First I was going to book AKV Jambo savannah view, but my DH asked me to see if we could get a BWV studio. We ended up booking a BWV studio std. My DH is excited to be close to Epcot but thinking he's going to miss his SSR

I had a wonderful MS CM. I could hear the keys clicking as I asked about AKV studio concierge and then as quickly as she said, "Just a minute, I can waitlist you". Then checking the savannah views, and didn't even care when my DH asked me to completely change to BWV. I have been very lucky to have had great CMs every time I"ve called MS.

Reservation #1: 2 Studios at BCV, Saturday December 19, called 11 month window 1/20/09 at 8:00 am CST, got them with no trouble.

Reservation #2: One Studio, one 2BR lockoff, OKW (Hospitality House), Sunday December 20-Saturday December 26, called 11 month window 1/20/09 at 8:00 am CST, got them with no trouble (reservation took a long time to complete, but there was no trouble).

Reservation #3: One 2BR, HH, Sunday December 27-Sunday January 3, called 11 month window 1/27/09 at 8:00 am CST, got it with no trouble.

jekjones1558, I had a 1-bedroom BW view villa this past NYE (as well as NYE 2006/2007), and there is nothing better. We watched the midnight fireworks from the patio (had a ground floor villa), people watched for a bit, went in around 12:30 and went to sleep. Talk about convenience!

I was able to make a split reservation for August at the 7 month mark . I booked AKL Jambo 1 BR Savanah view and VWL 2 Br no problem

Could not get into either one. We were able to book OKW. That was our 3rd choice. If our waitlist doesn't come through, it will be okay. We like OKW.

If shutout, did you waitlist? How did you WL? Whole Period, first Day?
I waitlisted for the BWV, any view for the whole period.

Misc Comments:
The CM was great. Very efficient, used my banked points first without me having to ask. I'm not surprised we couldn't get into the BWV.

I got exactly what I wanted on the first call!

The CM also (without me even having to ask) put in a request for all 3 rooms to be close to each other. I also requested a water view for all 3 rooms.

ETA: We booked VWL. Thanks for the catch, jbrowna!!!

Just made a change today - we changed the reservations to Mon., Dec. 14, through Sun., Dec. 20, due to better airfares (trade off in using more points but we had a lot of banked to use anyway). We were successful with all three rooms! Still at VWL! No problems at all.

I just called and got shut out for New Year's Eve. We were to arrive that day and stay for ten nights. She waitlisted me and said since the first night I wanted wasn't available I couldn't make reservations until tomorrow for the rest. I said, I bet I won't get it tomorrow either unless everyone will be checking out on New Year's Day because it is a Friday. But oh wait, that won't hold true any longer because they adjusted the charts! Ugh!

Honestly, I was irritated but was polite and told her I wouldn't take it out on her because she didn't set policy. However, I am sort of sick and tired of all the new rules. I didn't have trouble booking a room ten years ago for New Year's Eve 1999-2000. But for 2009-2010, I can't get a room at my home resort (BCV's) eleven months out, sorry but its just crazy!

BTW, she reminded me I could have called yesterday because it is not from your check out day but once again, with all these new rules, who can remember every single detail? I am happy that some of you can keep abreast of every booking regulation but honestly, I have to many other more important things going on in my life to remember Disney's constant barrage of booking changes.

It should be interesting if there is availability tomorrow. The CM did give me the customer satisfaction email address and I am going to let them know how disappointed I am.

I don't believe you could have called yesterday for trip that begins Dec 31 as Jan 31 is exactly 11 months out from date of arrival. More than any other day of the year, yours is the problem I had the most concern about arising with the new policy -- getting Dec 31 when that is the start of the vacation since it is the highest demand day of the year and you just know that huge numbers are going to gobbling it up with vacations that start earlier. Under old system everyone was on equal footing when calling day by day.

For completeness in this thread, could you tell us what size unit you were seeking at BCV?

Maybe what the CM meant was that that MSA could have "walked" her reservation by booking it the prior day and then changing her day of arrival the next day?

I'm happy to report the new booking policy passed my ultimate test. I was able to book my customary NYE studio at SSR.

Called January 30 at 9am for my Dec 30 - Jan 2 stay.

Resort was SSR, room was a Studio. It's also handicapped accessible with a roll-in shower.

was able to snag the last 1bd concierge AKV yesterday for 12/31 and a savannah view studio as well (party of 6) and then called this morning literally as the clock flipped to 9am and got the last 2bedroom AKV concierge for 1/1-1/7
