We have never been to Universal or Sea World before so we are considering staying at a Universal resort during our next trip. After reading about the rides ect it sounds as though it would be a great fit for my superhero loving DS (11).

So, which resort has the best pool? Are there pool slides like at the deluxe resorts on Disney property? Is there anything that compares to SAB at the Beach Club?

Thanks for any help!

the Hard Rock has the coolest feature in any resort pool in the world. underwater music. :D

but yes, all 3 resorts have exceptional water areas, slides included.

We have stayed at hardRock and Royal pacific... my daughter loved both pools.. HardRock has a slide and the music of course... but the Royal Pacfic has a cool play area with water cannons that the kids can shoot cold water at each other and any unsuspecting swimmers that get too close. :D

Here are a couple of pictures of the HRH and RPR pools taken from above - as you can see, both very nice pools (you can't see the slide in the pic of HRH pool - it is to the far right) - the water play area for RPR is the white boat at about 2 o'clock in the pic - but I don't think either quite compares to SAB !

I have a hard time picking my favorite, different days I like a different pool. The great thing is you can stay where you desire and pool hop. I agree with bjakmom, although the pools are terrific they dont quite compare to SAB, not sure many pools anywhere do.

Just back from a Orlando vacation and we discovered another excellent pool. Omni Resorts at Championgate opened in October after they picked up all the newly planted palm trees that were blown down by the hurricanes. They have a large heated formal pool and whirlpool and a large heated family pool with a water slide, water tower, water cannons and an 850 foot lazy river with tubes to float around on. The single best thing about it is this resort has not been discovered yet and there is nobody there. The resort has 2 Greg Norman designed golf courses that were virtually empty as well. TripAdvisor doesn't even have it listed yet. DS16 gave it 5* and "Orlando's Best" but later recanted with memories of a Christmas stay at WDW Poly.

On-site at USO.
RPR is the best place for a family volleyball game.
PBH is the quietest/least crowded. The hillside pool rarely gets visited.
HRH is the coolest for teens/pre-teens, the best place for a basketball game, the best slide, and the best bikinis! :smooth:
