ufalum - we stayed there in nov 2001 and had a cooler, was no problem, we carried it with us everyday to the pool area also. the beach area is a great place to watch the electric water pageant and also there is a general use balcony area on the fifth floor facing the bay that has a great view! Have a great time, it is a wonderful resort!

I think the best place to watch the EWP is from WL's beach. Find a beach chair, relax, and watch the show! Before the show, while I relaxed DD4 played in the sand, and the nearby play equipment. Everyone had a great time!

Can you tell me what time the EWP is?

This is my first post and just wanted to say thanks for all the great info and I love the thread. I can't wait to see the lodge!! Saw the outside a few years ago on my honeymoon and now get to stay there with my husband and 2 great kids on our first official family vacation. I am so excited that it almost seems too good to be true.

Dreams do come true.

stephnky - EWP is the Electric Water Pageant.

It is a light show similar to what the Main Street Electrical Parade. There are barges on the water with different types of sea creatures pulling Neptunes chariot (unless it has changed in the last 5 years, but I doubt it). Each creature gets its own theme and after all light up there is then a patriotic set.

Does anyone know if the show has changed any in the time it has been running. I would think it has to be approaching 20 years because I remember seeing it in the 80's.

For those of you that brought a cooler... was it the disposable kind and where did you get it? Can you get one in the shopping center down the road from DD? We need to stop and get milk (DS still insists on two cups before bed).

I've read on this thread that the EWP passes WL nightly around 9:35pm.

We saw it last year from the Contemporary, and it seems it was as Shafke described.

OK so I'm sure I'm asking a question that has already been answered some place but it would take me forever to get through it all Sorry! We (boyfriend and I) will be staying at the WL Nov 30th to Dec 6th. We have a woodsview room with a King bed. Does anyone have a room number that they would suggest? I read someplace that there is some views to the Magic Kindom and an otter pond. Also I thought I remember reading someplace about faxing your room request 3 days before you leave....can some one give me the number? Thanks!

Jeepgirl -

I haven't been to the WL yet -- going Jan. 1 -- but I had written down from my research that rooms X034-X006 (with the X being the floor) would be good otter pond views. Maybe someone else could verify that?

Also, the number I have for faxing room requests is: 407-824-3232.

Have a great trip!

...there are a lot of "newbies" to this thread, so I am adding a link about our recent vaca to WDW...(enjoy!!)

DAY FIVE

We were there in July and kept a cooler in our room. It was a 64qt and each day I would use the ice machines to fill it in order to keep stuff cold and no one said a word. As far as where to keep it, there was a space between the TV armoire and the wall that fit perfectly.

Shafke, as far as milk, my DD still insists on a cup before bed as well. We just bought the small pint sized plastic containers from the mercantile. I think they were $1 or so. I remember them being the same as most grocery stores and then you do not have to worry if it is cold enough in your cooler. Milk is something we tend not to chance on.

I was lucky enough to be around planning when 999 was hear and we got wonderful Otter Pond rooms. There were 2028 and 2026 on the Second Floor. (4 queens) I believe this was better for viewing than first floor and we saw plenty of activity in the early morning hours including many large birds.

Get mugs right at check in. I could get down to RF in less than a min. flat. The elevators were very fast and we were not far from them. If you want to use refillable mugs - get in the North Wing.

Hi All...As a cast member from Wilderness Lodge, and a new vistor to this site, I was hoping to help make Magical Memories for our current and future guests..I have posted here on occassion and I hope this past week I have made a difference in a few regular subscribers of this forum...If you have read my prior post apologizing for intruding on 999ghost territory, I truely am sorry and did not mean to do so...As posted by others..no one was trying to "invade his space"...But I can tell you, I will keep reading the posts but will not be responding accordingly...I thought I could make a difference in addition to 999ghosts...I guess with the feedback, I was wrong....I'm sorry.....

Hi all, this is 999ghsts, I COULD NOT let this post go and did not want to answer it indirectly through Kimmar, as that is not my style. AskMickey, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE...I had posted prior to all my posts being deleted that It was an honest mistake you thinking I was Clay...I had asked everyone to PLEASE not lose faith or trust in you as I do feel that you can offer SOOOOOO much to this thread and these boards. This is not "my space" or "your space", it is everyones space... If you have something to offer, which you do, then you should by all means post your thoughts. My problem and the reason I had the screen name deleted was the way that you were grilling everyone at work to try and find out my identity. I was getting uncomfortable there, as I am a private person. I am on the boards to make magic and help out with trip planning, I am not here for recognition or gifts or antything like that. There are only a handful of people here that know who I am and only one other person at WL that knows. Please understand that it was not my intention to drive you away, you are definetly an asset to the boards and have the same right as I do to be here.

Hi HumphreytheBear !!! You indeed do make magic. I'm so glad you are back. Sending PD and best wishes to you!!

HumphreytheBear - So glad to see that you are still around! Personally, I could use all the advice that you and AskMickey can generate! I hope that you both keep posting.

:)

Glad you are both here!! I've been lurking to gather info for my trip Dec.16-20. First time at WL, And not bringing the kids, first time at WDW at Xmas, and celebrating our 30th anniversary to boot. How much more excited could I be?? I have booked a coutyard, non smoking. From my days of lurking I think A lobby room, on the sixth floor looking at inner courtyard is what I would like. Is this possible?? Oh yea- an open balcolny. Or is this too much to ask for!! Even if I cannot get an answer I do enjoy reading all the posts on WL!! It gets me more excited! Thank you both again for all the MAGIC you share!

Coolers:

We buy styrofoam coolers from the grocery store. Goodings has them and Tiffany has stopped at a couple of different markets where we have purchased them. They are inexpensive, and we leave them in the room after we depart. Wish there was a way that someone else could you them afterwards. Any ideas would be appreciated.

But anyway, we leave them in the sink area, across from the bathroom door. We also put a towel under the cooler, it tends to sweat.

I buy zip lock bags and put the ice in them, that way you can just dump the melted ice out while it's still in the bag. I learned that somewhere on one of these boards.

Hope this helps.

Have a Magical day.
Oh, the clock radio went off this am and it was playing "True Colors". I just love the pre-show to HISTA-it'll be in my head all day.

:) :D
