Hello! This will be our first time staying at the Boardwalk Inn. We'd like to be on the side closer to the Boardwalk walkway to Epcot. What "room request area" would I ask for (knowing it is subject to availability)? Thank you so much in advance!

May I ask why you want to be close to Epcot? Is it in the hopes of seeing fireworks? It won’t work as far as reducing walking distance to the park as there is no exterior entrance at the end of the building that would connect to the Epcot walkway. To exit the building you would have to walk back to the center near the lobby.

Oh!!! We had heard that the hallways are long and we were thinking there might be a better area to request but seeing the fireworks would be a bonus. We do have a waterview room booked. Are there rooms above the general store area? It might not even be an issue since it seems we'd have to walk back to the center to exit.

Any advice you have is welcome. I should say we stayed in the villa section many years ago and I'm just remembering a very long hallway walk. Perhaps in the Inn section-it won't be as long. Although, steps at Disney will add up anyways. LOL! Thank you so much.

No the rooms over the Screen Door store are DVC units.

Since you have a water view there are not really many options. Also the BWI only has about 370 Guest rooms total, and the main exit is at the Boardwalk Green, the center of the resort overlooking the boardwalk area.

Here is a view from Google Earth of the BW (villas on the left, inn on the right). As you can see, the Inn side is a little smaller footprint than the Villa side, so the hallways aren’t quite as bad. You don’t get much of a fireworks view from the Inn side because of the curve of the building (the Villas side is much better in that respect). As far as seeing the lake and Boardwalk itself, any of the Inn rooms facing that direction will have a decent view. We usually request to be close to the lobby/elevators since that is the main access point to get outside.
