New Yorkers Beware...Mickey is coming to town! June 17th, 2012 Canada Cruise

I imagine we'll get more FE participants as the month goes on - hope so:cool1:! In the meantime, tell me if I've got this right: Let's say there are 24 families and we split into 2 groups (clearly the numbers will be different later on, but nevertheless). Some will choose to be in both groups and give FE gifts to everyone on the list, some will choose to be in one group only. The groups won't be "12 and 12", though, as the families joining both groups will be counted twice. :teacher:Right? I think I get it! I vote for a mix of ages in both groups. More fun IMHO!

The shows will be the same as the standard shows on the Magic: All Aboard! Let the Magic Begin! on the first night; Remember the Magic on the last night; and Twice Charmed, Villains Tonight and Disney Dreams on the other three nights (although the order is not yet set).

Repeat Cruisers: What are your favorites / "Must See" from the above list?

For dining, the order will be as follows:

Night 1 - Rotational Menu
Night 2 - Semi-Formal Night
Night 3 - Rotational Menu
Night 4 - Pirate Night
Night 5 - Rotational Menu

Anyone know yet what the dining rotations are going to be?

Two questions as above in blue!

Yes, that is correct. Last cruise on the Dream, i think we cut off at 24 for 1st group. Next group ended up at 11 so those who wanted large and small group, ended up with 35! We did both groups and it was lots of fun! The kids loved all the goodies every time we came back to our cabin. We also had a blast seeing all of the new ship when passing them out!

All the shows are excellent but you CANNOT miss Disney Dreams! We really enjoyed all of them. We do not take very small children to Villains Tonight though. Was too scary for 2 & 3 year olds (costumes), but that was just our opinion.

OK...all excited...now question....for the FE...do I need to buy gifts for each day at sea or just 1 gift for everyone? I never did it before so I want to get it right:confused3

Yippee! Glad you are joining!:cool1: you only need to pass out your FE gifts once per cabin. Not every day.

OK...thanks for the quick reply :thumbsup2 Someone told me it was everyday and I just wanted to verify with a "pro"

Not that I've ever done this before  but it seems that "anything goes" regarding the FE gifts. Most seem to deliver gifts once, though some do more than once. It's also a matter of time taken to deliver. Besides the gift buying/making/creating. Also, some like to deliver at the start of the cruise, others before pirate night, etc.

Pkmingo thanks for your advice!:flower3: - that's just the type of "you must not miss" that I wanted to hear!

My favorite show was definitely Villians Tonight. I'm a big theatre person so I love all the shows but I think the whole story in Villians Tonight is fun and the songs are catchy. I went on the Baltic cruise two summers ago and afterwards they had a Villians party after, I don't know if they'll do it on the 5 night but it was fun.

Woo hoo!!! All checked in and excursions booked is it June yet???:cool1:

Hi everyone! I have a question about the HOHO buses for all you experienced cruisers! This newbie is very excited :cool1:but I want to make sure I understand how the HOHO's work.

I understand the buses run in loops, looks like 2-3 different ones depending on which port. Do the buses arrive/depart at each stop every 20-30 minutes all day...so if we got off at one site, then walked a bit and saw other things not mentioned on the HOHO list, we can walk back to the stop and get the next bus?

I can't walk long distances so being able to ride to places would be great--but we also want to stop off at places like Cows, the Lunchbox candy place, etc. Would this be possible do you think? Hope my question makes sense to you all!

Thanks so much :)

We are checked it, too!
:dance3:
We got an 11:30 port arrival time (11:00 was not available), which I am happy with :cloud9: considering we are, after all, first-timers!

Didn't try for Palo and didn't book excursions - so no news there!

Just VERY EXCITED!

Can I just vent? A very close friend, who happens to be "one who cruises", gave me a piece of her mind regarding my DIS and Disney and FE etc. obsession. "Why would you want to meet people you don't know?" "Why do you want to exchange junk with other people?" "I can barely get my suitcases packed; why would anyone want all that extra stuff to do?" "Don't you have other things to do than play on the computer with silly smilies?"etc. etc. etc. I guess she is in the category of "doesn't get it, never mind", right? I'm glad she's not on our cruise. In fact, remind me never to travel with her anywhere!:rotfl:

Some people don't get it until they try it. Other people never get it. I love all the information you find out from real people who done it before us. I am loving the Canada thread where we get information from the people who live in the ports we are visiting. While I think the FE is fun. I pick and choose which cruises to do it on based on suitcase space and length of cruise. I most likely won't do it again on a 3 night. That was insane.

FE

I'd like the FE groups to be about 10-12 each. I think that's manageable without too much extra to pack!

Thinking about joining this cruise! I always plan a year in advance but this time it's more of an impromptu one. If we do it (and I'll know by Friday) it will just be DH and I. Annmarie
