Good morning, all!

Allie, great letter for your uncle, I love it!

Ginger, sorry to hear work has been running you ragged! But good news about the office, sounds like its gonna get there, anyway.

Danielle I completely agree with you, I am all for giving all kids the best education possible, but to get it, we should be paying for it.

I am home with Catie today, she woke up running a fever, with a sore throat, and complaining of a stiff sore neck. We have an appointment with her dr in an hour to rule out meningitis, that is just scary enough to not play around with for me. KWIM?

Eek! Good luck at the doctor's appointment! to Catie.

That is yuggy for Catie to wake up sick and scary for the mommy to wonder if she is really sick. I hope all turns out well.

Here is finally what should be the 1st in a long time :a positive purple note!
We had a quiet Thanksgiving but Monday night Em didn't want to go back AT ALL. She saw her worker on Tuesday morning and walked away with a great feeling and tons of help offered that she has finally accepted!

She will be getting a Mentor (already assigned), a tutor in every class (already accepted 2 of the 3) a note taker for every class AND a note to her DON (floor rep whatever you want to call him) to remind him that she suffers from Social Anxiety and needs to be included more. THEN last night she had what she called "an intense conversation" with her roommates. They have all reached an agreement that things need to change and are actually going to go out for supper on Sunday together for a change.

Here's hoping eveyrone has a great weekend -- i am heading to Ottawa (our capital city) for a meeting with my Mom & a friend. Should be fun .... 10 hours in the car both ways (at least i get away on my own DUCKY needs a break after a rotten year)

Jacqueline~ Great news that Em is finally receptive to accepting some help! Have a safe trip to Ottawa....do not skate on the canal....it is not frozen yet! (that's someting I've always wanted to do...:confused3 have no idea why!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: on the tag....and that tag contains excellent advice!
Thanks!
What a GRRRRrreat tag!!!!:thumbsup2 :cool1: :yay: Congrats!!!!
Thank you!
Wow - I've missed checking in this week. Its been a crazy week at work and I get home and by the time I get the cubs to bed just pretty mnuch pass out. I _DID_ finally get to move into my new office - yeah!! It needs a lot of work to look ok - but thats ok.... I still need my new computer to be installed, and my new phone put in, and they are installing paneling, and maybe ripping up the rug, and painting - ack! But, I am in - crazy.

Well, more soon. Hope all have a great Thursday!!!!!:thumbsup2 :cool1:
I'm glad you are getting all moved in. Think they will paint it Lime for you, so it will match your fur??
I am so with you on that one Danielle. I commented about that one too. Tons of requirements with no funding... this means other worthy programs get cut! I also think teachers are forced to spend too much time teaching the students how to take particular mandated tests rather than actually teaching the kids the material so that they know and unserstand it after the test is over! Drives me absolutely crazy!
I'm with you on that too...The teaching to the test thing has got to stop. Standardised tests have their place, but when it starts to negatively affect how teachers feel they need to teach, they become a detriment.
Ginger~ I hear ya on the exhaustion thing! We are all way too busy! Glad your office is shaping up! No computer or phone yet...I guess this means yo shouldn;t have too work!:thumbsup2
I Like that idea!
 everybody. Chaos at work. We watched the debates tonight, and one point I totally agreed with Obama about(actually a few, but this one hit home). The gov't keeps coming up with more ways to fix education, but what they are really saying is, here's more paperwork, and more requirements, and more hours spent on the job, but whoops, not more money.
Sorry, just had to vent.
Sorry about the Chaos...I have to admit that i didn't watch this debate...I was too busy WATHCING THE PHILLIES WIN!!!:cheer2:
:yay: Howdy Stranger!!

How'd the Appt. go? Chris has been home the last 2 days...fever, headache and sore throat..no neck pain thank goodness! I freaked out when you first mentioned that and asked him if his neck hurt...fortunately he said no!!!:grouphug: for you all...hope she feels better soon!

My boss originally told me they werent going to paint it - it looks like a VERY run-down Tuscan garage right now (peeling sheet rock w/ original plaster peeking out form underneath....) Then , w/out meaning too, I got talking to the director of the whole department (I used to babysit his kids!!! - I didnt tell the asst. directors when we interviewed, so no favoritism or rejecvtion because of it..) We were just crossing paths and he asked about my office - HE said I could have it painted anyway I wanted excpet polka dots! (It WAS slighly awkward telling my boss he'd been overruled..)

Lime is looking pretty good! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad Catie is ok -poor thing. I think I am getting sick - SO many kids are sick in one school system near here they are closing the whole school tomorrow. When I left work today, I told them I might not be in tomorrow - hate to do it so soon after starting, but....I feel like you described Catie feeling (tired, achy, head-ache, sore throat, chills, etc...) Bleh. Cole was like this and missed one day of school last week - hope mine is gone as fast... And take care of yourself, you dont want to catch it from her, like I guess did. This was supposed to be my night to go to the gym and shop....now Im in bed Dising and drinking tea.

Howdy Peeps
:yay: :cloud9: :grouphug:

WOW, so nice to 'see' all of you guys - esp. some of you we dont see as often:sad1: - lets do it more often!!:goodvibes :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I am still trying to figure out how I can be this tired after doing nothing but take care of Catie today...

Glad to hear the good news about Em, ad that you are having a little getaway. That's always good for the spirits:thumbsup2

Strep is awful, but once the antibiotics kick in, the improvement happens quickly.:) Watch out for things like shared toothpaste. It's pretty contagious, and still quite serious. Hope Catie feels 100% soon, and the rest of your family stays healthy.

Hope work calms down and I hear you on education. Hopefully, things will change soon!:)

Glad it's not to serious. I took Tink to the doctor yesterday too, she also has strep. So we have amoxicillan too!

In the morning she told me she didn't feel good. Of course she tells me that every morning! SO I said "tough your going to school." She said " I feel like I have to throw up" I said "so go throw up". A few minutes later she told me she had thrown up. I really didn;t believe her so told her. "good you got that over with now go get dressed for school" Fast forward to 11:00. I'm on the phone with a client and Tink calls for me to get her from school because she is sick. I went into cray mommy mode. TOld her I'll be there, but I'm finishing some stuff up here first. Basically let her know I thought she was faking and not making my life any easier. SO I get off the phone and decide I'll make a doctor's appointment for her. SHe hates the doctor so this was a form of punishment. SO I pick her up and tell her we're going to the doctor. SHe says "no I'll stay in school." I say nope your sick your going to the doctor. So we go to the doctor. She gives the strep test and it's positive. We get in the car and were on the way to the pharmacy and Tink perked right up. I said "how can you be so much better already? You haven't even had the medicine yet." Her reply "Mommy guilt is the best medicine":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ummm nope! middle daughter. I'm 5th of seven. My older sister is the middle child! Being the 5th of seven is what made me QOTU!:goodvibes

Sounds like Star Trek Voyager with 7 of 9. So you are saying your designation is "5 of 7?
:lmao:

Things go as normal here. Just getting past an Indian summer type time. We almost hit 90 one day this week. Now 60 and rainy, perfect for sleeping through the weekend! (I so wish;)

Jeff has hit some bumps in his schooling, but hopefully will either quit fighting it and move on or not sure what will happen. His self contained teacher is doing so much! I think I mentioned he is in inclusion class for Science & Social studies. He also got a reading teacher and help for the first time since he went into Special ed( first grade). Not that others didn't try, but not much more than letting him got to another ED class for reading basics. And all this without the paperwork fight... at least so far!

Krista is doing ok, but I sure wish she was at Jeff's school. I don't think she is excelling as well as last year, but her grades are still up at progress report time. She's very whiney lately and that pushes me over the hill! I think both kids aren't getting much positive reaction from their dad lately. He is still struggling with all his stuff, bleah!

We are finally getting medical insurance!!! Man I hope it is what they say. It will start 11/1. So hard not having any (since Jan 1.). I have a list of appointments to make after it is all confirmed. That has been the biggest drain on the budget with meds costing over $1500 a month for the 3 of them. And they started adding the cost of Bill's 6 psych meds to that this month. big Ouch!!

Otherwise pretty same-o here for us. Hope all is great out there and that Bear gets her office with just the amount of lime it needs!

Stay well, get your flu shot if you can and I'll pop in again soon!
