new years at epcot/mgm

just wondering about NYE.. are there any special events, shows, etc. going on at MGM or EPCOT that you know of? where would i find information about that before my trip? the official disney website and the disney toll-free numbers don't know anything about that yet. and whenever i call, i get so mad at the people answering the phone because i know more about answering my questions than they do. they just use the website that i can look at myself.

Matt are you sure about this because it's not posted on their webpage yet. I was thinking of going to MGM just for the fireworks. Would I get in after 10?

EPCOT has a special dinner with live bands. They are doing Illuminations twice (early & late) on NYE.

not familiar with Sorcery at MGM.

Are you talking 10:00 AM or 10:00 PM? 10:00AM would work, the other, a big risk

We were there last NYE and will be there this year also. We started the day at MGM and left around 4:30 and headed to Epcot. Had ps at Teppanyaki for 7:30 and still waited almost an hour. Lots of people, many outdoor music venues. They passed out hats and noisemakers around 6pm. It poured so we left even before the Illuminations. This year we have ps at Brown Derby and staying at MGM for Fireworks. If you are going to MK, start the day there and be prepared to stay there. Last year it hit capacity and NOONE was allowed into park even resort guests and those with PS. I heard it was wall to wall.

All the parks have a spectacular fireworks display at midnight. There is always lots going on in Epcot with a real party atmosphere and entertainment in every country. MGM usually has some "name" band or entertainer. It's always a mystery who it will be and I've never seen it posted on the "official" site. Hopefully, word will somehow spread to these boards who it will be this year.
