No Buy June

Disneyorvegas - there is no budgeting for sick or injured menfolk. They seem to turn instantly to 3 years old and need lots of coddling.

Kickapoo Joie - can you benefit from the changes to cobra this spring for the newly unemployed that the new president got put through?

Sigh. Ok, so we had our car in the garage last month. $1000 later, we had new brakes and a bunch of other stuff. Our timing belt replacement is overdue but we were told no biggie, bring it in in a few weeks. Our appointment for the minivan is today.... funny squeeling noise and with the warranty expiring on July 4th, I didn't want to take chances. Well DH comes home yesterday saying the car really isn't working... engine light is on and its not changing gears well. :mad:We had a Honda that lasted us 12 years... I figured the Mazda wouldn't be that different but its only 6 years old and already, causing us grief. A new car was not in the plans. I'm so ticked off!:mad::mad:

LOL We're actually in Canada but I hear you. My folks live in one of the island provinces in Canada (Newfoundland) and they're amazed at the km on our vehicles.

Well, the Mazda made it to the garage this morning... barely. Holy cow what a terrible ride. We bucked all the way there ... when it wasn't stalling. Turns out its a EGR valve... whatever that is.. Bottom line, $350 ... which actually is good considering what I was expecting. I thnk we'll hold off paying another $400 for the timing belt though
