Is there a meet planned? We did a meet on our Alaskan cruise last summer and it was nice to see familiar faces during the cruise. We met on Deck 10 around 2:30 or 3pm the first day. My DD liked meeting the other teenagers. I can't remember exactly where we met (near the midship elevator I think). We only hung out for 20-30 minutes--no big deal. It was just enough to say HI and put some faces with usernames. I guess we could also try the promenade lounge if that's open in port that day.

Captain and family! Great to have another family on for the cruise meet and FE Have you sailed the Magic before? I'm a first time cruiser but I'm already addicted. Maybe it's just my addictive personality!

Yes I have sailed on the Magic as a matter of fact it was our first Disney cruise in 2009 A 7 day to the Caribbean, Have been hooked ever since

I don't think a meet has been planned yet. I know on the Dream we tried but weren't successful with doing it on the first day. I think there was just to much to do. I wonder if the second day would be better. Anyone else have any thoughts or experience with having a successful meet?

Ok....I've started noting who wants to be in one group or both groups. For now we'll operate on the theory that we'll have two groups...If we get a lot of new members/participants in the next couple month, we can divide it into 3 groups. How does that sound?

Friends of the family are traveling with my group now. Jay, Kendra and Velveth (12).

Kendra had me add them to the FE list. Her disboards name is KSWare but I'm not sure if she'll get on and say hi or not.

Whoa! We will be in NYC 8 weeks from today and this thread is down on page 3 of Cruise Meets? We need to get it front and center where it belongs!

I was working on my FEs today. Looking at the Google Doc, we have 2 people to remove, Muhaha and the extra Brittwoman line? So we are still at 24 even with our most recent joiners - is that correct? Just tring to keep my count straight for now. Thanks!

As it gets closer, I have this almost surreal feeling that it's just a dream and the date will always seem closer and closer but never really arrive!

We will be arriving in the States 2 days before the cruise, so I'd better organize our packing so that the cruise suitcase(s) are separate! Just that some of my FE stuff is here, and some is waiting in NJ.

There are two parts to our "cruise meet group". One is just to be part of the group. We chat here online about things having to do with the cruise and sometimes things not really having to do with it! Hopefully we'll meet up on the ship as well. Besides that, you can decide to be part of the subgroup, the Fish Extender group. FE for short. A fish extender is a pocketed hanging thing that you buy/make/create to hang off the fish hook beside your stateroom door. All members of the group get a list of who is participating, what stateroom number/s, how many in each room and ages, etc. Sometime during the cruise you go around and put your gifts for people in their fish extenders. The gifts you come prepared to give out seem to fall into a few categories:
1. things that are special to where you live
2. candy
3. small silly toys often Disney related or pirate related
4. handmade items also Disney related or cruise related
5. useful things like hand sanitizer, lip balm etc.

Look like you already got the FE info. I am asumming it will be chillier up the coast so I am bringing some layers to add if it does gets chillier in the evening and a few long sleeve light T's. I am cold in 70 degree weather so I always pack layers LOL I am also bringing my bathing suit but thats cause I am coming off the Fantasy pre- NYC cruise... I'd probabaly bring it anyway

I dont recall we IDed a place for the meet yet....but maybe others will ????

Also, someone refresh my memory PLS. whats the FE joining deadline?

I think we set the deadline to join the FE as May 17. I was just working on my FE gift today also. Still the finish my FE.

My family will be on this cruise: me, DH and DD(12) along with a group of other family members. This will be our second Disney cruise. I don't usually post but am getting excited about this cruise! We have booked the Tall Ship Sailing in Halifax and the Bay of Fundy Scenic Railway in Saint John. Counting down the days!!

You're in plenty of time to sign up for the FE group. Currently we are filling two groups so that everyone will have the option of joining one (around 10 - 15 cabins) or both groups. We were, at last count, up to 24 cabins. May be more by now!
