is there a thread for people going to WDW on NY? if yes, I apologize for this!

1. I hear there is an " early" and normal NYE at epcot. What is this early NYE, what time is it at?

2. Are there special dinner reservations to be had at Epcot on NYE?? if yes, when are these bookable?

3. Wishes Dessert party for Dec 30- when can I book this and how?

(1) Yes, there is an early Holiday IllumiNations at 6:00ish. It's the same IllumiNations shown the rest of the week, not a special NYE one.

(2) Yes, there is a special buffet and dance party called "New Year’s Eve at Epcot World ShowPlace". It's between Canada and the UK and it is very expensive (http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2015/...alt-disney-world-to-ring-in-2016/#more-135639) at $72 per adult / $44 per child plus tax (I don't know if tip is included). I often use the bathrooms next to the World ShowPlace on NYE and it looks like a LOT of fun, but it's too pricey for me. I would grab a reservation in Epcot (or at an Epcot resort) today for NYE and then join this thread to maybe snag a better reservation (http://www.disboards.com/threads/december-cancelled-adr-thread-guidlines-in-first-post.3515270/). Although I see right now there is an ADR available for Coral Reef at 8:20 which is pretty amazing IMO.

(3) The Wishes Dessert party is now split into 2 "parties", one at Tomorowland Terrace (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/tomorrowland-terrace-fireworks-dessert-party/) and one at the Plaza Garden (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/d...d-terrace-fireworks-dessert-party-plaza-view/) Both are already sold out for December 30th. I would stalk the reservations links and grab one in case someone cancels.

1) Yes, there's an "early" NYE at EPCOT. As a PP mentioned, Illuminations goes off at 6pm. Also, Magic Kingdom does its NYE show on 12/30 and 12/31. If you're there, it's worth stopping by on 12/30 to experience NYE at Magic Kingdom.

2) Special - yes. I think there's a few prix fixes at the restaurant in Mexico, Le Cellier and I believe there's a buffet held somewhere in the parks. There should be reservations available now. If you book something like Le Cellier, the website or CM should alert you that this is a special meal and that it's not on the meal plan, etc.

3) Those are probably long gone. They went once the window opened, most likely.

I read this sentence so wrong. I thought you were saying the bathrooms were a lot of fun but too pricey. :lmao::lmao:
LOL! The bathrooms are FREE and the best value in Epcot on NYE :). They are very big and fairly empty.

I have a couple questions...

1. Is CG on Dec 30 a special dining night? If you were lucky enough to snag a ADR, would you be able to watch the early evening Wishes from the observation deck? Could you come back to watch the midnight fireworks from the observation deck?

2. I've read in a few reports that people could lay out blankets on grass for NYE fireworks in Epcot? Where is there enough space to lay out a blanket on Dec 31st?? I thought it was way to busy to do that?
Thanks!

The following thread isn't where NYE people are hanging out; however, it has a lot of good info.

Last year, Le Cellier, La Hacienda, and Monsieur Paul had special meals. I know we already booked the early dinner at Monsieur Paul. I don't know if the others are bookable yet. I think for some of them you have to call. We booked Monsieur Paul online. You can read about some of them on the Disney site already though. As someone else said, there's the World Showplace buffet. I don't know if that's been announced yet. Last year, the parks blog announced stuff sometime in October.

I don't think California Grill is a special event on the 30th. I'm not sure about the NYE fireworks as the restaurant will be closed by then. Anyway, watching from there will not be the best. Fantasy in the Sky is a 360 degree fireworks and watching from the side will NOT be the same.

Yes, people lay blankets out on the grass and along the fences. Personally, I would rather not spend my time sitting on a blanket.
