"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

Woohoo!!!! Awesome news on the crawling?? How old is Sarah now??

And yippee for little boys!!! How has Cathy been feeling?
Sarah turned eight months this past Sunday.

This pregnancy is kinda kicking Cathy's butt. She's been nauseaus much more than last time and she is totally worn out from dealing with the princess all the time, plus this summer has been much hotter than last which is super draining.

Yeah it's been super quiet. I saw that Patsy's been over on the Moms to be thread...

Yeah for crawling & for little boys. I can only imagine having a baby to take care of while pg, I'm sure Cathy's beat.... you're helping where you can, right? (not so subtle hint.... lol)

Not much exciting here. Cruising babies. Since Disney was a no-go this year, we're planning on a Hersheypark excursion in August sometime. Anyone done it? Hints or tips?:goodvibes

Huh??? Isn't raising children "women's work"?

<just kidding>
I help out where I can but most of it still falls on Cathy.

Hi all :goodvibes It has been super quiet around here. It must be to hot to type. All is well here, Natalie is growing like a weed and will be 13 months next week. Does anyone have any tips on how to transition her to milk. We started milk at 12 month and she just doesn't care for it. It takes me all day to get 12 oz. down her. I have heated it, left it ice cold and at room temp. The most she has drank in a day is 16 oz. We are also trying to stop the whole binki thing. Tough one, she only uses it for naps and bedtime. I feel like my baby is no longer a "baby" :guilty:

Sarah, where did Patsy disappear off to?? I was just thinking about her the other day!

I did something to upset her and she stopped posting. I still have no idea what I did. She's posting like normal on FB and the new moms thread. She's still not my friend on FB, but since so many of you comment on her status's, I see them all the time. :confused3 It still hurts everytime I see something from her. :sad2:

I feel like I am telling the news to an empty room, but yesterday, Sarah crawled for the first time and we learned that she is going to have a little brother.

Yay! One of each and crawling! Very exciting.

I've heard that it can be stupid busy there. There are a bunch of threads around here if you do a search, but I've never been so I can't help.

We are just about to start milk, so I got nothing. I'm right there with you and the paci. She's actually started using it more the last month or so and I'm not happy about it. My DH tends to give it to her all the time, where I reserve it for sleepy times or if she's really cranky.

Not mush going on here. Lily is pretty close to walking and we're getting ready for her birthday party and the Disney trip. I'm dreading the drive so much! But can't wait for the trip.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, life got the best of us.

Few updates on us...Evan is almost 8 months old and is a crawling machine. He started crawling a few days after turning 6 months old and the very next day we found him standing up in his crib, so down to the lowest setting that went! He's attempting to walk now by moving along couches and furniture and his pack n play. I'm so not ready for that! Along with being an crawling machine he's also an eating machine! I'm making my own baby food and so far there isn't one thing he hasn't liked.

Jamie and I are no longer together, it has certainly taken some getting use to, but I have a lot of support from my friends and family so I think we'll do ok. He says he wants to be involved in Evan's life and as long as he wants to that's fine with me.

Last but not least! My family and I are officially going on the Podcast Cruise 2.0 in December and then to MVMCP for Evan's first time in the Magic Kingdom! Jamie has agreed to sign off on the passport for Evan. I'm so excited to take him and experience this with him. He'll almost be 13 months old when we go!

Hope everyone else is doing well! I'll try to post more often.

Kristen

Wow Kristen! That is a lot! :grouphug::grouphug:

So exiting about the cruise though! Maybe I can talk DH into one of those next year. lol

Well, I'm happy to post.. I took Brynn out all by myself for the first time yesterday and we both survived! :)
We went to visit with my friends at my old job which was kind of bitter-sweet because I won't be returning to work. After that we went to the pediatricians for her one month check-up. She did amazingly well, I was very proud of her. She weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces, is measuring 21 inches and her head is measuring 18 1/4. She is in the 50th percentile for her height and head measurement and the 25th for weight, which I was told is completely normal. I was also told that they couldn't hear the heart murmur that they heard a few days after she was born, which was nice. We still have a follow-up with the cardiologist at the end of the month, but it was nice to hear that everything seems good! The doctor told me that Brynn seems like a happy, healthy baby, which was nice to hear! :)

Anyone have any advice for plane trips? We will be traveling to visit my in-laws mid-August and I am starting to get nervous about the plane.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Let me know how the drive goes... I think you're in Cleveland right? So your drive would be about 4 hours more than ours. We're driving in December and Evan will be almost 13 months. I'd loved to hear tips as to what to bring.

How exiting. That first time was pretty scary!! Glad everything went well!

I'll have LOTS of details in my trip report when we get back and probably before we go!

What a great response! All the things SAHM or even working moms like me do sound sort of fun and relaxing (going to the park or pool or library) to someone without kids. You really can't understnd how completely exhasting a "relaxing day at the beach" lol can be with a little one.

Lauren

I flew with my first DS by myself when he was 2 and a half months old. It was as easy as could be. The only part where things got a little crazy was on the way home, when our flight was delayed 3 hours!! I was down to my last bottle, which he ate on the last leg of the flight. Other than that, everything was fine. He sat on my lap and slept the whole time on the plane, and we just walked around the airport in between flights. I got tons of compliments on his outfit. It was a Sunday in December, during NFL season, and he was all decked out in Packers gear!

Hello ladies!! And fella. ;) Have I missed anything uber exciting?? Nothing here. Just walking/running/talking twinners. Yes. I said it.. TALKING. Jasmine can say dog, no, go, mummy, daddy, Alex, and tickle. Vinny just says daaaaaaddddddddyyyyyy. Tickle. SERIOUSLY! SHe comes up to you, lifts her shirt, sticks out her tummy and says... TICKLE TICKLE TICKLE!!

Hey all!
Sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks! Life has been busy (isn't it funny how we long for summer but suddenly realize how busy it is?).
Good article, Valerie!
I hope all is good, Kristen! Yall will have a blast on the cruise!
Emma just turned six months and is seconds from crawling! We're encouraging her, but I know it's just another step before walking, which freaks me out!!
We sold our house! Within a matter of weeks! Which means we had to quickly get our new home picked out! We decided not to buy in the area I originally wanted since it was out of our price range, but we found another great area! We're set to close early next month, so I got some packing to do (which means I may not be on the boards very often :guilty: ). But I'll post pics soon of the house! It has a very cool pool!!
Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Amanda, our realtor just called us, the offer we put in on our perfect home was accepted....now we just have to sell ours!!!

Elliott will be crawling sooner rather than later. He has been up on all fours rocking for a few weeks. He tried picking up one of his hands last night and fell forward and laughed. Time to start really babyproofing now!

Staley! (I forget first names..... is it Megan?) My fellow twin mamma, where've ya been? :goodvibes You're supposed to hang around so I know what's coming with my two.....:scared1::laughing::laughing:

Want to vent here cause I know it is not my place to say anything as it is not my child to raise but my neighbor has what looks to be a 1 yr old and she is constantly blasting her music while the kid is in the car. I can hear the base and music even when she has the windows closed. That poor child is going to grow up with some hearing problems.:sad2:

OMG that is sooo cute!! Lily says mommy, daddy, hi and bye, but that's it so far. She does a lot of copying the words we say though, with like sounding baby babble. It's great to get an update!!

Congrats on the quick sale!!

Natalie is talking up a storm too. She says... Mom, Mommy, Dad, Daddy, doggie, kitty, hello, hi, yellow, Anna, bird, duck, no no no (so funny, she says it when she is doing something wrong) and we are working on Minnie. :thumbsup2

Hello ladies! I see some familiar "faces". Baby Sean was born 9 days ago and weighed in at about 9lbs. I've also got a DD who will be 8 in less than 2 weeks. You can guess that DS was a bit of a surprise!

Does anyone have any tips on how to transition her to milk.

When we transitioned DD (now 7 almost 8) we used vanilla soy milk at first. For some reason she hated whole milk too. Our pedi was fine with that.

Anyone have any advice for plane trips? We will be traveling to visit my in-laws mid-August and I am starting to get nervous about the plane.

Check with your pedi to see if you can give her benadryl and/or sudafed before take off. Also have her nurse or take a bottle at take off and landing. The biggest problem I think is that the pressure really hurts their ears and the sudafed and eating will help keep the pressure down.
