about this show, I didn't see how it could be better than the Magic, Memories and You, so I couldn't miss it! I loved MM&Y so much, so I was hoping the new show was almost as good!

Soon the Magic Kingdom went dark and Celebrate the Magic started...

OMG!!! I was blown away by Celebrate the Magic! I liked it even more than MM&Y, I couldn't believe how amazing it was! I seriously can't wait to see it again, because for some reason, I forgot about it in February and completely missed it! I love these castle projection shows, I can't believe some of the things Disney comes up with!

Next up was my favorite thing in the world...Holiday Wishes! I love the regular everyday Wishes so much, so combining it with Christmas makes this even more perfect for me! Hallowishes is great too, I know a lot of people think the Halloween fireworks are the best ones at Disney, but I personally think Holiday Wishes is the best!

Here are just a few highlights, because I'm sure you've seen a million pictures of them before, especially if you have read any of my previous TR's haha:

Yay, Holiday Wishes! Christmas music and Disney fireworks, doesn't get much better than that if you ask me!

Once the fireworks were over, I wanted to find a good spot for the parade! The Once Upon a Christmastime parade is another favorite of mine, and we always wait until the second parade of the night and watch it in Fronteirland, so we walked that way to claim a spot! Someday I'd like to see it on Main Street, but it's so much quieter in Fronteirland, and easier to get a good spot right up front!

We waited in our spot for maybe 30 minutes before the parade started. It's too bad you have to waste so much time claiming your spot in the front if you want to be able to see, but I hate watching parades with people in front of me! That's why I never bother with the afternoon parades, because I can't be bothered to find a good place to stand, and I don't feel like standing behind 10 people, trying to get a peek at what's going on!

Here's where we were:

And here are some pictures from the parade! It's hard for me to get good pictures with my camera, because it's so dark and it's always moving, but I did get a few cute ones:

(Isn't it so cute that you can see those ponies at Fort Wilderness? Just hanging out, living life in Disney World? I just think that is so cool for some reason!)

OMG I love the Toy Soldiers! I love how their feet clomp on the ground!

And the reindeer! They're my favorite thing about this parade!

Sorry, really bad shot of Santa to end the parade haha!

Once the parade was over, there was still a decent amount of party time left! I know Brandon was getting tired at that point, but I really wanted to go back to New Fantasyland, so we went off in that direction again!

(Going to continue this in the next post because I really want to finish up the Christmas party today!)

To be continued...

Celebrating the Magic Part 2!

Thursday 11/15

Once we got to New Fantasyland, I went into Belle's little shop (I forget what it's called!) and looked around, because I really wanted to buy something but I didn't know what! Belle is my favorite princess so I had to get something from there, and everything was so nice...and some of it was very expensive haha!

Isn't that pretty?

And Belle ornaments! I love the ear hat ornaments, if I was a millionaire, I'd buy every single one. (Of course, who am I kidding, I'd buy every ornament made by Disney and have a Disney Christmas tree in every room in my house. 365 days a year. :thumbsup2)

Finally I settled on something, and we went back outside. I had to check out the Gaston fountain again, since no one was around, I love that he is the one who gave this to the village haha!

We went down to the Little Mermaid ride, and guess what? No one was there! So we went on again! This time I didn't take any pictures, I just sat back and enjoyed it! Amazing! I love this ride more and more, it's so perfect!

Once we finished riding that, I held back my tears as we said goodbye to New Fantasyland. It was so amazing that we were able to see it before it opened, not once, but twice! I was a little emotional leaving, but the party would be ending in a little while, and as much as I wouldn't mind spending my whole night in there, I don't think Brandon would like it as much haha!

We went towards Tomorrowland, and I think Brandon suggested going on the teacups...I didn't want to, but I agreed if he wouldn't spin us too much. :rotfl2:

Of course, I always go on not wanting to spin a lot, but once you're actually in a teacup, you have to see how fast you can spin the thing, so we did that, and I somehow managed not to get sick! It's weird, I don't get motion sickness ever, but rides like the teacups and the horrifying Astro Orbiter, I can't handle. Not that I've ever gotten sick from them...but sometimes they make me a little nauseous, so I don't like to take the chance. Give me a roller coaster any day over a spinning ride! :cool1:

After the teacups, I wanted to go over to Main Street before the party was over to look around the shops. On our way over, we caught a little of the show in front of the castle. I don't know why we never stop to watch these shows, they are really cute! Especially this Christmas one!

(I LOVE that picture! It just screams Disney and Christmas!)

Once it was over and the Dream lights were back on, I had to stop and look at them for a few minutes. I knew it was our last night in MK and that we only had a little while left, so I had to say goodbye. (If I only knew then what a tough year I had ahead of me and how hard it would be for me to get back to Disney this year, I probably would have appreciated it a little more. I cherish every second that I'm in Disney, but because I've been going twice a year for the past few years, and because I knew I'd be back in 3 months, I don't think I appreciated this trip as much as I should have while I was there. And I know I definitely did not appreciate my February trip as much as I should have. Not making those mistakes again, when I am on Disney property again next month, I'm seriously going to be thankful for every second that I am there. I can't keep taking things for granted like I did for the past few years, because everything can change in a second. :thumbsup2)

Sorry, feel free to ignore my life lessons, lol, I was basically just lecturing myself!

Anyway, I stood and looked at the Castle for a few minutes and took a few last pictures and turned around to walk down Main Street. I was sad to be leaving MK, but at that point, I figured I'd be back this year for some ridiculous, over the top December Christmas trip that would be even longer and better than this trip, so I didn't really give it much thought. I was already planning our 2 weeks at the Yacht Club for next year haha. :rotfl2:

Main Street looked absolutely beautiful as we were walking out. The snow was falling, the lights were twinkling, and it was perfect. It's hard to be sad when you are in Disney World, surrounded by Christmas, you know?

I think I looked around some stores on the way out and Brandon just waited for me on Main Street, because he didn't feel like dealing with the people in the stores. And I think he knows I won't take as long if he's not actually in the stores with me haha. So I just went in alone and soon it was 12 and it was really time to leave the Magic Kingdom. The party was over.

Goodbye Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! See you soon!

We made the long journey back to the car (which alway seems like it takes forever at the end of an MK day, doesn't it? The whole tram/ferry or monorail thing is just too much!) and were back at POR before I knew it! We were so tired and we passed out as soon as we got back to the room. :faint: And we still had one more Disney day ahead of us!

Up next..our last Disney Day of the trip!

Wonderful updates, Jen. You got some stunning shots of the castle show,(love that new show and we totally missed it last month and won't be making that mistake again), Wishes and the parade.

:yay::yay::yay: for getting in a couple of more attractions before the park closed, and leaving Brandon outside while shopping (always a good idea).

Can't wait to hear about your last day.

Great update :)

I LOVE the castle pics from Christmas wishes!!!!!!! They're perfect!!!

life lessons. Gotta love em! :)

You're the only person who can make me WANT to go back to Disney during Christmas time! We went that one time back in 2006 and I wasn't overly impressed so we always stick to October now. But the MK looks so pretty in your pictures!

It's funny that you mention how you dress to parks because I swear I made a similar comment to my DF on our trip! I was wearing yoga pants and crocs and asked him if I looked like a loser! :rotfl2: I'd wear them anyway because they're so comfortable, but our room at BWV didn't have a full length mirror so I couldn't see myself and it made me self conscious!

I know you know this already but I am so happy you get to go back this year! I told you I had a good feeling about that job! :thumbsup2

Fantabulous update! I'm going to my very first MVMCP next year and I can't wait. Your update got me so excited!
