There is more for DHS that has not been announced. The plot that LMA sits on is not likely going to used for toy story or Star Wars so....

Yeah, while no-one has said anything officially, it's pretty clear that DHS future is that of a park with immersive themed "lands" representing very specific topics, a la Islands of Adventure. With two "lands" announced (Star Wars and Toy Story) there are likely to be at least a couple more. My guess is they haven't even made an official decision, and are probably mulling over a few ideas. They will want to be cautious, because to build a entire land based on a property that they are not sure of the lifetime of it is dangerous. Toy Story and Star Wars are pretty safe. Can't imagine they are not thinking of a princess land as an option...one that begins with Aren and ends in dale, however they may be concerned about the long-term popularity of Frozen, and with a ride in another park already that might be too much to take. Pixie Hollow or Bugs Life would allow them to incorporate HISTK playground. They probably can't decide if they want to do a Carsland or not, only because do they want one on each coast when they will already have a Star Wars land on each coast. Guardians of the Galaxy is marvel IP they can use, but it's too much like Star Wars to put it in the same park.

As I ponder this - I think about an "Incredibles" land. Take the Streets of America and turn it into Metroville. Basically have superheroes without having to use Marvel.

If you wanted to come up with a shortlist I imagine you could probably just look at Disney Properties that:

1) Sell lots of merchandise
2) Have shown longevity
3) Aren't already clearly based elsewhere in the parks (like Pirates is)

I'd say that puts Cars at the top of the list. Major merchandising winner, 2 movies already and a third to come, not currently very active at WDW and they have a pre-designed land to work from.

Exactly. LMA is still in that behind the scenes type aspect of DHS. Cars and monsters inc are the two IPs I've seen thrown around. I don't know if they would do frozen with it being in Epcot. They basically already has pixie hollow drew up for fantasyland but even then that popularity has gone down hence why there haven't been any new pixie movies within the last couple months. Pixar seems like a safe bet here.

Oh My God! They are closing TWO things and replacing them with ONE. They are worse than Disney! How does anyone stand going there!!!

You also forgot to complain that Disaster is a staple of your visits to Universal, and without it well it isn't even worth visiting anymore. And the Graveyard Revue was the only show worth watching in all of Universal.

You then forgot to tell us that Universal was designed to be based on certain types of movie properties, and for whatever reason Fast & Furious does not fit the profile and it has no business being in that park. It desecrates the entire meaning that Universal was founded upon.

And something about Universal used to be educational, but now it's just fantasy. Something like that too.

Late 2017 Toy story land before end of fiscal year.

2019 SW soft open in summer but something else is expected to take another year and open in summer 2020.

Opening in 2020-21 the unannounced...

Thats sounds perfect and about right if all is to go to plan.

By the time D23 is on come 2017 Toy Story land will be nearing completion, Star Wars Land development will have started which makes me think that they will then announce in 2017 more lands and rides to go in the LMA / Streets of America Area and probably announce a new park name then
