"No One's Gloomy or Complaining"-in DISNEY WORLD!~An 11/12 TR!-*NEW TR Link pg 56!!!*

Hollywood!!!

When we got back to Pixar Place, we had about 5 minutes before we could use our FP's so we just stood to the side to wait. While we were standing there, a green army guy came out! I was so excited, I've seen pictures of them but this was my first time seeing one in person! Brandon was excited too, and no one was going over to this guy, so I made Brandon go up to him and take a picture with him! When we got over to him, Brandon said something dorky like "permission to take a picture with you sir?" :rotfl: Ugh we are such losers!

Love it!
At least he does it. My DBF refused to do any character greets at all. So Sad...

If you don't want to do a TR I'd understand, but I'm sure all your readers (including me) would love to read one!

+1! I don't think there is ever such thing as too many holiday reports! But if you decide not to do one, that's understandable too. :goodvibes

I get the same anxiety as you about 50's but I have eaten there a few times, and it is never as bad as I play it up in my mind to be. :lmao: I remember going for the very first time with my parents, and I spent the entire time totally focused on keeping my elbows off the table, I was almost in a panic about it! Now I think they have toned it down a bit, and especially do so when they can tell you are not into it. To this day, I have never had to stand with my nose against the wall or sing I'm a Little Teapot in front of the restaurant. :rotfl:

Great morning at DHS! When time is so short, it's hard to invest so much of it in a long wait time, so I think you are probably right when you said you didn't ride ToT because of the wait. I can't think of any other practical reason, anyway!!! :rotfl:

Love that pic of the Green Army Man with Brandon. :thumbsup2 We seemed to see them out and about a lot more this year, and witnessed some pretty hilarious interactions with other guests! I got a great video of two of them for my TR. :goodvibes

I promise you that 50's isn't as bad as you think. Not all of the people that work there get that into it, and even so I think they're good at figuring out if the guest is uncomfortable. It's all in good fun, nobody would actually yell at you. ;)

So curious about your lunch!

I do want to, but I just feel like they're all the same..."oh here I am, in Disney at Christmas again" :rotfl:! It depends, if this is like, the best trip ever, I'll definitely do one, and just because this year has been SO awful and I feel like I'm going to be SO emotional when I get there, it's going to be a really good trip! :thumbsup2

Haha, I'm sure 50's is fun, but just thinking about it gives me such anxiety! But I really want to face my fear and try it someday! :rotfl2:

Great pics! :)

Thank you! :goodvibes

The pictures of you are NOT awful!

My TR sounds much of the same.. if I don't have a picture than I have no idea what I did or why!

Every trip is different even its at the same time of the year so I'm sure we would all like to hear about your next trip!

Try eating at the Tune-In Lounge sometime if you don't want to try the restaurant. But honestly its just FUN!

Aww, thanks! I think they are though, but that's nice of you to say! :goodvibes

Haha I know, by the end of the trip, forget it, I am so bad with keeping track of what we did!

Thanks! Maybe I will do a TR, I'm not sure yet...it all depends on how the trip goes! :thumbsup2

That's a good idea, I always forget you can eat there! :yay:

25 days! Woo hoo!!!!!

You know I would always be there for your TR if you chose to do one. So I vote yes. :thumbsup2

Don't worry about PTC! It's so much fun. And most of the time, I actually get a boring server. :lmao:

Dorky is all good my dear. Especially in WDW! It's like the dork homeland.

21 days now! :dance3:

Thanks, I'd like to do one, it just all depends on the trip! We shall see! :yay:

Haha, see, if I went, I know I'd get a server who is totally into it, and would pick up on my shyness and probably mess with me even more, and then I'd cry or something! I need to face my fears I think! :rotfl:

Maybe that's why I feel so at home in WDW, because I'm a giant dork! :crazy2:

Loved reading about the Christmas party. We are going for the first time and can't wait.

Yay, you are going to love it, it is SO much fun!!! :dance3:

:( wonder why you didn't write about not riding ToT.....weird.

Haha Mike would be the same way..saying no to all my adr ideas haha

No!!!! You need to make a TR for this next trip!!!! I LOVE reading about your trips!!!!!!!

You know what else is weird...why do I still care even though it happened a year ago? It really disturbs me though, no TOT??? :sad2: That's just not like me!

Haha, yeah sometimes Brandon is so difficult with the ADR's! :rotfl:

Aww thanks! I'll see what happens once this trip is over!:goodvibes

If you do decide to do a TR for your upcoming trip, I would definitely read it. I don't think you can have too many holiday reports. :rotfl:

I think the CMs at 50's gauge their audience before they start too many antics. My server saw 2 adults and didn't do anything embarrassing, so I think you'd be fine if you ate there. Plus, they are usually good at seeing if someone's uncomfortable. And the food is worth the risk.:thumbsup2

Congrats on getting the top score on TSMM! :cool1: I know when I beat Alex, it was a huge deal. So, I can relate to the excitement. :lmao:

Thanks! I don't think so either, but I worry that sometimes people get bored reading about the same thing! :rotfl2: I will be doing a few different things on this trip though, so who knows? :thumbsup2

Haha, well someday I'll try 50's! I know Brandon would love it, he loves playing along and acting like a dork, so he would have fun...I'd just be in the corner, crying or something! I'm so awkward, I can't stand it! :sad1:

Isn't it the best, beating your DH? Mine is so competitive, so he gets really upset when I beat him and makes all sorts of excuses! Sure, your shoulder hurt...you just can't admit that you LOST! :rotfl2::rolleyes1

Love it!
At least he does it. My DBF refused to do any character greets at all. So Sad...

Aww, that's too bad! You should really try to convince him to do one someday...maybe bring trick him and do a character meal or something! They're so much fun! :cool1:

Thanks! It all depends on how this trip goes, if it's just us doing the same things as we always do, I probably won't bother, but if it's a really crazy, awesome trip, I'm sure I will! :thumbsup2

OMG I would die if they tried to make me sing or something! See, that's why I'm terrified of that place! I really want to eat there though, the food looks so good!!! :thumbsup2

Yeah I have no idea why I didn't do ToT that day...it must have just been a super long wait! :confused3

I love the Green Army guys, I love that they took random Toy Story character and just let them walk around! I wish Bullseye was around more, I love him! :wave2:

Just want to say - I was watching Beauty and the Beast last night for the 1st time in many years. I finally "got" the meaning of your TR title - it jumped out at me when I heard it. That's all ........

Oh, haha, that's too funny! Well I'm glad you finally got it! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

I Mean, it's the Last Day, Where Else Would I Go?

We left Hollywood Studios and hopped over to our next park to have lunch. We left earlier than we had to since we still had some time for our next ADR, but if you have ready any of my TR's and know me at all, you know that Brandon and I can't stay away from Epcot for long, so that's where we ended up! :cool1:

All of the Food and Wine stuff in the front was gone and replaced by...Christmas decorations!

So cute! They always decorate Epcot so nicely for Christmas! I mean, the Magic Kingdom is amazing, but Epcot is almost as nice!

I checked the wait time for Soarin, which was insane, so I checked the return time for FP's...I think the wait time was between 5 and 6. That was a perfect return time, because we were coming back to Epcot later for dinner, so I decided we should go grab some. Except Brandon didn't want to, he was too tired. So I told him to give me his ticket and I'd go get them. So I went over to the Land, grabbed FP's for later, which had a later return time by like, 20 minutes from when I checked the first time and when I walked over there. I was kind of speed walking, so by the time I made it back to Brandon, I felt like I was going to die and needed a drink!

We went directly to Club Cool, where I drank about 8 cups of Fanta, which was my favorite soda there, but I guess they have gotten all new flavors? I hope they have something just as good because that flavor (I wish I could remember which country it was from, but it was Fanta, and it was pink!) was SO good, I always left wishing I could buy a huge bottle of to take home!

Once I felt better after drinking all of that delicious Fanta, we went back ouside, and decided since we had so much time before our ADR, we should do another Agent P mission! Off to the World Showcase!

We decided to do the UK mission this time, which was fun, but there were SO many people doing it at the same time, you had to wait for each person to do what they had to do, and if you watched, you kind of ruined it for yourself. So we did a lot of waiting around in England.

We finished our mission and we had to head back to Future World for our lunch ADR...Future World, any guesses as to where we're going?

Coral Reef! I was so excited to finally go here, I've wanted to try it for years, but it's one of those ADR's that I always booked and then canceled!

We checked in and waited a few minutes, and then we were seated. I was hoping for a good table, one where we could see the aquarium and we were at a table right next to it! It was amazing!

It's such a pretty restaurant! I love how you really feel like you're under the ocean, it's themed really beautifully!

Brandon of course had to get an appetizer, because there is so much seafood on the menu, and he's obsessed with seafood so he couldn't decide between anything! He got some weird seafood stew for his appetizer which looked gross to me but he liked I guess!

For lunch, I got the New York Strip

and Brandon got the lobster pasta, which I guess I didn't get a picture of! :confused3 My steak was good, not great, but pretty good! I guess I'm just a snob because I compare everything to Le Cellier!

I don't think Brandon was that impressed with his pasta, I don't remember why. I don't think he disliked it, I think he just had really high expectations!

So it's really nice to sit right next to the aquarium, right? It's beautiful and it's cool seeing all the fishies...it's even cool to see this guy swim around

(A scuba diver, in case you can't really see him!)

So he swims around, entertains people, blows bubbles and everything...then he comes over to our table...and stares at us. I laughed uncomfortably and looked away, and of course, Brandon joked around with him...as much as you can through glass anyway. As he's doing this, our food happened to come out, so the scuba guy gets comfortable, puts his head on his hands, like he's laying down in front of a tv, and watches us eat. It was awful! Brandon didn't care, he thought it was funny, but I HATE having someone just stare at me while I'm eating so it made me very uncomfortable. And of course, other tables saw what he was doing and watched too...ugh, just not my kind of thing! I'm sure anyone else would love it, but I cannot deal with being the center of attention! :rotfl2: Luckily after a few minutes he swam away and I could eat in peace, but let me tell you, those minutes felt like years!

Anyway, since we were on the dining plan, we decided to get dessert! Brandon decided to get creme brulee

and I had to go for the famous Chocolate Wave

Oh my God, this dessert is SOOOOOO good! The cake has this warm lava center, and the raspberry sorbet goes with it perfectly! It's probably one of the best Disney desserts I've ever had, I finished the whole thing and wished there was more, that's how good it was!

We finished eating dessert, and by then, it was around 3:00, so we decided to go back to POR for a little while. I was hoping we would make it back to Epcot later in time to use that Soarin FP that I almost killed myself getting (haha, not really, but that's a LONG walk when you're in a hurry you know?:rotfl:). Hopefully we'd make it back in time to go on my beloved Soarin', have one last Disney dinner and just have an amazing last night in my favorite park! :cloud9:

Up next...our last night in my favorite park!

I CAN NOT WAIT to be in WDW when it's all decorated for the holidays! I'm really glad I got the 64GB on my new iPhone as I think I will be taking a ton of pictures! And I have decided on using JUST my iPhone for pictures.. we will see how that turns our :rotfl2:

You can kind of see Brandon's Pasta in the picture with your steak! :lmao:

Pretty awkward of the scuba diver to sit there watching you eat. I think I would have just sat there and stared at him or motioned for him to come have some lol.

I need to go when they have Christmas decorations out!!

We love Coral Reef!!!!! Always go! Good always good, but sometimes service is sub part. Doesn't stop us going though LoL

How funny the scuba diver!!
Did you see the ginormous turtle?!

I fell in love with Coral Reef on my last trip, but I agree with you on the food. The steak is pretty basic, in my opinion. You can get a better one at Kona, which seems a little backwards. You'd think at a park like Epcot they'd have good steaks everywhere. :confused3
And Alex ordered the lobster macaroni, and he said by the end of the dish it was just too fishy tasting. Guess we all just have similar tastes. :rotfl:

But that Chocolate Wave.....Isn't it amazing??? My mom said the Bailey's and Jack Daniel's Moussee was excellent, but I don't think I could ever NOT order the wave. It's too great to pass up.

We were out of town and I fell behind again...sorry.

I love the picture of you and your hubby with Donald and Daisy. You are at Disney...you are allowed to look a little silly there.

I can't believe you didn't ride TOT. Nice score on TSM...I've yet to get that high.

Great pictures at Epcot...they do decorate it beautifully, but then all the parks are done well.

I've never had the steak at Coral Reef. But then I won't order steak anywhere at Disney after having it at Yachtsman...no one can live up to it.

Isn't that Chocolate Wave to die for? Oh I could go for a piece right now.

Our trips are fast approaching.

I sure hope you do a TR for your next trip! Just make sure to do some unique, exciting things if you want to justify it. :rotfl: I'll read it either way, though.

You do need to go to Star Wars Weekends someday! It'll be something so different that you'll forget you're missing the holidays and food & wine.

That is weird that you skipped Tower of Terror. :confused3

I've never been to Coral Reef, but I'd love to try that dessert someday! Yum! That would be pretty awkward to have the scuba diver watching you, though.

All of the Little Mermaid details were amazing, but my favorite part of the whole room was definitely the shower!

P1000051.jpg

P1000052.jpg

How cute is that!! If I won Powerball last night, I would definitely have had someone turn the shower in my house into that! And bought a giant DVC contract, of course. Didn't win, though, so I guess it's still boring blue tiles in the shower for me and back to dreaming of DVC! (Yet!) :rotfl:

So your husband may not like me to much after this (but they didn't tag me with the title of the evil queen at work for nothing so...) if you ever truly get the idea you want to really do your bathroom like a certain mermaid's grotto http://www.tileartisans.com/custom-bathroom-tile/ you may find it's much more affordable than you think ;)

Hahaha oh Coral Reef. I went there on my first trip (I'll give you two guesses as to why, as it ain't because I like seafood haha) and it's the coolest place ever but the food was only alright with us too! The dessert IS delicious though!

I know, I'm so excited! Ahh I wish I got the more expensive Iphone, because I have NO ROOM! Which means I'm going to have to delete almost all of my music so I have room for pictures in Disney, I'm planning on Instagramming a LOT! :rotfl2:

Haha I thought that too! :thumbsup2

Yeah I didn't like it...I mean, I guess it's funny but maybe for like 20 seconds, then go away!

I need to go when they have Christmas decorations out!!

We love Coral Reef!!!!! Always go! Good always good, but sometimes service is sub part. Doesn't stop us going though LoL

Did you see the ginormous turtle?!

You do! It's the best time to go! :thumbsup2

Yeah I liked Coral Reef, we had a great table and our service was pretty good! I'd go back, but it's not a top priority or anything!

I'm not sure, I can't remember what we actually saw because that scuba diver freaked me out! :rotfl:

Haha, I can't remember what Brandon said about the lobster pasta, but I just don't think he was that impressed with it! He's really picky, though, he expects a LOT from Disney restaurants! :confused3

OMG the Chocolate Wave is the BEST! I'd go back just for that! :upsidedow

Haha, don't apologize, I'm so behind on everyone's TR's, it's ridiculous! :faint:

I know, it's so weird that I didn't ride ToT! And that I didn't write down WHY I didn't ride ToT...hmmm...

I have yet to try Yachtsman...I want to, but I can never fit it in. I'd like to go on this trip, but since it's so short, I don't want to have a ton of ADR's, so I'm trying to only have 2...if I have time though, I would love to go there!

The Chocolate Wave is amazing! :cheer2:

I know, I really want to do SWW! It looks like so much fun! I'm going to TRY to go this year but we'll see how that turns out, haha!

The dessert was the best part of lunch, it was SO good! And it's so pretty in there, it's worth it to at least give it a try! :thumbsup2

Oooh, I'll definitely look into that mermaid bathroom, thanks! :cool1:

Yeah Coral Reef is one of those places that I read tons of reviews of, and people always said it was terrible, but when you read TR's and talk to actual people about it, people love it! So I had to try it for myself. It's good, but it's not my favorite! It's really pretty though! :thumbsup2

All Good Things...

Friday, 11/16

Hi everyone! So I'm down to my last trip update, finally! I might have to break it up into 2 updates, but I'm definitely finishing up the trip portion tonight! But STAY TUNED because I'm going to do a PTR update for my upcoming trip and I'm also going to do a wrap up. Can you believe I started this TR a year ago??? Crazy!

Moving on! We had just left Epcot to rest a little before...going back to Epcot! What can I say, it's my favorite park, Brandon's too, and we like to end our trips there! :thumbsup2 So it was a quick nap and then back in the car and off to Epcot!

On our way there, I snapped this picture because the sunset looked amazing:

I can't wait to move there someday and see amazing Florida sunsets like that every night of my life! I mean, we can get some nice ones here in CT, but nothing compared to the ones in Florida!

I was hurrying Brandon, making him walk really fast so we could use our Soarin' FP's but sadly, if we wanted to make it to our dinner ADR's, Soarin' just couldn't happen. It was sad, but instead of throwing them away, we decided to give them to people instead...I think we actually heard a family talking about going on Soarin' and getting FP's so we gave them to that family, and they were really grateful. :thumbsup2

We walked through the World Showcase, and I had to make a quick stop in Canada...I don't know if you guys remember all the way back to the first night, but I bought these adorable pajama pants with moose on them...well, they were like 10 feet too long for me, so I decided to return them. I hate that if you don't buy like, a small or a medium if you are a girl, they assume you are a giant. :sad2:

Once I returned my pants, we left Canada and arrived in France, our dinner destination for the night!

We checked into Les Chefs de France a little early, so we had a bit of a wait before we went in, so I just wandered around France and took pictures. It's so beautiful, especially at night!

Finally, we were called and we went in...and were seated at the worst table in the entire restaurant. You know how you go in and go to the left, and there's a row of tables by the window, and then across from there, there's a row of tables in what seems like just the middle of a walkway, and they are the tiny 2 person tables? That's where we were. Which would have been fine, except there was a table next to us with a family who didn't really seem to care that we were next to them, because they had no concept of personal space. Whatever. I actually just deleted 2 paragraphs about this encounter because it was just me complaining about these people. They were awful, we'll leave it at that. :sad2:

So even though we were at this tiny table and basically sitting with other people, I was excited to be eating here again. The only other time we tried to eat here was the year before, when I had the world's most awful migraine and couldn't enjoy anything.

I think Brandon and I both ordered off of the prix fixe menu, which I think it so great because you get an appetizer that way! :thumbsup2 So we both ended up eating the same thing:

French onion soup

Macaroni and cheese

And creme brulee!

Everything was really good! I loved the onion soup and mac and cheese, and the creme brulee would have been awesome, but I thought the top was just a little too burnt for my taste. Other than that though, awesome! I'd love to go back there, but I'd probably ask for a different table next time, I just don't like eating when I feel like people are sitting on top of me!

Once we were finished, we just wanted to wander around the World Showcase, which is one of my favorite things to do at night!

We stopped in Morocco for a little while

And then moved on to Japan, where as usual, Brandon ruined my picture :rotfl:

I love browsing in Japan, they have the cutest, most random things!

Finally it was time to find a spot for Illuminations...my feet were killing me and I just wanted to sit, so I found a spot right up near the fence in front of the American pavilion and sat down. No one was there at first, except a guy with a tripod and a camera, looking for a place to take pictures, but once people saw us there, they all came and sat down too!

I was watching the guy with the professional camera take pictures before Illuminations started so I decided to also...except I'm sure his are much better!

Finally it was time for my beloved Illuminations to start! :thumbsup2 I can barely make it through the pre-Illuminations dance party music without crying, but once the actual Illuminations music starts forget it, tears everywhere!

Ahh I went over my image limit!!! Time to start the next post, hold on...keep reading!

...Must Come to an End :)

Friday 11/16

More Illuminations pics!

It seriously never gets old, Illuminations is SUCH a great way to end a night! Usually you have to drag yourself out, and you know, if you watch from the back of the World Showcase and have to walk to your car, that is a LONG walk...but luckily it was magic hours time!!! So we didn't have to leave!

Up next on our World Showcase tour was Germany, which always looks amazing for the holidays...they really go all out for Christmas!

Up next after Germany was Norway, which also looks beautiful, all lit up for Christmas!

I had to go on Maelstrom one last time, and luckily the line wasn't bad at all, and before we knew it, we were in the front of a boat, ready to experience the spirit of Norway!

I love it! Definitely one of my favorite Disney rides!

I am not sure if we stopped in Mexico, but I don't have any notes or pictures so I'm guessing we didn't. Which is weird. I must have been exhausted or something, because usually during Epcot magic hours, on our last night, I try to milk every second there that I can!

But next we went to the Fountain of Nations, which we watched for a little while! This Fountain is probably one of my favorite things in Epcot, I could stare at it for hours!

We strolled around Mouse Gear for a little while, I'm not sure if I bought anything or not, I'm guessing I did, because I can't go in that store without buying something! :rotfl: And after we left, we had one last thing to do in Epcot...

Ride Spaceship Earth, of course! Can't leave Epcot without going on Spaceship Earth one more time!

Sadly, once the ride was over, we were ready to go. We were both so tired from 10 days of running around Disney and just knowing we were going home the next morning was finally catching up to us. My poor feet couldn't handle anymore walking, and we still had to pack. I think it was pretty close to the end of magic hours anyway, it might not seem like we did much, but we took our time strolling around!

I had to take a few goodbye pictures of my beautiful Epcot, looking so pretty for Christmas before we left!

And then...it really was time to go.

Leaving the last Disney park of the trip is always hard for me, so I just have to march myself out and try not to look back. I'm always afraid I might throw myself on the ground, stomping and crying, refusing to leave, and that would be embarrassing, so to avoid that, I just go. :(

We got in the car and went back to Port Orleans, packed, and went to bed.

Saturday, 11/17

We had to get up really early to get to the airport and catch our flight home. I don't remember what time we left POR, but I do remember wanting to get a picture as we were leaving and here's what I got:

Nice, blurry, going down the stairs, carrying too much luggage shot! But you can see how dark it is, so it must have been like 4 am or something crazy like that. I like to leave super early for the airport, I can't help it! :rolleyes1

We got to the airport and did our normal airport things, returned the car, checked our luggage, waited in the insane security line, grabbed something to eat and then went to our gate and hung out until it was time to go. :(

I don't remember anything about our flight, so I'm guessing it was ok! I usually only make notes of flights when there's turbulence or annoying people, so I guess it was nice and smooth and we were home before we knew it!

Neither one of us are ever happy to be back in CT, it's always gloomy and cold and depressing and we always seem to hit traffic on the way home...this trip kind of solidified that we want to get out of CT. And that we want to be in Florida. Well, I do. Brandon doesn't care where we go, as long as we get out of CT, I'm lucky he's so agreeable! :rotfl: So we were going to try to make that happen in the next year or so, but then 2013 happened and it was the worst year ever, soooo plans got pushed back a little! But we'll get down there someday, I have faith! :thumbsup2

Thank you for reading along, this is FINALLY the end! Well, of the actual trip anyway! Don't forget, I'm going to do a little PTR update for my upcoming trip and also do a wrap up of this trip, and then this TR will finally really be finished! Thanks again for sticking with me!

Up next...PTR update and Trip Wrap Up!

Great updates, Jen.

I agree with you...Florida has the best sunsets ever!

World Showcase at night is simply stunning. And France truly is a beautiful pavillion. I'm sorry about the "rude" tablemates. I remember seeing those tables when we went the last two times and thinking to myself "please don't seat us there." We've never done dinner, only lunch at Chefs.

You got some beautiful pictures around World Showcase.
