"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

Your daughter is ADORABLE! People are crazy; she by no means looks 'big' or 'chunky' to me.... I think people have warped ideas of what size babies are suppose to be. She looks perfect to me!

thanks :goodvibes
Just had to share my excitement! I just got the confirmation email from member's services that we are confirmed at Tree House Villas for Brynn's first trip in May! Now I only have 10 months to obsessively plan the trip! :rotfl:

That is so cool!!!!! I would love to stay there. Congratulations! We want to take Carys to Disney for her 4th birthday and I am already thinking about where to take her to eat and what rides I think she will like :lmao:

I think she looks completely normal and totally adorable. I think the "big" thing is just something people say. It's part of our baby talk culture...just like "How is she sleeping?" "When are you due?" "holy crap, you're huge!" :lmao:
so true!!! people seem to want to know everything about you or give their 2 cents worth.

I don't think she looks big or chunky at all.
Everyone keeps telling me how small or little DS looks.
This is him at 4 months.

I had to take one of my cats to the vet today and was met with the challenge of carrying the cat carrier and the car seat. My cat weighs as much as Carys!! Though I enjoy that the people standing around offered to get the door for me... oh wait, that didn't happen.

I got asked twice if Carys was a boy or a girl. What, the onesie with the flowers and butterflies didn't give it away? and if one more person tells me how "big" she is I might freak out! She actually was called chunky today and then the lady proceeded to grab her thighs and give them a squeeze and her cheeks too! So my question is, how big were your babies at 4 1/2 or 5 months? Here is a pic I took a couple days ago of Carys... does she look freakishly abnormal or something? :lmao:

PATSY!!! YAY! :wave2:

OMG Lauren! The Tree House Villas?! I must hear all about it when you get back! So cool!

I was just thinking -- hey it's Patsy!! :goodvibes How are you feeling? You must be getting so close. 34 weeks, wow.:thumbsup2

This pregnancy has been tougher on me, for sure! Owen is breech and switches between that and transverse which is tons of fun and super comfortable!!
He's in the upper 90th percentile for size (measured 6lbs5oz @ 33wks, then the obvious +/- a lb. and Lucas was short a pound so I'm going to add for Owen too...)
I've been in and out of L&D more times than I count- got admitted once because I actually went into labor from being dehydrated. I think that was around 27 weeks but I only dilated to just past 1 so not too bad.

I have too much amniotic fluid so now have to have regular ultrasounds to monitor that (get to go again Monday for one) though I'm not sure why because I didn't ask. I don't know if shes just waiting to see if it keeps building up and then does something or what.

I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead so my OB is concerned about that, another reason she is sending me for regular ultrasounds.

I'm scheduled for a RCS August 26th but no one thinks I'll make it. I'm just hoping I get Owen's room done before then.

I've been canning applesauce this week. My parents apple tree got knocked over in a storm so a friend and I have been canning all week before the fruit goes bad. I don't recommend canning anything 8 months pregnant in July. lol.

OMG I remember the heat from canning with my grandma back in the day! But it'll be nice to have a nice stash of applesauce!

Sounds like you've got another healthy boy on your hands Patsy. And if I didn't tell you before, I love his name!

I hope everything turns out perfect!

Wow Patsy... Only 5 weeks to go? That went fast!

We took the kids hiking on Saturday... It was a 5 mile hike on Mt. Rainier.. Which is the highest mountain we have. I think it is one of the highest in the country... Anyways.. We went 2.5 miles straight up, and 2.5 straight down. It was a killer! We had the babies on our backs, and they are HEAVY! I didnt think I was going to make it. But I DID!! I am NOT a small lady, and I am not in any kind of shape for that kind of hiking.. I think my husband might be slowly trying to kill me. :lmao: But the babies just LOVED it. 7 hours of them on our backs, and they just giggled, and had a great time the whole way!

I got tired carrying Princess Wigglypants through Leeds Castle. I can't imagine carrying her up (and down) a mountain.

It was intense.. Jasmine is the smallest of the two, but neither of them are tiny. Both are in the 90th percentile for weight now.. Not bad for twinners born a month early. :lmao:My husband had sore shoulders for a few days.. But I had Jazz in a mei tai, and my shoulders, back and everything felt fine. Only my legs were killing me.

Little Elliott is 6 months old today!!! So now my older kids said we should have cake tonight, because it is his half birthday (hmmmm, way to angle to get some cake!).

I realized this weekend how low key Elliott is. We had our first open house this weekend (and had 4 families come through! Now we just need an offer!!), so needless to say, we were doing A LOT of cleaning (I don't think our house has ever been this clean!). He was content, for the most part, just to sit in his bouncy seat, or sit in his exersaucer, or roll around on the floor. I don't know how we would have done it if he were a needy baby!

I thought this weekend was when he was going to start crawling. He is thisclose to crawling!

:scared1: Wow! You go mama!

Ugh! How I wish Lily was low key. I see her around other kids her age and start to realize just how high needs she is. She mainly just wants my constant attention.

I'm SO glad we didn't have her party this weekend! It was 95 here Friday and Saturday and yesterday we had a graduation party, but it was luckily cooler. And she has a little cold too, so she's been even more clingy.

The good news is that I finally tried out my friend's Ergo and I LOVE it! So much better for us than the Beco for some reason. So now I have to get rid of the Beco and find an Ergo Sport for our trip in 3 weeks!! AHHHH! :woohoo:

I love my Ergo but Lilliana would rather be in a stroller or running around.

Happy Birthday Lily!!!:bday:

Hello all. Sounds like everyone is doing great:banana: My Aunt was in from out of town last week and Natalie was great with her. I was sooo relieved. She somethimes gets VERY SHY around other adults, but she took to my aunt very fast. They were outside playing alone within an hour. I am thinking of sending her to a Mothers Day Out program this fall. I'm going to visit it this week. I'm scared:scared1: I am very, very blessed that I get to stay home with her. I have had 2 people babysit her when she was under 3 months, but since then, she has only been left with my parents or my inlaws. She is 13 months now. I have a feeling it will be easy for her, but hard for me. I am only going to be leaving her from 9 - 12 once a week. I hope I can do it.

Go for it! You deserve some time and I really feel like kids get a lot of benefits from hanging out with someone new for a little while. And remember, if she does get upset, she'll be over it very quickly once your gone. Lily FREAKS when I leave, but within a minute or two, she's right back to playing.

We had an appointment with the cardiologist this afternoon. When Brynn was born they heard a murmur and did an eco at the hospital. It turned out that two ‘valves’ that normally close prior to, or just after birth, hadn’t closed up.

So today was our follow up to that. They did an EKG and an eco and I have to say, my little girl did AMAZING! The only time she cried was when they had to pull off the sticky tabs from the EKG. We met with the cardiologist and he was the kind of doctor you would want your child to have. He took over an hour with my husband and me explaining everything to us. Both valves are still open, one more than the other, but they have closed a bit. We will have to go back in December for another reading and see how they are then. The doctor told us that worst case scenario they will correct it sometime after her first birthday.

That’s all the excitement we had today.

That is great news. It does seem like the babies always do better at the doctor than the parents.

:hug::hug: While the news isn't the best you could've gotten, at least it sounds very positive and the experience wassn't too terrible. I'll keep your family in my thoughts! :wizard::wizard:

Ahhhh!! Our realtor called last night, we have a showing on our house this evening, for a couple that came through the open house on Sunday! Luckily, our house is still relatively clean from Sunday, so tonight we just have to rearrange a few things, wipe some things down, and sweep and vacuum. The only bad thing is the showing is at 8:30 tonight, which is when Elliott normally goes to bed. So we are going to go out to my parent's house, and he and Wyatt are just going to sleep overnight there (my parents are watching them both during the day on Thursday anyway). I hope, hope, HOPE this works! With Elliott getting mobile, the design of our current house just isn't working.
