Good morning, all!
Allie, great letter for your uncle, I love it!
Ginger, sorry to hear work has been running you ragged! But good news about the office, sounds like its gonna get there, anyway.
Danielle I completely agree with you, I am all for giving all kids the best education possible, but to get it, we should be paying for it.
I am home with Catie today, she woke up running a fever, with a sore throat, and complaining of a stiff sore neck. We have an appointment with her dr in an hour to rule out meningitis, that is just scary enough to not play around with for me. KWIM?

That is yuggy for Catie to wake up sick and scary for the mommy to wonder if she is really sick. I hope all turns out well.
Here is finally what should be the 1st in a long time :a positive purple note!
We had a quiet Thanksgiving but Monday night Em didn't want to go back AT ALL. She saw her worker on Tuesday morning and walked away with a great feeling and tons of help offered that she has finally accepted!
She will be getting a Mentor (already assigned), a tutor in every class (already accepted 2 of the 3) a note taker for every class AND a note to her DON (floor rep whatever you want to call him) to remind him that she suffers from Social Anxiety and needs to be included more. THEN last night she had what she called "an intense conversation" with her roommates. They have all reached an agreement that things need to change and are actually going to go out for supper on Sunday together for a change.
Here's hoping eveyrone has a great weekend -- i am heading to Ottawa (our capital city) for a meeting with my Mom & a friend. Should be fun .... 10 hours in the car both ways (at least i get away on my own DUCKY needs a break after a rotten year)
Thanks!![]()

Congrats!!!!
I'm glad you are getting all moved in. Think they will paint it Lime for you, so it will match your fur??Wow - I've missed checking in this week. Its been a crazy week at work and I get home and by the time I get the cubs to bed just pretty mnuch pass out. I _DID_ finally get to move into my new office - yeah!! It needs a lot of work to look ok - but thats ok.... I still need my new computer to be installed, and my new phone put in, and they are installing paneling, and maybe ripping up the rug, and painting - ack! But, I am in - crazy.
Well, more soon. Hope all have a great Thursday!!!!!![]()

I'm with you on that too...The teaching to the test thing has got to stop. Standardised tests have their place, but when it starts to negatively affect how teachers feel they need to teach, they become a detriment.I am so with you on that one Danielle. I commented about that one too. Tons of requirements with no funding... this means other worthy programs get cut! I also think teachers are forced to spend too much time teaching the students how to take particular mandated tests rather than actually teaching the kids the material so that they know and unserstand it after the test is over! Drives me absolutely crazy!
I Like that idea!Ginger~ I hear ya on the exhaustion thing! We are all way too busy! Glad your office is shaping up! No computer or phone yet...I guess this means yo shouldn;t have too work!![]()
Sorry about the Chaos...I have to admit that i didn't watch this debate...I was too busy WATHCING THE PHILLIES WIN!!!everybody. Chaos at work. We watched the debates tonight, and one point I totally agreed with Obama about(actually a few, but this one hit home). The gov't keeps coming up with more ways to fix education, but what they are really saying is, here's more paperwork, and more requirements, and more hours spent on the job, but whoops, not more money.
Sorry, just had to vent.
How'd the Appt. go? Chris has been home the last 2 days...fever, headache and sore throat..no neck pain thank goodness! I freaked out when you first mentioned that and asked him if his neck hurt...fortunately he said no!!!Good morning, all!

Sadly, you are right - no work.....I watch a coworker do some reports, etc. and then, believe it or not, watch her shop on-line..... Soon, I will have my own stuff and get to do actual work!Ginger~ I hear ya on the exhaustion thing! We are all way too busy! Glad your office is shaping up! My boss originally told me they werent going to paint it - it looks like a VERY run-down Tuscan garage right now (peeling sheet rock w/ original plaster peeking out form underneath....) Then , w/out meaning too, I got talking to the director of the whole department (I used to babysit his kids!!! - I didnt tell the asst. directors when we interviewed, so no favoritism or rejecvtion because of it..) We were just crossing paths and he asked about my office - HE said I could have it painted anyway I wanted excpet polka dots!I'm glad you are getting all moved in. Think they will paint it Lime for you, so it will match your fur??
VA----Take pic's of your new office when it's done....I am glad, I hope that will make things better for you!
I'm so glad Catie is ok -poor thing. I think I am getting sick - SO many kids are sick in one school system near here they are closing the whole school tomorrow. When I left work today, I told them I might not be in tomorrow - hate to do it so soon after starting, but....I feel like you described Catie feeling (tired, achy, head-ache, sore throat, chills, etc...) Bleh. Cole was like this and missed one day of school last week - hope mine is gone as fast... And take care of yourself, you dont want to catch it from her, like I guess did. This was supposed to be my night to go to the gym and shop....now Im in bed Dising and drinking tea.Catie is okay, just strep according to the dr, so he prescribed Amoxicillin and we got some soup while at the Walgreens for lunch, she says she is feeling much better already.(Catie picked the smiley)..

Strep is awful, but once the antibiotics kick in, the improvement happens quickly.Catie is okay, just strep according to the dr, so he prescribed Amoxicillin and we got some soup while at the Walgreens for lunch, she says she is feeling much better already.(Catie picked the smiley)..

Jacqueline, glad Em is open to the assistance now, hopefully things will go much more smoothly going forward.![]()
OMG!Glad it's not to serious. I took Tink to the doctor yesterday too, she also has strep. So we have amoxicillan too!
In the morning she told me she didn't feel good. Of course she tells me that every morning! SO I said "tough your going to school." She said " I feel like I have to throw up" I said "so go throw up". A few minutes later she told me she had thrown up. I really didn;t believe her so told her. "good you got that over with now go get dressed for school" Fast forward to 11:00. I'm on the phone with a client and Tink calls for me to get her from school because she is sick. I went into cray mommy mode. TOld her I'll be there, but I'm finishing some stuff up here first. Basically let her know I thought she was faking and not making my life any easier. SO I get off the phone and decide I'll make a doctor's appointment for her. SHe hates the doctor so this was a form of punishment. SO I pick her up and tell her we're going to the doctor. SHe says "no I'll stay in school." I say nope your sick your going to the doctor. So we go to the doctor. She gives the strep test and it's positive. We get in the car and were on the way to the pharmacy and Tink perked right up. I said "how can you be so much better already? You haven't even had the medicine yet." Her reply "Mommy guilt is the best medicine"![]()
