News Round Up 2016

No. Source?

Shoot, I can't remember which thread I was reading (possibly the Rivers of Light watch thread?) but the person said it had been posted on David's DVC Facebook page. When I went there, the post just says they're hearing it will take "a little longer" than the currently planned May opening. The post also mentioned the fire in September 2015, so perhaps the person who shared the tidbit saw "September" and thought that was talking about the potential new opening date.

Every trip I go to many countries around the world, take a safari in Africa, ride a boat down the worlds largest rivers (they go on for niles and niles), escape to far away planets, and even spend some time in historical places like the old Wild West or the Caribbean with pirates. We usually end our trips with some time in a fanciful medieval era.

We are very well rounded Americans thank you very much! :D

I was speaking generally and not personally. Residents of the USA versus other countries in the world tend to have the least international experience. I've been to Disney WAY more than I have been out of the country, so I'm certainly part of that number.

We would all be better off if we engaged in more international travel. Of course we'd all be better off if we could afford international travel too...

In regards to Frozen Ever After, I have heard whispers of the ride having delays, but no solid source. However, granted this is delays for more a Summer opening as oppose to a Spring opening. The construction does look to be slow especially on the meet and greets, which I imagine they would ideally like to open it all at once. Again, no substance just small talk with cast members from my last trip in February. I would be shocked if it takes to the Fall to open the ride.

It wasn't me either but I feel that way with RRC and Everest. RRC my head rattles too much and the speakers behind my ears throw everything off for me, so I get off feeling like crap every time. Everest is weird, there are sometimes I feel great and others not so much. Again, the head rattling. I really don't enjoy the going backwards part. That said, sometimes the wife will convince me to go on, others, not so much.

Well, wouldn't they use the Frozen ride to promote the summer season at WDW if the ride was opening soon? The stuff they've been airing during the winter season is mostly focused on Star Wars, so that sounds to me like they are not ready to open Frozen for the summer season. That may not sound really significant, but it's definitely a factor to consider.

As a matter of fact I have never ridden Splash Mountain. Almost did it on the last trip but I was already feeling queasy from trying 7DMT so I skipped.
Other than the one drop there isn't much to the ride it's basically pirates the rest of the time.

I have a friend that I travel with frequently who is "afraid" of coaster type rides. She was afraid of Splash too, until she rode it the first time. Finally, after she rode 7DMT - (not sure why she wanted to do this one, but she suggested it and she loved it) - I convinced her to go on Big Thunder, and again, she LOVED it. Now we are working on her keeping her eyes open, (no wonder she gets queasy on Soarin', !!), and letting go of the death grip she has on the handle. I could NEVER get her on RNRC, or probably Space Mountain, and I don't even try. But she's finding that some of her "fear" was more from what others had told her, and never materialized when she finally tried it. We're getting there!
