Got back 3 weeks ago from our 1st trip to DW. I have been working on many layouts and currently have about 40 pages laying loosely together in my bonus room ready to be attached. Should I use glue, double sided tape, or anything else? Please let me know what you think works best. Thanks!

I just started myself a month or so ago, but learned quickly that less is more when it comes to adhesives. You definately want to use one specificly for scrapbooking, but the type depends on the media you use.

My first 6-8 pages I only used liquid adhesive for everything - and way too liberal an amount. Parts of the pages got a little wrinkly, and even a few pictures.

Then I discovered adhesive mounting squares. They are much cleaner for me, and are very easily hidden under things. I've found Thermo-Web brand mounting squares to work best for me so far. It was about $3 for a roll of 750 squares. I use this for pictures, mattes, etc.

I still use the liquid adhesive for some items (like those MGM Drink Stirrers from MGM, 3-d things like that), but have found the mounting squares to be very easy to work with and they make a very elegant, clean page.

Good luck! I'm sure other more experienced people will give great advice.

There are several types of adhesive. The squares come in a box that you pull the squares out one at a time, there is a new one too that the runner comes in the box and it's disposable. Tape runners you just roll along where you want the adhesive to be, Herma makes one that you can find at a craft store or Walmart. Creative Memories makes one too but you have to order from a consultant. Both if these can be refilled.

For liquid adhesive I use Scotch quick dry tacky adhesive. I also use glue dots for a stronger hold than the mounting squares. These come in several sizes. HTH!!!

I'm looking at my adhesives now and I have 5 different ones that I can see! Mostly I use the mounting squares. They're cheap, easy to work with and you can buy ones that are repositionable for 5 minutes - which is very handy sometimes.

I also have some clear mounting tabs because they're skinny and handy for small things. I have the Tombow adhesive tape that someone mentioned and use it if I need a stronger bond (triple mat pictures). The last thing I use is glue dots. They are great for heavy things - buttons, metal tags, etc.

I don't personally like the liquid adhesives except for when I use a glue pen for very small things or skinny lettering. A glue pen is exactly like a felt tip pen except glue comes out instead of ink.

I like using either some sort of tape runner or photo squares. Most of the time I get mine from Creative Memories...but in a pinch I will run to the LSS and pick up something there.....something like Tombo adhesive.

As for liquid glue...I don't like using it on my papers or photos. I will on occasion use it for embellishments. But you do have to be carefull with it becasue it will/can warp and wrinkle your things.

I also like photo safe glue sticks for embellishments (but not for my paper or photos...beacuse of the warp/wrinkle factor). A couple glue sticks I like are...Tombo and Pioneer (they have a real good one for embellishments).

I like CM adhesive the best. It seems to hold bazzil paper and textured paper the best. I hardly use liquid adhesive but when I do I have something called mono.
What type of album are you using?
If it is a top loading album you won't need to adhere them just slide them in back to back. If it is a CM album or pioneer which has the pages in the book I hope you trimmed your pages down before you created them. Those books are not true 12x12.

Thanks everyone! This is really helping. My album is a top loading Disney one I bought from JoAnns so I hope the trimming wasn't needed because I didn't check for a true size before I started.

I use the CM tape runner. They just introduced a new design which is much nicer. It doesn't get the little sticky strips all over the place and it is still refillable.

Instead of liquid for those special souvies, I use mini glue dots. They also work really well for fabrics, ribbons, and those other "hard to adhere things"

I use the Tombo adhesive because it's so easy to work with. I also use the Hermafix repositionable adhesive so that if I change my mind while I'm working on it, I can lift it back up and it won't ruin the paper...then over time, the adhesive becomes permanent.
