But Roxie is supposed to be a likeable character played by a likeable star.

The role has the advantage of being not overly vocally demanding, so it's an easy (well, easier - you couldn't put Michelle Yeoh in the role given her proven lack of vocals in Wicked; but if someone can carry a tune they can survive it) stunt cast.

But yeah...usually someone likeable.

Well, she got her wish. Leavitt was just announced as the new Roxie in Chicago on Broadway. Not the first DWTS alum to do that show. Probably not the last.

Our local NYC's ABC news entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo, who since last year, has been reporting entertainment news, got to make some personal news herself as she got to perform in Chicago on Broadway a couple days ago.

Here is a clip of her being coached and rehearsing behind the scenes, fitted for costume, etc. Joelle only had 5 hours to learn it all. It's interesting to see her behind the scenes all the way to her one performance. Whitney will probably go through similar. I don't think the bar will be set too high for her to perform. And at least, due to Mark, she can dance. Although, they didn't do any Fosse dancing with jazz hands and all that (jazz.) Yes! I made a bad pun.

(Yes, that's Sam Champion, the weather guy from GMA on the far right at the end of the segment. He's been our "local" weatherman forever.)
