Okay, breathe.

Not the end of the world that it's a debit card.

Did the company give you your application numbers yet? You will need these to log into them on the official website. You can use these numbers to check if the ESTAs are there. You may need to give them some time as they will obviously not process your details immediately - they probably have other applications on the pile too.

If for any reason you don't hear back from them within 48 hours, you may have grounds to query whether the service for which you paid has been delivered. I dont think all these companies are bogus, but the info you gave them is the same as you would have put into the form yourself and they charge you for doing it. Like the check and send service for passports at the Post Office (which I used and it was great).

Hey Iv already raided DD sweet tin and had 3 milkyways and a snickers.Got a bag of jellybabies as well and some scratchings. Phoned the bank cant stop it and as they are not a fraudulent site and just offering assisted service. What a plonker:happytv: I really do hope August will be better as July has been horrendous.you live and learn. At least DD will be free:thumbsup2

At least you know they are a legitimate site so your details are safe. That would have been my primary concern.

Well Crabbie, looking at this thread there are a lot of people who seem to care about you. ;)

Good for you! I think those sites a just a disgrace. It is also immoral that they come up first on a search engine. Imagine how many people are getting conned!!

I know guys and thanks for the concern. After my rant about people getting free upgrades when I was asked to pay I thought Id better keep my head down but I have had several PM's from people who feel the same but didnt want to post.
Anyw:rotfl:ay my names alyson-I dont have a shell and sharp claws:rotfl2: not yet anyway

I had to do ESTA's for 3 people at work yesterday and the first link I clicked on was the one wanting to charge £25 a time. I very nearly got done because it was a very 'official' looking site but then I remembered that the charge wasn't supposed to come in until later in the year so I went back and had another look.

I agree - something really needs to be done about these scammers!

It never occurred to me. :goodvibes

I just think you've had a rough time. The thing with holidays like this is they are really expensive and so much time, thought and planning goes into them. When one thing goes wrong it feels like a huge deal. Okay sometimes it actually is. But the point is, everything else after that feels larger than life too. It's just a case of breaking the cycle. I hope you get a good rest tonight. You must be knackered after all this lot today. (As long as all that sugar doesn't keep you awake ;)).

I'm sorry to hear that you got caught. The reason I did my thread in the first place was because of how many people we were hearing about going on these sites that are set up deliberately to prey on peoples fears and lack of knowledge. (Sorry - it gets me a bit wound up )

Hopefully plenty of people will read this thread and learn from it - which is small consolation for Crabbie but I am trying to glean a positive from this.

As a sub note Crabbie I noticed that you had put a comment about people PM'ing you saying that they had the same opinion as you but didn't want to post (with regards to the upgrades thread)
I would like to say to everyone that we welcome everyones opinions on all subjects, and encourage healthy debate and exchange of ideas. :thumbsup2
It's true that not everyone will always agree on everything that is said, but the good natured way that people in the UK section put their point across normally results in an informative forum for all. :goodvibes

I'm taking my 2006 Pop Century mug to Saratoga Springs and not buying a ticket for my 3 year old. Oh and we are going pool hopping. :D

Seriously Crabbie when you arrive in Florida in September you will forget all about the bad luck of late. :)

I feel a bit better after reading your post Kenny. When I read about the PM's I was a bit concerned that I should have done the same instead of posting all over the thread. (I also get a bit wound up about these things).

The point is though, this is a relatively small board and therefore it's quite easy to get to know the people on here and you do build a kind of relationship with each other. It's hard not to regard them as any less than any of your other friends. Come on, I can't be the only one who feels that way:goodvibes

Not at all - even more so since attending my first Dis meet last weekend. :goodvibes

If I ever need to remind myself just how good this board is for maintaining healthy and informative discussion - without it descending into chaos and name calling - I just have a look around some of the other forums out there.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that they are bad. Just that ours is exceptionally good :worship:

Couldn't agree more! :thumbsup2

Now to end the night on a humorous note, have a laugh at me:

First of all, I somehow, don't ask, managed to swallow a crown today. Yep, a nice gold one that cost a fortune in the days when I could afford private dentistry. I guess the NHS isn't going to replace like with like :lmao:

I was then delighted to come home and discover that the Minnie Mouse baseball cap I bid on several days ago (at 99p plus £1.50 postage) had no other bidders so it's mine. I happily processed the payment only to discover that my FairFX card seems to have become the default card on PayPal :confused3 so my happy shopping this weekend has come out of my FairFX :rotfl: Not the end of the world as it wasnt a huge amount of money altogether, but anyway, hopefully that made someone smile.

Sweet dreams everyone. Tomorrow's a new day! :)

Made me smile! I have done this too - used a Citibank $ account to pay for something in £, probably making it twice as expensive. Never mind!

Crabbie - just focus on what a fabulous holiday you will have, and try to forget the rest (oh, and eat more chocolate, definitely helps) :goodvibes

Guys tried all links and site still says £25 charge.Yes I have paid for mine will wait for DD as have to wait upto 72 hrs for approval. When my friend did hers they told her there and then.I think guys they are in the process of updating the sites. This is the onlyone I could access.
