In fact we could have done with a couple more. My kids are 2,4 and 6 so we took most days slow, going early, back to the hotel then back to the parks late afternoon. A couple of days we did open - close, but hours were short during the week so it was still only ten hours. We took things slow, but had a plan for most days too, trying to minimize wait times. We did just about every single thing in the parks, including the live acts (Billie Hill, Dapper Dans etc) as well as riding the Lilly Belle and i did the Walk in Wakts Footsteps tour too, which we've never made time for in the past. We visited all our fave attractions a few times, hitting up RSR every day we were in DCA. We had to make use of Parent Swap quite a bit, which forced us to slow down too, but worked very well. The only thing I think we would have done different, would be to have a no parks day after day four or five. I know it's common to do this at WDW, but we didn't think we'd need it at DL, which in hindsight would have helped energy and patience levels.
So if any of you Aussies or Kiwis are trying to decide whether a ten day ticket is too much, I'd go ahead and get it. It allows a lot more freedom
