This is our first Toyota. Well, I had access to them as company cars in the 1970s and while they never needed repairs, Toyotas of that era were pretty basic cars. I had use of a 1974 Corolla, no carpet, fiberboard door panels. Later I drove a couple 1977 SR5 Pickups that were basically tin cans. And I worked at a Budget Rent A Car franchise in 1979 and we had 1979 Corollas, the basic model that I don't think most dealers even ordered, they always ordered the next model up which I think was the DX. No carpet. Cardboard door panels, the brake master cylinder was plastic, first time I had seen that but it common now. They were automatics and had ac but customers found the ac controls confusing. More than one customer brought the car back saying the AC was broken, so I just got in the habit of showing a customer how the ac worked when they first rented the car. Never thought because of all of this that I would ever own one.
That is what I assumed. So it doesn't matter what I say or don't.
