They obviously condone renting as a form of income or else this would never be allowed. I guess if these are your home resorts and you can't get a reservation, you can blame this guy. You might as well bank into next year and rent from them. It sickens me.

I don't get it. Members still have the 11 month window at their home resorts.dcal said:The old catch phrase "buy where you want to stay" may have less meaning in the near future, AND LET'S HOPE SO!

Doubtful. Any shift in availability in favor of those at other resorts would be negative for members who own and plan to stay at that resort. Something I find unlikely to happen and actually quite the contrary as owners at certain resorts learn they really need to plan and reserve in advance. DVC could not take the home resort advantage away the most they could do would be to make it 11/10, which I don't see happening.dcal said:One of the best features, as a DVC member, is the opportunity to sample or stay at any and all of the resorts! PS: Yes I plan to stay at all the resorts. There all great!
The new rule rules!!!!!
That's an easy one to tell you about, but sometimes a difficult one to understand. The two inventories are seperate. Point inventory is a finite number for each home resort. About 4% of that inventory is held back by Disney for rentals through CRO or for breakage/maintenance. That way, if a unit comes out for maintenance, there is still a unit left over to fill it's place.I am still trying to figure out why, at 5 months out, am I unable to book a room at a home resort on points but can go online and book 3 of the exact rooms I am looking for in cash..... non (DVC) discounted.
Correct.Tom and Jen said:A transfer is from one owner to another correct? Not banking or borrowing.
You get one transfer per Use Year so you can transfer points in OR out (not both) in each Use Year. So, yes, you can still transfer points to another member once per Use Year or receive points from another member once per Use Year. Now I have had situations where I might have needed a couple of points to finish a reservation. I am fortunate enough to have a few close friends, of whom we 'turned on' the DVC idea to, offer points to us if needed. Are we now unable to pass a couple points to each other if needed?

Sadly, innocent members are being burdened with restrictions and intimidated by threats. However, for the actual "violators" Disney claims are responsible for such changes, it's still business as usual.
The apologists on here need to wake up and smell the Starbucks.
