New Poly Tower

Walked around the site today from Poly to VGF1 -They still seem to be working with the tree on one end, ( like 3 guys working ) and then a crew of like 10 are working under the monorail area diagonally opposite. I will respect the no pictures signs by at least not posting them.

1. Looking at the artwork and the lot - we may be looking at a single-sided, not dual-sided building, all of the rooms may be lakefront other than the one area facing the pool. It does not look like there is enough depth due to the monorail. But no foundations are present so too early to tell. There would be nothing but a road to look at in the rear.

2. It seems crazy not to link it to the monorail - it is so close they could have had it go through a 2 sided tower.

3. If they put a quick service in the tower - VGF1 residents will be using it as the walk is actually easier than weaving around the buildings at VGF to get to GSp

I would LOVE a monorail station, but when Disney built the Grand Californian they had the monorail literally pass through the hotel without stopping. I guess the cost of a new station is so high that they are reluctant to build one, when there is an existing station within a reasonable walking distance.

I think this will be a home run for Disney! We have enough points finally or I would be tempted to buy here. Might be a little far to walk for most people, definitely think it's going to make us at VGF mad at the additional crowds in the monorail. Were usually on the monorail early, so it shouldn't affect us too much. Maybe it could tempt me to sell some VGF and buy Poly Tower though!

Either way if they put a QS or TS in Poly 2 - VGF1 will be using it as it will be close.

Pretty sure we will see a new QS and TS at the new Tower. We usually walk over from VGF at least a couple times during our visits. Sometimes dining reservation at Kona and usually an early lunch at Captain Hooks, then off to the TTR for the Epcot monorail. I'll be keeping an eye on the Poly Tower and possibly add on early. Probably end up selling VGF though since we won't need 2 MK resorts.

Not that I hope you are wrong, because I love new TS, but bay lake never got a real dinning location.

Poly/GF can easily support a very expensive rooftop bar or restaurant. It would be a stunning location, one of the best in the system.

But I've been getting Disney wedding ads (LOL mouse, that's a nope). The wedding pavilion is right next to the Poly2 tower. I can totally see a spa or a salon or a getting ready room or renting out half of the rooftop bar for the night or something. Those weddings are just so bananas, I can't see Poly2 being spared. The GF spa was surprisingly cramped and small. I think there's enough wedding business to support more of that kind of stuff.

A flaw in VGF 1 is they don't even have a sundry store ( possibly with a refillable mug and coffee station)- If this is added to PVB2 then yeah, that would make it more convenient. Also, the Boat to MK would be closer than the GF boat or monorail from VGF 1

I can see some of the ( rightfully ) upset VgF1 pre-BPK buyers looking. Again it is a shame because VGF1 is a great building.

I am just really curious because the Poly is definitely our favorite resort, but we have four kids so it makes it tough to think about buying there right now. But if the new tower had a good amount of 2 bedrooms, it would be a no-brainer for us.
I am in the same boat…. Love poly but I have 5 kids. Need a two bedroom.
